Ive been with Social Security for awhile and ive been paying a overpayment back that I wasn't even responsible for that time of year and they never credit the money being tooking out my check each month its been stuck 1500 for months and if I say something about they try act like im not understanding (super sick) and if it does get credited they only make look like its going down then stop then come up with another reason why im paying back an over payment that I wasn't responsible for at the time then I end up getting backpay after awhile when others over review my case and figure out the mistakes being made

It's ok, just no contact with employees other than phone, which causes lack of communication when trying to get simple tasks done like changing your name when you get married. Shouldn't have to go without original copies for so long hoping you'll get them back..

I have never had to work with this office for issues relating to myself, but have had experiences with them over the years helping out a family member. Ultimately everything needed was taken care of (up to this point) which is why I am doing 3 stars instead of less. Some advice and feedback I would give is that the employees here need to have better UNDERSTANDING and EMPATHY when working with their clients. Many people who require SSA services are disadvantaged individuals who have varying levels of functioning and abilities. Especially when working with individuals needing help with SSI more patience, tolerance, and understanding should be given to those individuals (as well as the family helping guide them through this process). There have been too many instances to count where they have came across as rude and arrogant and not willing to go above and beyond to assist. Hiring some employees with a social work history and training is a recommendation I would make.

I've tried for 3 months to get a replacement social security card for my minor daughter. I'm constantly given the run around. I never receive an answer. I was told I would need to speak to Mrs. W....... and every time I call and ask to speak to her I'm told that she isaway from her desk I've left multiple messages and never get a return call. Asked for an appointment to come in and was told no. I called the main line to issue a complaint. The lady looked up my daughter's file and said her request was not even processing 3 months after all needed info was submitted. I was told this was a simple process and she didnt understand why noone would help me it's unfair that this social security office can treat people in this manner. My daughter had a job waiting for her and she is losing money because noone will assist us.

Literally did exactly what they told me to while on the phone then they denied my request. Iu2019ve been denied 3 times and each time I called and asked what I was doing wrong. They told each time to add new information and I did and still did not receive my daughters new social security card. Fed up with this. Court was a lot easier than this. Itu2019s crazy.

Would give zero stars if I could.nnNever received a SS card for my 6month old daughter so I visited this office to apply for replacement. I did my homework before arriving, making sure I filled out the application, brought my daughter's birth certificate and pediatric records (hospital records as well), and my VA issued ID.nnThe first lady acted like she didn't want to be there and I am pretty sure she didn't help anyone all day. I had 5 people in front of me, all of which she found an issue with their paperwork or application. When it was my turn, I got turned away too because my pediatric records were not stamped by the pediatrician (?).nnSo I went home and found a stamped medical document and returned. Sat for another 30 minutes, only to be denied again. I was told to take my daughter to a local doctor and get a wellness checkup and get it stamped, then they could process it.nnSo, to be able to afford to take my daughter to the doctor, I need to add her to my insurance. To add her to my insurance, I need her SSN. To get her SSN, I have to (apparently) take her to the doctor and pay out of pocket for an exam so the SS Office will process my replacement application.nnBlow that out your ***, Wytheville SSA.

This was by far the worst experience I've ever had hands down. The rude lady, and I use that word loosely at the window was by far one of the most arrogant, condescending persons I've ever come into contact with in my 30 years in public service. I felt so bad for the poor people who's only option was to deal with her today. If ever I've seen someone that needs to be relieved of their duties its this lady. Someone needs to step up and create an environment more friendly for all that are forced to go to this branch. Elderly people, well all people, deserve more respect. Please contact your legislators, congressmen to complain. Unbelievable.

Laziness! Asked them for a month to mail me something & called twice a week n was told that they already mailed the information to me. They Lied! I had to walk across town with a baby because they were to lazy to mail me something I kept asking for. I almost lost my apartment due to their lies, telling me something was mailed when they didn't mail anything. ud83dude20 they catch an attitude when asked to do the slightest thing. How hard is it to mail something? Seriously...

This is the absolute worst social security office Iu2019ve ever dealt with! Theyu2019ve not done their job properly and 3 times my social security has been pulled saying they overpaid me. I never had any issues with the Roanoke office when I lived in Montgomery county. This place needs to either have the staff entirely replaced or be shut down altogether because Iu2019m not the only person thatu2019s had issues with these people. ud83dudc4eud83cudffb

SSA is by far one of the worst places to have to deal with. The office in Whytyeville is awful. The workers there are nothing but a bunch of smart as$es. There is usually only one woman at the desk, and she is very rude. I feel sorry for anybody that has to deal with SSA for anything.

My recent visit to the Wythville office was a pleasant and helpful experience. I could not have been pleasednMs. Whitlow was so helpful and compassionate to my issue. I would give 10 stars if I could. Thank you Ms Whitlow and Wtheville Office of Social Security.

The rudest woman I have ever met. She will not help at all, instead she tries to put all the blame on you. I'm not going to say any names but anybody that has ever dealt with this woman knows she is no good. She needs to be moved, terminated or something. Reminds me of Judge Judy.

My experience here was totally rediculous...spoke to one lady at first ...she was very polite & had respect!!! But the second don't even know what Planet she is on...let along Dont know what her job is...very rude & acted like she was sitting on a cactus!!!! Think she needs to go to hardcore ANYTHING!!!! Terrible hours . Closed at 12:00p.m. on Wednesday! You would think a government institution for the people would be open 9:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday. No this is not the case. Only 9a.m. to 4 p.my Monday through Friday then closed on Wednesdays at 12 in the afternoon. Then, when they are open you will wait HOURS to be called. Seems to me that they could and should be doing much better.
    Lana Quist
Horrible office. Went in, received my ticket, after 40 minutes of waiting with a full lobby on a Wednesday where they only have 3 hours of operation- a former employee came in and the only woman working at a window sat and talked to her for over 10 minutes instead of helping anyone. Huge waste of time and horribly inefficient.
    Brandon Dellinger
2 hour wait when only 3 numbers were called in the 2 hour time frame. If you do not have to visit the office then STAY AWAY!! This place is worse than the DMV!!!
    Kathy Lilly-Whelan
Oh you all are so low life... you set up an appointment for my mom to get her retirement. You call as you said, she keeps saying hello, hello, hello and you hang up... LOW LIFE, SUM BAGS .. AND YOU DON'T CALL BACK...POS, YOU ARE.
    Rhonda Ramsey
