You will have a better luck getting to someone helpful from another SSA office nearby. Donu2019t waste couple months of your precious time like I did.

Worst service I never experience. When I called, they were very rude and hang up if I speak slowly.

I have contacted the Brea office a few times for assistance and find all the personnel to be so very helpful and wonderful to work with. They put a BIG SMILE on my face.. Thank you for smiling back at me and helping me resolve the issue I was dealing with on my Medicare.

Great office. Small but comfortable. I've been 3 times and wait usually 20 minutes (without appointment). The staff are helpful and able to answer questions. So much about SS and Medicare that's confusing it really is important to talk with someone. Big thanks to Brian Anderson who is so nice and helpful.

They require appointments now and no longer takes walk-in.nYou will have to queue outside the building to wait for your turn which is super hot.nnAwful.

This office is easy to see from the front if you're entering from one direction, not so easy to find from the back where the parking lot is located. Find it on the street before parking to know where to go. (I don't enjoy having to go through several areas to find an office.) I took a number once inside and started to fill out paperwork. I was called before completing them and found I didn't need to finish them as they had full and complete records on me. I had filled out the paperwork 20 years ago for a name addition and nothing had changed since then. I would have liked to have gotten my replacement card then and there, but they are mailing it to me within 5 days, so I can live that. I was treated kindly and respectfully by the service rep., which was a relief in my freaked out mood from tearing my house apart to find my card.

I'm writing this because the nice young man who helped me was...how do I say this nicely...not very good at his job. At all.nI had an appointment to go over some paper work and fix a possible overpayment issue. And instead of just looking at the paperwork and helping me with my issue he decided toexplainto me that sometimes information doesn't get recorded correctly, that somtimes, for whatever reason an employee at the SSA may make mistakes, and how they don't have enough employees to get all the work done... Blah blah blah. When I told him I didn't need an explanation I just needed to fix the problem, he, for some reason felt threatened, and I was warned that he can have ourinterviewterminated at anytime for any reason and that he hopes he wouldn't have to call security.nI decided to pull out my phone for audio recording purposes and asked/demanded at least a hand full of times for him to have his supervisor to assist us with our growing issue. He did start communicating to her and when I asked why it was taking so long he againexplainedhe was typing with her and read us something out of what I can only assume was an employee handbook about what my rights to record our interaction were. At this point my girlfriend asked me to step outside to catch my breath. I did this as well as told the security guard what was happening and he was more than helpful at doing his part to resolve the issue as best he could. When I went back to the Nice Young Mans cubicle his boss was there and assisting in fixing our issue. Which was all I wanted in the first place. I didn't need to know the inner workings of the SSA and I didn't need to be reminded that security was available and that cameras were all around. I did need help fixing an important issue I was having due to mistakes that were made on behalf of the SSA. I should not have had to ask for his supervisor at all nor should I have to hear some excuse for why errors occurred, ERRORS OCCURRED.nnLet's just fix itnnThat's all I wanted!nnThanks for your help Sam...smh

December 10, 2019 my wife and I visited this office. After long waiting from 0225pm to 0345pm, window #2 called us. The rude lady told us that she cannot handle our case and we must go to Anaheim office. I lost my hours for nothing. I am afraid that Anaheim office would tell us the same story, go to Norwalk office. ud83cudf83

I was out of there in 10 minutes. Everyone was super nice and Clinton was really helpful. Go about 30 mins before opening to avoid a wait inside.nnUpdate: received replacement ss card in one week!

Terrible experience. The wait just to check in was two hours waiting in line standing up outside. The wait inside for them to call our number was another 45 minutes. All for the representative to very rudely tell us that the ID for my 7 month old was not sufficient. If you are requesting a duplicate SS card for an infant make sure the Dr record is actually a stamped letter from the Dr and not just a medical document as stated on the website.

I have love for this office and its employee's everytime I have needed them they pulled me thru. I will tell you if you go in morning plan to be there several hours. But if you have all your documents they are more than willing to cooperate in assisting you and your needs. Hats off to Brea SS office. Thank you

Mrs. Campos was so friendly and quick to process my requests. I expected to spend the better part of my day here after seeing the wait but I only waited about 10 minutes and was greeted by such positivity and efficiency. Security officer was cheerful also. Thank you!!!

Very bad experience with the family with young kids, I been there to apply the new SSN card and after waiting 2.5 hours outside the SSA office the old inside told me you canu2019t apply here as address showing yucca valley, I explain that I called SSA call center and over the phone they told me to go any SSA office but old lady was very rude and refused to talk further on this and give the SSA address for the Yucca Valley which is 160 miles from the current location, totally unacceptable!! Not sure how to complaint about her attitude and behavior, how she can misguided and treated people like this...

Small office: 35 chairs, 5 clerk windows. Self check-in kiosk. I got married and needed to change my name. I went at 2 PM on a Friday and was in and out in 10 minutes!!! I had the form filled out ahead of time. It's only one page. It is refreshing that the name change service is free :)nnOrange county government buildings are SOOO much better than anything in Los Angeles!!

I phoned today the S's office and was connected to a woman Kathy. I can only say that she was the most helpful person, patiently she explained the needed information to me and took all my anxiety about the application process away. My highest regards to her. Thank you very much for your help. The Social. Security Administration has a real jewel in Kathy. Thank you very much. H.Kuhl

Every time I have gone to this office my wait time has been short, (15)min,without an appointment. The people I talk with have been very helpful and efficient as opposed to getting what I want when I have called on the phone.

I applied for Medi-Cal online yesterday, Susan Montoya called me this morning and told me what to do. I went to the office right away, it was done in a few minutes. Susan is so nice and helpful, she is the most efficient public servant I have ever met, two thumbs up.nnBy Weida Chen

Missed and was marked late/noshow,nFor an appointment that I was actually 15 early but was delayed due to the mismatched and longer than nec can line to get into the actual lobby,nWhich was the cause of me missing my appointment,nAlso this particular social security office isn't really accessibe to get to via the bus (public transportation) like the Anaheim social security office is,nWith a small cramped stuffy waiting area inside and outside the Brea social security office
