Still on COVID protocols so everything takes a while (be prepared to line up outside for ~30 mins), but the staff are polite and helpful. I had to wait < 10 minutes for my ticket number to get called once I got inside. The young guy who handled my issue was friendly and professional and I got everything processed that I came in for. I came in at 2pm on a Monday, without an appointment.nnAfter reading the other reviews I was prepared for the worst, but the staff here are above average and I'm glad my nearest office is a good one.

I just spoke with a Customer service representative, Loren at the Denver Office. They were able to help me out and answer my questions quickly I and did not have to wait on hold for a long time. I have dealt with the Denver office numerous times and they have been awesome and always answered my call in a timely manner. Loren was the best, very knowledgeable and professional.

You need to answer your phones in a timely manner. I have been on hold for over 2 hours, and you donu2019t even have the curtesy of offering hold music. Itu2019s either this god awful beeping tone, or silence. I might get a ringing if Iu2019m lucky. This is beyond ridiculous. You are the worst SSA office in CO. And the bar is already on the floor, and you canu2019t even meet that.nnLa Junta SSA has better phone service and they are only open Monday-Thursday 9-12.nAnd Colorado Springs SSA has better customer service and there is one female worker who is just *nasty* and hateful.nAnd Compton CA SSA is more competent and they loose payments and pay the wrong people.

I have to let SSA LAKEWOOD, about receiving a package and sending it back to them, but how can I do so when they don't even pick up the phone and when they do, there's a forever silence and nobody on their end. I was like this for over an hour and never talked to a human. This office needs to be held accountable. People are missing on deadlines because of SSA inability to get it together and return calls to people. Enough with COVID excuses! I would rate -00000 if that was an option.

I am a professional working with people with disabilities statewide and must interact with this office on a regular basis. Out of all the offices in the entire state of CO, the Lakewood office is hands down the worst field office. 1) hangs up on people waiting on hold a very long time 2) Rude workers who seem to hate their job, so why are you employed there? 3) Do not provide requested paperwork, months and months will go by without any response or efforts. This office knows they've got you at their mercy and you cannot even beg them to do their jobs. 0/5 u2b50 if I had a choice.

I am writing this out of totally frustration. I have been calling for the past 3 months, twice a week. And i had waited on hold for 3+hrs. It is like nobody is working on the phone service. I need to get an appointment for in person application for new card, and the only way i could do it is thru the phone. I have lost my job because of this. Please lakewood office, put someone to answer the phone!!!

Took my ID when their site specifically says they should never take the original documents so now Iu2019m WEEKS without my ID and I canu2019t do ANYTHING!! Banks are refusing me, work is having issues, I donu2019t even know if Iu2019d be safe if pulled over. They should be holding true to their website and not taking originals for weeks. Thatu2019s not even logical.

We had some business to conduct regarding the adoption of our son. We waited in the outside line for about 20 minutes, and inside for about 10. Although there was some confusion about the nature of our request, ultimately the workers were able to help us. Katrina, helped us, and she was very quick, understanding, efficient, and friendly.
    Miguel Trujillo
The security personnel are unnecessarily rude. Standing at the door with hands on their weapon and an exaggerated offensive posture. The clientele of this facility should not have to be confronted with that. I had paperwork for a review of disability and wanted to take a number and wait. I made that request 3 times and was told to drop it in the mail slot.

Repeatedly refused and denied my SSDI ASL interpreter in person with paperwork and refused ALJ hearing request in person since February 2021 and illegally discrimination stopped my SSDI August 2021-now. They repeatedly refused to effective communication with accessibility in need assistance in person with ASL interpreter to help effective communication, read out and filling out paperwork forms. This is ongoing days, weeks, months and years.

Completely inept.nnWent to drop off an application in person and were told a birth certificate wouldn't do and that we needed a signed medical record instead. We got the record, drove back to the office (which is an hour away) and dropped off all the documents. We brought the birth certificate just in case and the staff there told us NOT to include it with our documents. Today we receive a letter stating our application was denied because the birth certificate is missing.

I was on hold for a representative for 1- 1/2 hrs. . At 4:30 I finally hung up and dialed back to find out that the office closed at 4:00. It would've been nice to get that message at 4:00 that they were now closed.
    Beth Abaye
Horrible customer service. The phone has been ringing for the past hour and no one is picking up. They need to fire whoever is supposed to pick up the phone at the local office and in charge of making an appointments so people can come in to get help. This is why republicans want to privatize government offices....no accountability and zero effectiveness!!!
    Aaron Smith
Worst service ever. Was told by the hospital who submitted my wife's disability application that no action was needed by my wife since we gave authorizing to the hospital to submit on her behalf. 4 months later we find that the office did not process it correctly and was never processed. This results in at least 5 months of payments that we cannot recoup. Avoid this office if you can.

I made a reservation by phone at 10am.nBut at the entrance, they said my name was not on the list.nI had to wait 2 hours outside in freezing cold weather.nThe entrance is locked and security guards are very overbearing.

If I could give zero stars; I would. My son applied for a replacement SS Card over a month ago and the national service line said it was mailed, but to call the local (Lakewood, CO) office to speak to someone there. After being hung up on by the automated system twice, and then on hold over OVER an HOUR... here I am writing this review. My son is trying to actually SERVE his Country by joining the Navy and they require an SS Card much like any employer, and he can't sign up until he gets this card! But no one at the Lakewood office will answer the phone to actually assist ANYone!

Horribe service, customer service doesn't know anything, I've literally applied to get a replacement card 3 times for my minor child, each time I'm given a different reason why I'm being denied. Customer service was checking on why, then I get hung up on after waiting for 30 minutes have to call back again and the customer service agent says he has no access to look up anything for me, No reason given why? Strange the last person was able to see why? Makes no sense. Why can't I get an appointment? MY son can't get his driving permit or a job without this social security card and a CO ID!!!! Super frustrating.

I have called the number to get an appointment every day for three weeks at precisely 9am. I am put on hold for twenty minutes then hung up on by the system. I attempted to go in to try to get an appointment, but was told by the security guard at the door no one was aloud in without an appointment and the only way to make an appointment was to call. Yup, that government efficiency at its finest.
    Charlie Deibel
Inefficient government work at its finest, especially in todayu2019s landscape. They instruct you to call to handle most business (because no one has worked in person at the office for 18 months now - and no they havenu2019t missed any paychecks either.) They instruct you to call to get service or make an appointment, but after a full week of calling, no one ever answers, and there is no voicemail option, the hold line just disconnects you. I could go on, but just picture the height of government worker laziness + inefficiency and youu2019ve got this place. Itu2019s not like they are a business we the people are choosing to work with - certain functions require us to interact with them, and they couldnu2019t make it any more inconvenient or unpleasant. ud83dudc4d

I called 2 months ago and was supposed to get an emergency appointment for my dad because he has stage 4 brain cancer. Still have not gotten a call even though they have assured me multiple times that they will be calling to schedule an appt for him.nMy poor dad has so many other things to worry about, but now he has to worry about not being able to pay his mortgage. Thank you guys for TERRIBLE service and making my dads last days even more miserable!!!!

It was VERY difficult get through to the office on the phone! Called in multiple times and waited on hold ALOT!nnBUT once I got through, I spoke with Sara and she was super nice and accommodating. She helped me with what I needed, so I didn't need to fill out any other applications or appt at the office. Thanks very much to Sara!
    George Witman
Called three times today. Never got through after following the prompts and waiting on hold. Went to the office. Was told by security that I can't be seen without an appointment and that the only way to make an appointment was by phone. I also found out that there are only two people who see those who've made an appointment. Nb, when you call to talk with someone (which is all I would have required), you are talking with someone working from home off site. I don't mind that, but why hasn't money been put into a phone system that works? Outrageous!
    Erik Montoya
I have been trying to contact this office for the past three days to no avail. Every time I call, I am put on hold for an absurd amount of time (an hour and five minutes is the longest I waited) and then it appears/sounds like someone picks up and then hangs up the phone and my call is ended. I understand COVID and all, but this is absolutely ridiculous. The only way to get into the office is by appointment, however, the only way to get an appointment is to call your local office and set one up.nNot Acceptable.
    Janel
If I could give 0 star I could. Iu2019ve been waiting over an hour for someone to pick up! And it sounds like someone picks up but I get put back on hold again and the automated system has to put me back through the queueu2026I called AGAIN and now itu2019s just silent!!!! Thereu2019s no one on the other end!!!nnUPDATE:Attempted calling again and was on hold, someone picked up and hung up on meu2026

**THEY WILL LOSE YOUR ID*** I wish I read the reviews before coming here. Recently got married and came here with my birth certificate, marriage license, and driver's license. Security office advises me to put all 3 in an envelope with my application and drop it in their drop box. I voiced concerns about driving without a license but Officer Cline said it would be fine. A week later I get a letter saying I never submitted my license, even though I absolutely did. Drove down there and the same Officer Cline was just stuttering about how it might show up in a few days. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS
    Lacey Gregory
worst service ever. I talked to multiple people was told different information. was told to send my License to them through the mail. the whole world is open but i guess the people that work here are more important than the rest of the world so their office can stay closed and not help anyone. All i need is something extremely simple. A name change after marriage. its been over a year and i still cant get it taken care of thanks for nothing.
    Stephen Filyau
I've tried to call 22 times been on hold most times 2hrs sometimes up to 3hrs NEVER did talk with anyone!!!!! good luck with these people...........
    Luis Souza
It has been over 4 months that I've been trying to get my name change after marriage and NOT A SINGLE HUMAN BEING picks the phone. That's ridiculous that a GOVERMENT AGENCY acts like this. Today I spent more 3h calling and nothing. That's insane. We are not asking for a favor, we need to do that in order to keep our lives going. Sad to see what they are doing with our taxes. Awful!!!!
    Ragena Kamees
Tryed to get my daughter's social security and the lady Katrina still hasn't responded to me about it they keep hanging up on me I need assistance and this is not helping any
    Henri Setiaji
As long as you know what you are doing, and you bring all necessary documents, you're good to go. Excellent service by all member.
