Today I went to upgrade the status of my SSN and the staff made the process very easy and smooth. In and out in about 15 minutes! Just make sure you to have your SSN and a government ID handy. First floor, check in with the touch screen kiosk and wait for your turn.nGood luck!

called the SS office ,, was on hold for 6 hours, then got hung up on, then told me the next day after waiting another two and a half hours they would send out paperwork I needed, never got it. It's three weeks later.

Cut my son's SSI off because they counted money from the Stimulus and tax returns, which is not supposed to count. I got a letter stating so in mid June, I called and was told to send any records I had proving it was from the stimulus bill or tax return, I did, I spoke with someone over the phone for an hour in mid July going over the paper work, one thing was missing, so I found it and faxed it. Assured that once it was received the issue woild be resolved. On the 13th of August, six weeks after the fact, I was told it was processed. Then on Monday the 16th I was told that the person working the case left and they would have to start the process over, which could take 30-45 days. So something that was there fault to begin with, will now take more than three months to fix. They have everything they need right in front of them, they have the notes from the previous worker, no reason it should take an additional month to month and a half to do it.

They arenu2019t helpful and it seems as though they go out of there way to screw people over. My dad owed them a few thousand dollars I got it resolved in 2017 when they started coming after me. Then they decided to start taking my tax return this year spoke to them in April where they verified it was a mistake I sent in a form. Spoke to them last week and they had no record of me coming in in 2017 or calling in April. Theyu2019re a joke

Staffing need to take classes on how to be more efficient and courteous when dealing with clients. An older sounding lady always answers the phone with a no care attitude with cut and dry answers rushing you to get off the phone. So unprofessional! She gives Danbury Social Security office a really bad name.

Yesterday, we went to get a new ss# for my mother in law. It went so smoothly. We love this place. Thank you for your service.

Staff is very rude, obviously if people are on SSI at a very young age it's because they are disabled. The supervisor spoke to me in such a nasty manner, I was offended. I advise if you want to be treated nicely go in at least 2 hrs before closing :,(

There is maybe 2 or 3 decent people workin here. The rest are in need of serious people skills! I was shocked not only by how I was treated but by I heard them talk to others. There was a tall, African American woman who treated people with such disrespect! Sheu2019s condescending and just down right nasty! I had taken a number and was waiting, I leterally threw my number out and went to the Waterbury office, and believe it or not, it was 1000 percent better! I did let the Waterbury office know how that woman treated and spoke to people, she seriously gives that office a baddddd vibe!

I truly hate going to this place as it is the epitome of a bureaucratic nightmare. Always tons of confusing paperwork, and it feels like no two people who work there know what the other is doing. Its like the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. This combined with the long wait times make for an unpleasant time all around.

Never had a good experience when coming here. Instead of leaving there with answers, they just give more headache. And calling their office?? Forget it! You're lucky if you can get through!

Well meaning perhaps, but no help getting a Medicare Booklet; referred to DC which asked meaningless questions and announced a 50 minute wait to talk to someone

despite an hour wait, which I was forewarned about so was ok, I just spoke to the nicest, clearest, best explainer of EVERYTHING. Thank you so much

Handed in paperwork then 3 weeks later said they never got it. Unorganized. Racist black ladies with attitudes.

(Translated by Google) They are one of the WORST office. They are supposed to provide you with information and help you and it is just the opposite. THEY ARE SO RESISTANT AND TREAT HISPANS SO BADLY, THEY HAVE AN INTERPRETER BUT IT'S WHEN THEY WANT TO USE IT I HAVE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES AND I HAVE BEEN LUCKY THAT ONE TO PUT ME AN INTERPRETER AND OTHERS TELL YOU GOOD CLEAR NO, WE HAVE NO WAY TO INTERPRETER YOU.
