I also have delayed and dreaded changing my last name since getting married 1.5 years ago due to the issue with appointments and unanswered phone calls.nWell, now that walk-ins are accepted, I showed up around 2:45 this Friday and was leaving by 3:10. Unbelievable. ud83dudc4fud83cudffcnThe process was very organized, and service was friendly. They are requiring masks and enforcing social distancingud83dude10, but they made it about as painless as possible. I appreciate the easy visit, thank you all!

If you plan calling them, make sure to get the popcorns, turn on television and watch some good one hour show as they are not gonna pick up the call in one go. Each time you'll have to wait for half an hour or so on line and later the call will get disconnected automatically.nnSomehow I could get and appointment and when I visited the office, the officer was very rude and he did not let my companion sit with me. My companion was assigned by my company as I was new to USA but the officer did not listen to him. (_awkward situation_)nnTons of windows in SSA office but very few of the employees are available to serve you. Wait times are higher. Scheduling an appointment itself takes ages and they wont give you an early appointment as compared to other SSA offices.nnGet ready to be frustrated.

I was dreading changing my last name after getting married. I showed up with no appointment an hour before closingu2026 and they still had me in and out in 10 minutes! Everyone was incredibly kind and helpful from start to finish. Iu2019m blown away! Thank you so much.

Zero stars is more accurate! All I'm trying to do is figure out what to send in for a name change due to a marriage a year ago. The documents needed change per county, as I discovered today. No one answers the phone!! It is automatically disconnected after a few minutes and then I have to call back, which doesn't work either. It's a never ending cycle. They should have a designated person to answer the phone just for information or open the building up for appointments again.

I absolutly would not give this location any stars. My childs father passed away in early November. I contacted SSI shortly after, they stated I had to have an appointment inorder to submit my application to call back everyday at 9 to try and obtain. I was finally able to complete my phone application on December 17th. At that time Mrs. Kennedy stated that she was able to process by sons application but to please allow her 30 days to try and contact any additional parties. Well 30 days has come and gone. I have attempted to contact Mrs. Kennedy several times for a status update, left several voice mails asking for a call back, several associates sent multiple emails to her Mrs. Kennedy, to her boss Mrs. Montono and to Mrs. Montono's boss Mrs./Mr, Reyes. As of today I still have not received a call back from any of the parties involved. You spend hours on the phone on hold only to be told we are not abel to help you. I would never recommend this office to anyone.

Have never posted a negative review for anything but after waiting for 30 minutes on hold on the phone with my mother to make a simple address update which os needed to change her Medicare plan, the customer service woman who answered proceeded to ask my mother a series of questions which took her a few seconds to recall due to memory issues.nI said that was why I was helping her and I could answer to the question. The woman abruptly said u201ccall us back when she has the informationu201d and before we could react, hung up on us. This was one of the most frustrating experiences Iu2019ve had and is totally insensitive and unacceptable way to treat a senior citizen. I doubt the bureaucrats running the place read this but if so, there is no call for this rudeness.

I would give 0 stars or negative stars if possible, but I am forced to give at least one star. After two previous calls in which I has on hold for 15 minutes or more and never get to speak to anyone, I called to schedule an appointment. Someone who did not share her name but said that she was senior manager and who worked with the SSI question that I had for son with Down Syndrome who is turning 18 said I needed to schedule his appointment in January. I politely and calmly asked her what day in January could be the first day I could call for an appointment. She said she could not tell me because of the holiday. I asked her would it be possible for her to check her calendar for next month and let me know what day was their first day back. With a gruff tone, she replied,Sir, I just told you that we will be on a holiday.I said politely, I understand you will be on a holiday, but I am asking what day you return to work so I can put on my calendar when to call back. In an even angrier tone, she said,Sir I have already told you I will be on a holiday and I do not know.So I said politely again, if you do not know what day you will be back at work for me to call, then how will I know? Then she angrily hung up on me. With that first impression, I dread calling back in January and having to deal with her again.

Dear OfficernI ve visited office today -05/03/2022- to replace my SS Card with unrestricted SS card. I ve an approval Letter and new I 94 for my new status .nFirst of all as a federal office you are all Public Servants and have serve people as a human being . It is Better to be kind to People. No need to be rude and disrespectful. When you are talking with them Please look at their face and make an eye contact . NO is not the answer for all questions . Please check the paper which people show you . Please accept that you can not know everything , Sometimes answer can be Let me check - Let me ask my supervisor .nI ve tried to explain you SSA POMS RM 10211.205 . You did not listen .Your answer is Me or My Attorney is not working for SSA You re the person who works for SSA and you know all the paperwork about that issue.nThe Officer on Counter 5 and and the Supervisor on the entrance ; You both feel myself totally down and took my two hour today.nIf there is a manager in that office I want to hear . I am going to visit that office with my Attorney and start my process again.nThank you .

At first- I was shocked by the person who took my call, because he said I had to call back everyday to see if their were available appts.nAs a teacher for 25 years , I cannot even imagine telling a parent that.nLong story short- a very professional gentleman called me back later and apologized. I then received a call from a super intelligent lady who assisted me with widows benefits. This was Sept 28. I was told I am approved but my app isnu2019t showing that. But as someone explained, they process over 1200 claims a month. So Iu2019m confident my claim will be processed soon.nI appreciate the 2 people who assisted me. I imagine they all get overwhelmed sometimes.

Called they answered and got silence I hope the person on the other side loved hearing a disabled person crying because I'm trying to fix a problem that's not my fault and they took my funding for no reason! Update. Answered again but it just rang like it switched over to another line then said no one can take yoyr call right now. Excuse me? What you people do is 100% cruel and should be ILLEGAL. This office should be looked into I've never been treated so poorly! I'm mentally disabled and they took my funding away because can't remember STIMULUS MONEY CANNOT BE COUNTED AS INCOME.

Made a call regarding a letter received from them, was explaining the reason for the call, representative was so intimidating and just blurt outu201d do you speak English?!u201d. I dealt with customer service and I know how to interact with people, having a position in the government office does not give you the right to insult or disrespect your customer. Beyond poor customer service as I would rate my experience ud83dude1e

Very rude and disrespectful one lady I didnu2019t get her name will hang up in your face before you can even finish your sentence. Need new employeeu2019s with professional customer service experience. Been trying to get an appointment for almost two months smhnnUpdate: was told to send in my daughter original birth certificate took it down. And havenu2019t seen it since itu2019s been three months. I was told it was mailed back to me the next day still havenu2019t received it. So take my advice and do not give them your original important documents. And no one seems to care I was told to just order another one. I have been to many different ssc offices and many different states by far the worst of them all.

We had to call to take an appointment. It was not a long wait on the phone. Once we had the appointment, the visit was smooth. We were asked to seat for a while and then the documentation process with the Agent was smooth.

We had a phone call appointment to enroll for the benefit. Mr. Nguyen processed our application, and he is so gentle, courteous, patient and helpful. He explained all the details of the process and answered all the questions we had. We really appreciate for all your work and help, Mr. Nguyen !

They have absolutely no idea what is going on. Since I can't make an appointment with them, I have sent in my items for a name change three times now and each time I call to make sure I have the right documentation, and each time I get a different answer. They have made this process burdensome.

I came at the very end of the day and got in and out within about 10 minutes! Very quick and friendly service from the woman at Window 4.

Hard working public service employees perform their tasks in public view. Limited seating does indeed take a toll but the martinet security guard ensures that everyone obeys common sense rules.nnNo food or drink permitted inside.nnOnce your number is called you will understand that it is indeed a busy place but the person working with you is reasonably efficient. The fact is that quite a bit of the tasks can be done online or with the official mobile app. It would be worthwhile to explore these options before appearing in person at the office.

My new wife and I had to come here to change her last name. When we arrived 15 minutes before the doors opened, there was already a line.nnWe made sure we had all of our necessary documents and forms already filled out. We were about 30 people deep in the line and it took about 30 minutes from when they opened the doors.nnI recommend you go early and come prepared. If you do this, you can get in and out quickly.

Originally was going to leave 1 star although it has been like yanking teeth to get my daughters social security number.nNever got her card in the mail, here it is 4 months later, still nothing. I had set up an appointment due to urgently needing her number for a passport. The lady told over the phone I had an appointment and to bring x items with me.nI wasgentlyturned away by the officer at the front and was told I wasn't onthe list.. by the way he was very courteous and patient-- I'm not the type to get irate when very clearly it wasn't his fault. I understand he has to deal with a lot of upset people especially during thepandemiceveryone is stressed and business are short staffed.nAfter talking with Jason on the phone the same day(waited 20 minutes on hold) he chuckled and said I see you on the list and proceeded to have the lady I spoke with over the phone tell the officer I was on the list and it was a mistake on their end.nI hope this helps someone. It is very frustrating dealing with them but being patient with them-- they are doing their best!

it is the worst experience ever, they disregard you, you have to make an appointment to see them, but they would not bother with phone calls, they drop all your calls, they take tax money and not do a penny of service to tax payers, too bad there is no zero star selection.
    NaTasha
They lost my passport and no one answers the phone to even report it to. Literally terrible. When will government jobs be replaced with AI or modern technology?

1 STAR IS 100 TOO MANY; IT DESERVES MINUS BILLION STARS !! I DON'T THINK THESE HELLHOLES ARE WORKPLACE FOR HUMAN BEINGS. IF THEY ARE HUMANS THEY ARE A DISGRACE TO HUMANITY. THIS TRASH HAS TAUGHT ME ONE IMPORTANT THING....THAT IS, NEVER EVER VOTE TO ELECT SCOUNDRELS.

You have to make an appointment. You can't just show up. Unless you have exigent circumstances it could be a few weeks. So plan ahead. Get any forms or information online or call ahead and show up prepared. Huge difference. In comparison to the 1hr wait lines before, my visit was 15 minutes
    Pamela Gozdecki
I had to stay on hold for a long time but it was worth it. A very efficient, friendly agent (last name Nguyen) answered my questions, explained what I needed to do, and solved my problem. Very impressed.
    Omar AL hamad
They won't take you in unless you have appointment. No online option and their phone never answer when you try to call to make the appointment. To many ppl setting in the parking lot can't go in for not having appointment while there's no one inside to be served.
    Mayra Rdz
This place has the most absolute worst costumer service I've experienced. I rarely post anything negative or positive, but the lady that assisted me was extremely rude and didn't give me the information that I asked for and completely would cut me off by repeating the same thing over and over again until she hanged up. I hate that I have to even call again.

Excellent staff, so helpful and professional. If you are concerned about improved access to social security ask your congressman to increase the SSA's funding.

This office does not want to help. Office hours are too short for a federal office. And they always insist on appointment no matter what the circumstance is.
