    Everyone dreads over going to the SS office, based on the reviews I can understand why which is why I wanted to share my great experience. I got there at opening and was seen within 10 minutes of being there. I wish I would have caught the name of the young lady that was helping me but she was wonderful. She went out of her way to help me, she was kind and patient with me...window #18 THANK YOU for your wonderful customer service. The security guards were extremely friendly and helpful. And PS it did not stink!

    I came here today just to update my daughters middle name, filled out the form online was then told they wonu2019t accept my documents just to update the name on my daughters card. I wish I took her name down but she was at window 4(04/27/2022). I literally told her how to do her job because she said she couldnu2019t access my form but she input the control number wrong. Basically brushed it off making it like it wasnu2019t a big deal or any of her concern and acted as if she had some empowerment. She told me u201cyou can just come back tomorrowu201d we live an hour away my husband had to meet me after he got off work just to sit with the kids in the car because I tried to be considerate of not having them there in the waiting room. Definitely needs to be more informed on how to perform her job if someone has to tell her how to do it. Also social security should make it extremely clear on what they take or donu2019t take instead of having people wasting their time.nnUpdate: went to a different office & they accepted the original documents I had. Donu2019t go here if you want to deal with people who donu2019t know how to perform their job correctly or just want to make your life harder. Take the time to train your employees better. That being said go to the puyallup office way better customer service,extremely professional & efficient.

    If I could give negative starts I would. I called before hand to ask how I go about changing my name being I saw that the office is closed and the person told me to just go down to the office and change it in person no appointment needed. Well I make it down there on one of my only days off and get stopped at the door asking if I have an appointment. Wth. I say no and they tell me I need an appointment smh or I could just drop off my documents my ORIGINAL documents my actual drivers license?? Okay no. This is absolutely ridiculous. I did my part by calling to get the rights steps on how to change my name and they failed me. The person at the door was no help and so I went to my car to call the number to speak w someone again and Iu2019m hold for 20mins and then the call goes to dead air.     I just called them for 2 months, after 2 months calling every day at least 1 hour a person pick up the phone, she told me go fill up form SS5!!!!! call back again!!!!!!!nI told her, I will fill it. please give me an appointment but she said NO!!!!!! you need to have this form at your hand!!! I told her do you have appointment for today? she said u201c no I donu2019t! I told ok then, I will go fill it up please give me appointment for next month. she saidu201dNo!!!!!! you need to have it ready right now!!!! then I give you appointment!!!!     Went in to office in Kent for name change and never received card. I have called this office and was told they would send it again and still do not have the card. I then called again and to much time has passed so I have to go in and reapply?nFrustrating! I will not go back to that office!

    They close early and the hours are not reflected online. They donu2019t pick up their phones and itu2019s somehow your fault that you didnu2019t know they close early. The drop box u201cclosesu201d at 3pm. Very frustrated that I dove an hour to be turned away because they cannot clearly communicate their hours of operation.

    Got there early... Security guards were super nice and friendly. Office worker was ready even earlier than our appointment. Got in and out for a new social security card application for non immigrant on L1 visa in less than 7 minutes! Incredible customer service. The key was just getting an appointment on phone. Took a little to get through to a human... But once we did it was a great an easy experience.

    This Office never answers their phone. You can call them at 8 a.m or 4 p.m. Our tax dollars at best. Please don't waste your time. If you can avoid this office please do so.

    Impossible to get the phone answered and scheduled the appointment, this is very disappointing and frustrating, the SSA office must have some alternative methods to schedule the appointments why should it be only over the phone that never get answered?     Calling in to speak to an agent is impossible. Phone kept on ringing, but there's no one answer your call. Waiting for 45 minutes, the line got disconnected. Bad! Very bad! Very very bad!

    EDIT 6/11/21 - Changing my review from 1 star to 4 stars based on the help I received this morning.nI spoke with Mr.Sanchez this morning and he was able to process my name change on the phone, while giving me a timeline of when I would receive my receipt and my new card. Thank you, Mr. Sanchez, I appreciate your help and good attitude.n-------------------------------------------------------nI called the toll-free number first which connected me to a representative who was helpful but he directed me to the Kent store regarding paperwork I sent in last week. He transferred my call and then I was disconnected within three minutes. So I called the Kent store directly and waited 15 minutes to speak to an associate. They saidHello, how can I help you?and I stated my name and what I was calling about and then it was just silence. I waited because it sounded like there was background noise and I saidhello?multiple times but heard nothing back. I waited another 15 minutes in silence. I used my work phone to call again and waited 15 minutes and never got through. A total of 45 minutes for no help. A bit disappointing. While it may not be this specific location's fault - there has got to be a better and more efficient way to get help.

    I can't speak for the other reviewers problems since I never tried calling this place. But I read horror stories about the Bellevue SS office so I tried kent instead. My papers arrived to the office on a Thursday. I got everything back the next Tuesday. I got my new card today on a Friday. So really quick turn around and everything was accounted for.

    Look, I get that this kind of job isn't the most enjoyable job in the world. But if you are working anything customer service related or just working with people in general you know you have to talk to people! Being rude to everyone that calls and asks a question is ridiculous. You might be having a bad day but so could the person on the phone. I called yesterday and was on hold a total of 1.5 hours just to be greeted by a rude woman who made it sound like I was asking stupid questions and didn't have any patience with me. I am tired of people being rude in a field that requires them to talk to others. If you don't like it, leave. If you need the job, figure out how to be kind to those you're speaking to.

No answer, on hold forever and when you do get through, no one is on the other end and then you get disconnected or you just get disconnected while on hold.nThis is how our government is going to work these days, just keep us waiting.

    I emailed and left a message for applying new Social Security Card for 16 years old daughter 2 weeks ago, no response yet! I called and machine told me wait next 15 min to 20 min, now I am holding over 1 hour 42 minutes, still holding!nI think it should go out of business!

    This office took about 4 years to process my application and then another 4 months to notify that a medical decision had been made classifying me as disabled but still haven't told me exactly what that disability is and now that my car has completely died and I have submitted an emergency request for funds from that nearly 50 months of back pay for the benefite from when I first applied this time, they have not answered the telephone for 3 straight days regardless of how long I dit here listening to the phone ring before I just give up and call the 1 800 number that tells me to call my local office before I do it all over again. Ridiculous and completely unacceptable. Now i can't even give them the no star review that I want to because it won't post anything less than 1 star

    The guard doesn't wanna help, if you call the number you can be on hold for 2 hours and than they will hangup start all over. You talk to the guard he will sayyou just waited 2 hours people wait for 5 hours,that's nothingreally bad service no one wants to help you here. If you really wanna waste your time go there.
