Can't walk in and no one paid to answer the phone at Vine St Hollywood SS office? On hold for 18 minutes each time then drops out. Never answer.nWhat's the point. Keep blaming covid for not answering. Other offices answer but you have to be in the zip code. Pathetic!

After 8 months of attempting to get additional benefits due to the death of her ex spouse, the Social Security office sent a letter stating that they had an appointment to call my mother-in-law at a specific date and time. They did not call. She tried to call them and was on hold for nearly an hour. Two days later she got through to a very rude woman who did not understand my mother-in-law's query. My husband stated, and I quote,With all due respect, ma'am, she answered that alreadyand the person hung up on my mother-in-law. English is not my mother-in-law's first language and she struggles to understand the complex Social Security system. This was completely unacceptable.

Called today 11/19/2021 at 3 pm PST, that was one of my worst experiences in my life. After waiting 30 min plus for the agent to respond i get a Lady (sounds like Asian) that wasnu2019t about to help me at all, was very rude and wasnu2019t able to answer to my questions. I guess we all might have bad days but when I asked her if she knows when the office gonna be open - she said mb tomorrow mb next year - what type of professional reply is that? I asked her where to get more particular info - she said go watch the news. After that she just hangs the phone without listening to me or without even saying u201cgoodbye, is it everything i can help u with todayu201d. The level of disrespect is enormous!! Never even said her name so we could know the hero. I got the supervisoru2019s extension, waited another 30 min and he never even replied to his phone, so i left a message but nobody called me back. I wonder what type of people u hire over there? This is governmental organization, we pay taxes to get disrespected on the phone and get our time waisted?

Vey very poor service. That is a big shame. They want you to call to make an appointment before coming in. But you call no one answer the phone, What kind of service is this?????ud83dude44

I work nearby, I cannot tell you how many (trouble with English, not tech savvy) elderly ladies come to my store saying thatThey cannot get an appointment unless make one online, or call. They don't know how to do anything online, so they call, and they never ever pick. I myself tried to help a client and they had me on hold for 45 min just for the call to end. I can't believe that this is a government building is being run so sloppy. People need help and they just plain don't care

Don't try calling or going here at the Hollywood location! They never pick up the phone and you have to make an appointment to be seen, but exactly how if they never answer?! I literally sat outside for an hour in my car just to try and call to make an appointment and still no answer, unfortunately I wasn't aware that These kinds of places are the worst nowadays when you're trying to take of business!

Because of COVID, the office required me to send in my original documents-like my drivers license to process my name change. I sent it over a month ago. When I hadnu2019t heard any updates, I called the office and one man told me it hadnu2019t been processed yet, then on another day, another man told me it was rejected because my supporting documents were insufficient and that they mailed my things back to me. When I explained I hadnu2019t received them, he took my number and said someone would call me because they should have been there. A week later-today, I called again. The woman who answered the phone was very rude and unhelpful. She said a supervisor would call me, but given my experience with this office, I doubt it.nnI usually do not write reviews, certainly negative ones. I donu2019t like doing that. However, I am so displeased with my experience with this office, I really would caution people from processing anything through this office in anyway. If there is another office near you, even if itu2019s not as close as this one, I would highly recommend you go to that one or mail to that one instead. It may be an inconvenience of distance, but it may save you trouble in the end.

I had a very positive experience at the SS Vine Street office. I had to get my SS details updated (and consequently get a new SS card) as I recently got naturalized. I arrived at the SS office 10 minutes past 9 AM and there was a line of around 15 people ahead of me. It took around 20 minutes to get through security (as some people had handbags etc., which the security checked thoroughly - they don't have X-ray scanners). The security staff were business-like, but polite.nnOnce through security, I grabbed my token and then had a wait time of around 15 minutes before I was called. The SS rep was polite and I was done in around 10 minutes (as she updated my details). All in all a very positive experience.

Talked with a lady to get a specific document, sounded like a middle eastern person. The attitude from this person made me wanting to place my whole arm through the phone line and ring her neck out.

Employees here are vulgar in behavior. Insulting and ridiculous.

Iu2019m very much disappointed after visiting this office today : security guards are terribly rude, they didnu2019t apologize when one of them opened my family memberu2019s handbag and her wallet got down on the floor. Guard refused to pick it up and give her. Also he inspected our handbags as if he was looking for bomb or snake in a medium size womenu2019s purse!!! We are honest people, and guards have to protect us, not to offend or terrorize us without any reason!!! We told him 3 times to be careful with our personal belongings but he ignored that. And he grabbed cent when it was dropped down from my relativeu2019s wallet !!! Yes, security guard picked up that coin and put it into his box!!! He should not take anything that doesnu2019t belong to him!nnRestroom is dirty and has no paper sitsnnWaiting line is very long. We waited for almost 50 minutes to submit a request for replacement card! Officer asked me 4 times to repeat my address! If she is deaf or unable to understand what is PO Box- she should not work there! Iu2019m not obligated to write why I prefer to receive card on PO box instead of street address, and her job is to file my information and send request to mail a card to me. She has to never ask people why they cut hair or have lost weight - as she asked us about that!nnWorst service, rude security guards and unprofessional employees - simply shame to city administration!

Very bad experiences here withing waits. Staff will always say you never did it. I'm only writing this review to tell people advise. I would give it - 00s if there was. I was given very poor instructions to do my medical review.nnKeep everything they send you. I mail everything with the date and keep it.nnAlso they have a form for everything including to keep you're payment. I have been told every time I asked. Many forms are on the website, the one about the payment is not. They never mail this form.nnDont believe anything the office says. I even wrote down names dates.nnIf you try and work even if it's not full time, mine was on call you can loose you're disability and they count you making 700$ a month even if it's only 100$nnThere rules are so confusing there own staff dont know or follow them. You can barely be able to pay rent.nnIt took three months just now to get a form for the payment. Two months later still nothing showing so maybe four months for a payment more. Its now Oct since the office called me in June. Nothing has been done to restart my payment even after signing the form. Seriously they just tried to say again I filled the payment form late even though I filled it out the same day I got it. This is just so absurd these people don't do there jobs and then say you didn't do it and they are still doing this. No more Mr nice guy when it comes to ssannThe office didn't finalize or accept things from my lawyer i had to do it all again all times so just because you sign it and the lawyer turns it in doesn't mean it's done.

Came to this office twice this week, today being the last, I have to say very impressed with everyone here. When I first walked in I was greeted by two security guards, who by the way were very nice and respectful. They are very professional and through, which made me feel safe. Not to mention the first time i came in a guy started to yell at an employee the guards responded quickly to deescalate the situation but the guy wasnt listening after they told him to leave, to make a long story short they had to arrest the guy which was entertaining to watch. Theres a kiosk self check in which is very easy and convenient. I waited about 15 minutes and was called to a window. I was helped with my business without delays by a respectful government employee (I was shocked). I recommend this office every time, wouldn't go anywhere else.

Decent customer service. It's government so I don't expect exceptional work or politeness. Waited about an hour and 15 mins to be seen for a replacement card but sat across from Robert Herjavec from Shark Tank so that made it completely worth it!!

I feel weird writing this, but a surprisingly pleasant experience... I had to order a replacement SS card and the system was efficient and everyone I interacted with was nice. This office stands as a retort to the neoliberal assertion that everything in the public sphere is doomed to wallow in its inefficiency. (The DMV still sucks, tho)

Every time I call or go to the office on Vine Avenue i get great response and service.nYour staff is very helpful, knowledgeable and nice.nI've been there for my mother, brother and myself. I was very disappointed. I waited an hour to sign up for my SSI retirement benefits and when called and got to window 4 today around 11:45 the woman told me that they had closed down that part for the day. I asked her why an she told me it was because the office was busy. I was shocked. Isnu2019t that what people sign in to do. EVERYONE I HAVE SPOKEN TO PREVIOUSLY AT OTHER OFFICES HAD SUCH GOOD EXPERIENCES. .Not me at this office.

Once again this office succeeds in being the biggest horse's butt that they can possibly be. The security guards are the worst and don't need an excuse to be rude and disrespectful, they just take the liberty to be so. Maybe 1 or 2 of the people in this office are not rude and mean when dealing with you, at least the window people are. A few of the people that work in the back are a little less mean. This office is not the case in which a few bad apples are ruining the experience, mostly the whole bunch are bad apples! I have frequently visited this office many times over the years and pretty much leave every time, cursing them under my breath for some reason or another, regardless of whether my business was handled or not. If the security decides that theydon't like youthey will stalk you around the office and try to escalate a problem so they can throw you out. The last time I visited I was attempting to settle an discrepancy with the direct deposit they had set up on my account in which they had actually been sending letters to the wrong address and suspended my benefits due to thinking I had moved and wanted correct address, which prompted the suspension. I had corrected the mistake and inquiry the week before, however the benefits had not been deposited when they were supposed to have been. The window clerk was incredible rude and refused to acknowledge any wrong doing, wouldn't give me any paperwork or her name. She wouldn't let me talk to a superviser and she closed the window in my face. After I reopen the window she calls security and they put their hands on me and forcefully pushed me toward the door. When I got to the dooredge I turned around and informed them that I would be filing a complaint against them. One of the security guards got in my face and demanded I leave the building. I then turned around and tripped over a sign in whih was arrested for kicking the sign over and assualting a security guard, even tho, neither of them had ever been touched by the sign or myself. I was released as soon as the federal police showed up and then given a PERMANENT BAN FROM EVER SOCIAL SECURITY OFFICE IN THE WORLD! Seriously tho, is that permanent ban incident or would it be more like a hey don't come back for the rest of the day type situation, even tho I had not done anything wrong except try to get paperwork showing what they were doing with my benefits. The office was on a mission to day to PERMANENTLY BAN someone, I guess just to glorify this horrible power. Land of the free, my butt, not with these people at the helm. Mention anything about your rights and you'll be arrested and made to prove you have rights.

I see a lot of negative comments here which is sad, because I found the security guards to not only helpful, but caring and well mannered. My wait time was no long than it was in any other SSI Office. For example I have lived in a few different areas over the past 5 years so I have been to the West Covina, Montebello and Glendale SSI Offices as well. November, 2017 while waiting for my case to be reevaluated somewhere in Pennsylvania I suffered a massive heart attack requiring Triple Heart Bypass Surgery at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center. As my condition had now changed for the worse I called the Vine St. Office and they set an appointment for me. I was rather surprised that they said rather than wait for the Pennsylvania Office decsicion, they could just open a new case and reevaluate me on the spot, but the process could take between 60-90 minutes. It took about 60 minutes and I must say that I am neither Russian, Armanian, nor Hispanic as one man complain here in the comments. The staff was in fact sensitive to my needs and saved me future trips to the SSI Office. I am thankful for the wonderful customer services that I received at the Vine Street SSI Office.

I mailed my 2 cards to their office for them to fix their mistakes but they mailed only 1 card back to my address. A woman on the phone was rude and screaming and yelling all the time

The security guard (appeared Indian) was very unprofessional and rude. I asked for a supervisor, but he ignored my request. I was unable to fill a complaint. I am hurt, and I will always avoid this office.

I wasn't treated fairly because I couldn't get them to take my payment for the government and I watched them take several people payments at one window but they took me to 3 windows and acted like the machine was broke down and when I told them I see what you're doing trying to stop me from paying the government the security guards were harassing me when I was discussing my personal business at the window they took my license plates number down because I was sitting in parking lot writing acomplaint and every since I told them that I was working they have been mean to me and I never said anything but after they wouldn't accept my payment I had to write a review that they are harrassing me and wouldn't accept my payment and the security guards hit my car window and kicked me off the property and I am tramatized by the way I was treated. Thanks
