Itu2019s important to take time to say when people get it right and so I want to share that my experience with this office today was excellent. Everything was super organized and, I donu2019t think Iu2019ve ever went through an office appointment that went by as quickly and as smooth. I also have to say that everyone was super courteous and helpful especially the security officer named Joe he was awesome. The ladies that helped me with my paper work were beyond helpful they walked me through each step and answered any questions that I had. They were also super patient.

Ive been trying to get my sons corrected social security card since last year. I sent in all of our sensitive information that was required and received it all back and waited patiently for his card to arrive in the mail. It never showed up so I called again and was told they would resend it. Waited patiently again and it never showed up. Did this four times and never received anything was told that if I keep trying to order it that my son will have trouble getting a replacement as an adult if he needs to. Was also told I'd have to send in all of our original documents all over again in order to try and have it ordered again. I haven't been able to file taxes for last year and the way its looking I wont be able to this year either. All of the offices are closed and I've called multiple times waited for 20-30 minutes each time just for them to pick up the phone and hangup on me! Worst government services I've ever seen

I can never get through to anyone. I had an interview schedule with my caseworker. I called on the schedule date of my interview and she wasn't in her office so I left a message. I got no call back called a second time the following day and again no answer, left another message, still no call back. Called a third time and yet again no answer, had to leave a third message. I hoping they give me a call back because if I loose my benefits it is their fault and I will flip out on them. Why bother making an date for an interview with someone if you aren't even going to be on the office for the interview. Its ridiculous and unacceptable.

Phone services only is a lie. You will call and be on hold for 30 minutes for next available representative and then it will ring like 9 times and an automated voice will answer and say call again later. This happens weather you call at 9am, 10am, 12pm, 2pm, and 3pm. How is this place in business? I would give 0 stars if possible. Long story short my gf got her social security card in the mail, her last name was spelled wrong. Immigration told her to mail it to this place priority mail, Deland office sent back mail saying she has to resubmit application. They did absolutely nothing to try and help the situation and clearly these people have a hard time picking up a phone. Will never use this place for anything again. Close this office.

Been trying to get a hold of someone for weeks regarding getting my name changed on my card, but the phone is either disconnected or wrongly listed. I can't do this online either, and I need clarification on some of my documents. It shouldn't be this difficult to talk to someone

I read the reviews while I was on hold on the phone. And sure enough, all the negative reviews I read were accurate. The woman that answered my call was rude and unhelpful. Every question I asked was answered with a one word answer of yes or no. She offered no explanation or alternative solutions. Then upon ending the phone call, I said u201cokay, thank youu201d and she responded with u201cyepu201d and hung up the phone on me. It doesnu2019t take much to be polite during a phone call. I definitely wonu2019t be going to this office anytime soon.

What the heck , my computer was hack ,had to change bank , emails etc . Left them with my story and my information hasn't received any call as the officer told me I would get this was three weeks ago. No check !

I recently got married and applied to change my last name. I sent all of my sensitive documentation by mail. After receiving back my green card they called me to asked for the number on the back of the card, because they forgot to take a copy u2026A couple of weeks later I received a letter with my new last name but they also changed my middle name. Idk how they can make such mistake, they said that my handwriting looks like that, to me this is an excuse because you have to sent documentation that support any changes with your name. I called twice and spoke to Mr. Ward and Mr. Padget to let them know about the mistake with my middle name. Both of them assured me that the problem will be fixed. That was over 3 months ago. I called requesting to speak with a manager and they hung up on me.

When I called the SSA office in Deland today for help with applying for benefits, the person that I spoke to was very helpful and considerate.

This office is the most unprofessional office I have ever dealt with. The gentleman, Mr Doring, gave me false information regarding my Medicare account because he was too lazy to actually help me. When I called back later that afternoon to se if he could contact a regional office to try and help me locate my account he hung up on me the 3 times I called over an hour and 15 minutes so I obviously will never be able to get help with SS or Medicare from my local office. What a terrible experience. No accountability.

Sent in for a name change got my new card within a week with all documents back. After reading reviews I was not expecting this fast of a response.

Just got off the phone with a representative from the Deland office. The woman was extremely rude and curt. She hung up on me as I was still asking questions.nSome people should not be in the service sector if they dont know how to deal with the public.

It cost me many phone calls to get a personal appointment to apply for a SSN. I live in Ormond, but made the trip to Deland, since this was the only office open. The visit went fast and smooth, but.. my SSN never came.. After calling many times, again, it turned out my application was never processed. I've been promised to be called back by the manager who was supposed to process it, but never heard anything. It's been since November last year now, many phone calls made, many promises to be called back... No one ever does.. And I still need a SSN!nI just called again, the lady was short and then saidyou know whatand hung up on me! Then I called again and Mr. Ward was finally able to give me the name of the manager and her extension number! I just called her but got a voicemail, let's see how this continues..nUpdate: I finally received my SSN card! About 3 weeks after writing the above review. It's been quite the journey, but I'm glad it's come to an end.

4/11/2022 Been on hold for a hour still no answer does anyone really work there? I called at 9 am? YOUR FIRED!

If I could give this office a negative zero I would. I have never called an office with such lack of professionalism as this office. No one EVER has a clear answer and each representative gives you a different version. Staff seems like they are bothered when you call to get an answer. Like you are inconveniencing their precious time. So sad that people need to experience this kind of treatment. Especially elderly people who are trying to get their benefits. Absolutely horrible!!

Security guard and people there were very nice and helpful

Would give 0 stars if possible the lady on the phone was so rude and refused to help and then got very snotty and hung up
    Ryan Svolto
Rude!! I had to appeal and do the work myself. Either hire a lawyer or get educated because they will not help at this location. So RUDE!!!

Terrible service.nnThe person we got a hold of wasnu2019t helpful and was condescending over our problem. They spent more time complaining over how busy they were than sorting over the problem we had. Canu2019t believe people like this have a job in service.

Had to go in to change my social secuirty card twice, they forgot to change my name the 1st time, I have since not recieved it and it's been almost 2 months since, I have called in and constantly get put on a long hold just to be transferred and put on hold. Customer service on the phone is terrible In addition after the personsolvedthe issue I was never given a follow up with anyone and never recieved my card. When I called again just now I was told to speak to the manager of the social security off which I already had. Nobody wants to help me solve this issue.

Wait time isn't too bad but make sure you ask detailed questions if denied for a service. I went back and forth 3 times on the same day because the information one agent gave me was different from the other. One told me I needed one document with a stamp or signature. Went and waited again. Second agent told me it wasn't the correct type of signature --my doctor's office uses E-sign. The SSA agent told me it had to be a wet signature. Took 2 and a half days to have the correct documents and actually accomplish the goal of what I needed.

Last time I was here to get replacement cards for me and my kids I waited for over an hour only to be able to get mines replaced. It's been over a month, haven't gotten mines in the mail. Called the 1800 number cause online it says my information is incorrect to login into my online account and they couldn't tell me over the phone why. So upset I have to go spend time of my day back in this place cause of a mistake they did. Also the lady who helped me was extremely rude, unpleasant and if she would had smiled I think the world would had ended.

I indicated at the kiosk that I am hard of hearing. There was NO indication my number was called except by speaker. I could hear that the speaker was activated but I could not discern what number was called. Why ask if the person is deaf if they aren't going to signal that person somehow. There's a nice monitor, paid for by the people; USE IT. I waited two hours before asking for help. They had called me an hour before. She said they would put me back in line but I STILL couldn't hear. The security guard had to tell me. I can't be the only deaf person in DeLand!!

This office never disappoints as the staff is always courteous, knowledgeable and professional. I recently had the pleasure of working with Ms. Shorter here and she made what has been a horrific experience concerning my benefits turn into a miracle in the final hour. So grateful. ud83dude4fud83cudffd

I have called this place twice in the past two months and BOTH times whoever answers the phone they are VERY short and curt. While asking a question and trying to explain my situation...I was rudely interrupted by a woman who kept repeating herself with information that did not make sense. She then began to raise her voice. UNACCEPTABLE.
    Tara Butler
Security guard is extremely professional, polite, and friendly. Other than that, it is the SSA. Expect to wait, have numbers drawn, and not really know when you're going to be called up (despite your number, they are fairly random). Overall, what one would expect from a government agency.

I was in the office Friday, June 15, 2018 around 12:30pm to replace a social security card. I noticed an elderly woman at one of the counters, accompanied by her adult son who appeared to have Down syndrome. She was there to question a denial letter for his Medicare. The Government u201cworkeru201d Chanelle George, was disgustingly rude, discourteous, impatient and condescending with the woman. I was then lucky enough to also be u201chelpedu201d by her, she was nasty, short and frankly has no business working with the public. Iu2019m appalled by the way this woman is allowed to behave at work, that sure wouldnu2019t fly in my profession.

Great place ... Professional staff and security is by the book. He follows the Law to the letter regarding rules and regulations of government facilities and the safety of the staff and public. Zero tolerance on disruptive behavior and maintains crowd control. Thank goodness they have video and audio when an incident occurs inside or outside of that facility because most people would lie and make false accusations of this Officer when hes is doing and conducting his job.

Agent did not listen to what I was saying and brushed me off. I wrote a letter to the main office explaining an error I thought they made. Six months later I received a lette letting me know they had made an error (which is why I had visited the office) and they sent me a check for the money they mistakenly withheld earlier.
