I can see where people can get extremely frustrated by how long they have to sit on the phone here, but besides that the gentleman that helped me over the phone was incredibly helpful and reaffirmed me what I needed to change my social security card. He was very specific, timely and put up with me asking the same questions to really get an understanding of the process. All social security processes are ridiculously complicated and mistakes occur. But I appreciate the work these folks are doing and the show of patience along the way. Be calm, be respectful and blame the process not the customer service agent and you will be fine. Good luck all.

Office has been closed for almost 2 years for u201cCOVIDu201d. While everything did shutdown in 2020, businesses and offices have been open long since then. Has barely opened until April 1st, 2022!!!! Even so, theyu2019re only allowing THREE people at a time into the office so you will have to wait outside. If you can go to a different office, GO! If you have to come to this one, I suggest coming bright and early to get a spot at the front of the line before it gets too hot!!

I donu2019t usually leave reviews but this is just ridiculous! I have been trying to call them for a week and no one ever picks up! Iu2019m currently sitting on hold and have been for 1.5 hours. They have my passport and weu2019re supposed to send it back via mail, trying to get a hold of them to locate it, and I canu2019t do anything without itu2026 sometimes youu2019ll be on hold for 20 mins and theyu2019ll just hang up out of no where. Avoid at all costs

After reading all the 1-star reviews, I was concerned that getting my name changed since getting married would be virtually impossible. The hold time being 12 minutes long is why I'm only giving 3 stars. But the saving grace is that when someone did answer the phone, he was actually very helpful and nice! He said that since they're still not doing face-to-face name changes (even though he wants it to be), I have to do it by mail. But he explained the steps I need to take very clearly to me.nnSide note- if you need to change your name from getting married in the last 2 years, all you have to do is mail them your marriage certificate and name change application printed from SS website. They'll then mail you your new info and your marriage license, back.

I made a phone appointment a month in advance and received an confirmation letter. After sitting by the phone for 2 hours I finally called the Pensacola office and was on hold for over an hour only to find out that the SSA office had cancelled my appointment and had not bothered to inform me. I still needed help with SSI. The man I spoke to was rude and unhelpful. When I attempted to ask a question he would interject and would cut me off. When I asked his name he hung up. I would give this office a negative 5 if possible.

I lost my social security card and I canu2019t get a new job without a replacement. I called multiple times and was put on hold for over an hour each time without any help. Absolutely terrible. Youu2019d think something as important as this would be taken more seriously

Who is the federal judge on my case? Or should I just write a letter to every single Supreme Court justice? The PENSACOLA office is judgement impaired! I just got a letter from your office requesting I come there. You banned me from your office. Last time you requested I come, I sat there 30 minutes quietly with my number. Then, the security guard came over and asked me to leave. In 30 minutes, someone could have done a lot of damage. Great homeland security, huh? I already sent you the paperwork you are AGAIN requesting. What a waste of paper and taxpayer money! I have the letter where it was recorded. My Dad worked for the federal government for 38 years. Never a day of college. He was on a missile launch team (Thor missile CLASSIFIED!) and gone for a year at a time. Honored by General Chappie James. He was enlisted and also worked at FAA Pensacola. We have been paying a Russian American psychiatrist and another psychiatrist with a medical degree from another country because that is who the current local government believed I needed help from. Honestly, they make more sense than most American government employees these days! PLUS, they are more more helpful and educated. You all are an embarrasment to your predecessors., including those with top security clearances, purple hearts, and retired secret service. .. Who is the federal judge for ssdi?????? The 2nd stack of papers looked like an entire pine tree. You are really really wasting taxpayers' money on unnecessary paperwork and stamps considering you already got the information. You should think about that since many people no longer support government. If you have a job, please do it with discernment.

On hold forever, but did finally talk to someone. Can't believe that you can't go to their office as a walk-in or make an appointment. Months with their office closed to in-person appointments, hard to believe. Our Government at it's best?

The worst service I've ever seen in this country. It's disrespectful to say the least how they treat the public. It's a shame how they're still closed after been 2 years through this pandemic. They make you call them and they hung up on you (often) after waiting more than 40 minutes average....

They literally WILL NOT answer the phone. I have been trying to get through for days. The Ft Walton office always answers and has been very helpful but since I am not in their county they cannot process my paperwork. I am trying to figure out how to report this office, previous reviews say this has been happening for months.

When the office was opened, some of the workers was very rude. Many people had disabilities and couldnu2019t explain their problems very well. They rush them and talked down to them. I couldnu2019t understand why! But people fail to realize that tragedy can hit anybody, one day you doing good in life and next you can lose it all. People need to stay humble!

As Sydney Cook said in their review, to get your name changed after marriage all you need to do is put your original marriage certificate and the completed SS5 form in an envelope and put it in the drop box for processing. I hope this helps other recently married people!!!!

My daughter's social card was lost in a move. When I attempted to contact the social office they sent me to an automated hold line, after ten minutes I was disconnected. I tried again three more times and got the same result. I went online and after navigating the website was able to find a replacement form, I paid the $99 expedited fee to have it sent overnight. It arrived a week later. I then included my driver license, daughter's birth certificate and a copy of my custody agreement as proof that my daughter was my daughter and of our identity. Two months later they sent me a denial based on lack of proof which they failed to explain what further proof they needed and only sent me my daughter's birth certificate back. They didnt include either my actual driver's license or the copy of my custody agreement, which I then had to pay for getting replaced and did not respond to the emails I sent to the office. So refusal to answer emails of phone calls, loss of personal information and records, and failure to refund my money for the overnight shipping.

Iu2019ve literally been trying to get a hold of the Social Security office for three days now. All I need to do is get the information I need to change my name due to getting married recently. Every time Iu2019ve called I have sat on hold for three hours listening to the phone constantly ringing and no one pick up.

I tried calling several times. Got connected three times. Explained my situation, got put on hold for 15 minutes each time and then they hung up every time. Don't bother calling the P'cola office. Call Ft. Walton Beach office. Mrs Brown there is simply fantastic.

Will not answer the phone, and information is not provided online. Can't really provide a more thorough review, because no services were provided. The Fort Walton office was extremely helpful, despite being unable to provide service to a Pensacola resident.

I have been trying to get back in contact with Mrs. Belew. She was a very nice lady. The local # (850) 433-1902, that she called me from & gave me 2 months ago, is now no longer in service JUST THAT QUICK! I need help with some paperwork questioning whether or not I'm still disabled & can't contact anyone. The 1-877 #, no one ever answers, & I can't get through to them.nnI'm disabled & have been working & turning in check stubs, & the office keeps saying that I never turned them in. I'm afraid of them cutting off my benefits. I have my ticket to work, but need help contacting an agency. I can't get through to them, either.nnI've also been homeless on the streets for a long time, & with my temp service job opportunity, I'm able to temporarily & indefinitely stay in a motel.nnI wonder if any of these social security agents read any of these reviews.nnI need help from someone ASAP!nn& also, before fake COVID-19 hit, employees at the social security office used to treat me mean & provoke me to anger, on purpose & participate in Gang Stalking me. Trying to set me up to get locked up in the mental institution & act very rude & abusive.

If theyu2019d ever answer the phone, I might be able to properly review themu2026 However Iu2019ve spent the majority of the past 2 days sitting on hold waiting for somebody to pick up. Covid isnu2019t an excuse for this. People are working again. This is just government being government.

Not enough investigation of my injury, they didn't send the social security card even though she gets paid, why lie???
    cathy wade
they are crooked and rotten and remove all complaints on them. they hang up on the phone. wont tell me why i was aparently overpaid

Two calls in the same day, on hold for both over 45 minutes. Then disconnected. ALL other government offices are open. Why not SSA?
    Patti Anderson
Requested password reset. Letter in 5 days. Been 7 weeks. Applied for retirement 5 weeks ago and told I would receive 1st check 07/23.STILL waiting. Been calling 877 listed for last 2 days. Never get a agent to answer. It hangs up after 12 minutes? 27 minutes it tells me to call back. Been trying continuously now for 4 hours.

I am hoping after they receive my documents, that Mrs.Mays will do an outstanding job. Former Brenda Gonzalez

How they do business here is atrocious, from long lines forcing disabled and elderly to stand outside, in bitter cold, and sweltering hot weather, to how security speaks to the public.

My husband has been trying to return a call from a letter he received 2 months ago asking him to call. He also needs some important questions answered that aren't available online. No one answers the phones. We have tried multiple times a day. We've tried for over 2 months now. This is ridiculous.
    Kendall Watson
They will literally not answer the phone at all. I have been calling for days, multiple times a day. I sit on hold and then get disconnected. Unacceptable.
    Frances Overton
Waited on the phone for 20 minutes just to have my call accepted and could hear the lady in the background talking to someone else. Waited for 5-7 minutes hoping theyu2019d realize I was on the phone but no such luck. Had to hang up and get back in queue. My sonu2019s decision was reached almost a month ago and no letter or phone call was made to me about the decision. I had to track them down... people are using covid as an excuse to not do their duties that theyu2019re getting paid for. Thereu2019s only one positive about the Pensacola office, and thatu2019s Brandy. Iu2019ve spoken to her a few times and she is always helpful, polite and eager to help.

4 Weeks calling 3 times a day waiting the full 18:56 mins of the hold tone. No one answers, now SSI dropped my son who is terminally ill which resulted in Medicaid dropping him. Open the Offices back UP FOR EMERGENCIES. Iu2019ll been sending out bills to Social to pay, Iu2019m not paying 78k a month for their mistake.
    Eddie Perry
Unbelievable. I finally got through after dozens of attempts over the past month. I needed a form 2458 which is uncommon. The lady didn't know what I was talking about. She put me on hold twice and finally told me she couldn't help me. I asked for her name. She would not give me her name. She did give me a supervisor name. King is all she said and hung up.
