C.Williams the security guard is the most inconsiderate, unhelpful, uncaring person at this location. I came to this location to order a social security card for my son. It's 50 degrees outside. He made me stand in the cold. I asked for an application. He said this location doesn't have any. After I contacted someone at the 855 number after over 15 attempts. I was told they do have an application. Then and only then did C. Williams give me an application. He's rude, uncaring, lack customer service skills, nasty, and doesn't deserve to work with human beings.

First call hung up on. Second call, man incredibly RUDE. Wouldn't listen to my questions and said he needed originals that I can not give so he very rudely said I'll just have to wait until they decide to open ignored my request for an appointment. Horrible, horrible service. Interrupted and had attitude problem the whole call so I told him the better call was where I got hung up on! Jerk.

So let's get this straight, appointments and going inside are ONLY for special circumstances. They allow people inside the building for 2 hours out of the day to use the drop box, but ONLY in the middle of the day, making people leave work to drop papers off instead of maybe leaving a dropbox for anytime use. Why not just start taking regular walk ins again?

The people who provide customer service over the phone are the rudest I've ever talked to. They will scream at you over the phone when you've done nothing to them. I've had to prepare myself for it every time I've had to unfortunately call them.
    Anita Langston
This office does NOT have a dropbox available during regular office hours. It is only available between 11am to 1pm. This information is not on their website that states clearly that they are OPEN. Even though people are in the office, no one comes to the door to receive the envelope that is required when applying for benefits. The person that finally answered the phone simply hung up without trying to solve the issue. Some of the worst customer service.

Customer service is below a negative zero! The lady was extremely rude during the phone call with attitude!

My experience was based off getting a replacement card. They open at 9am, but I was there at 8:30am. There was already a line but, I was the 13th person in line so no big deal. The security officer was so incredibly nice and helpful. She gave us helpful directions and helped us sign in. I was in-and-out in 9 minutes. The lady who helped me with getting replacement card was really nice too. Pleasant experience for my first. I went in thinking the worst.

So rude... no care about your questions. I was just inquiring about a new social security card for my daughter. I understand that the office is closed due to COVID-19 but that is no excuse for rudeness. We all are going through trying times right now. I am an essential worker. Working in the healthcare field through the pandemic. I have not missed a day of work or volunteering for my city. I feel so bad for people inquiring about serious problems.

I called this SS office and was shocked at how rude the woman who took my call was. She sounded like a 5yr old and was over talking me and even chastising me. I spoke calmly and wasnu2019t long winded but she behaved like I was putting her out. Appalling behavior by a person whou2019s job is to help along with showing some type of patience and compassion. She should be fired and should not be in a public service job. Iu2019ll be filing a complaint with the state and my local congresswomanu2019s patient advocacy representative.

Absolute worst experience while talking with Mrs.Wilson over the phone! She was so very rude & condescending.I cannot believe employees can get away with speaking to people as she did. Knowing these calls are recorded they should be monitored daily! It is inexcusable.

Went in today to get a new social security card and experienced very poor customer service although the security guard was very professional. This should have been an exciting moment for me, because I just got married. As soon as I stepped up to sit down at the window the attendant was disrespectful. I corrected her on an issue and she began to argue with. I kept a smile the entire time. She was taking Tylenol sayingI don't got time for this today( talking to her coworkers). If you don't want to be at work then please don't go. Leave your personal issues at home. I just wonder how many people she treats like this everyday. Please, help this office work on customer service skills to keep their jobs that my taxes pay for! She was in booth A with a short hair cut , with some old honey blonde in it, in an old green shirt at work.

A lady window agent was so mean looking on purpose while I was being seen. I hate when I end up with a evil person. Just was looking evil for no reason and Iu2019m sure she knew that I noticed but wouldnu2019t dare acknowledge her ways. Thatu2019s probably what they wait on so they can mess up your file on purpose or something. I wished I knew her name but her hair was short and cut like a guy. May have been wearing a wedding band. I sense probably married to a female I gather. Memphis state job employees get away with anything.

My father recently passed away, so I called for an appointment and took my mom. The people at SS were compassionate, empathetic, and extremely professional. We were called back within 10 minutes ... in and out in 20 minutes total!

I had visited this office approximately two times and the experience was pleasant. However, when I went to apply for auxiliary dependent benefits for my youngest child the case worker has held on to the application for 8 months. I have returned to this office at least three times, called and requested that the manager return my call, and called the Social Security line, no one has followed up with me, and no one seems to know or care to know the reason as to why my application hasn't been submitted. I'm on my way back to the office. Going to ask to see the manager.

I walked into this office with very low expectations, but was proven wrong! Lots of people in the waiting area, but the system worked and the queue went very quickly. The Agent who took care of me was very professional, efficient and friendly. Every now and then it's good to be wrong. ;-)

No one wants to answer the phone when someone calls. I have called every hour and no one answers the phones. How are those of us that can't make it in to the office, supposed to get the help that we desperately need? I need someone to contact me by phone to take care of appointments. There seems to be a lot of laziness going on in this office. What do these people do all day, eat donuts and drinks coffee talking bullcrap that has nothing to do with their jobs? Pathetic!

You should prepare to be at the office and IN LINE around 8am. This particular office is very busy but the wait is not too long at all. The security officer helps with your needs and was very nice during our visits there.

Not my favorite place to call or walk into. The workers I've encountered have terrible attitudes and really shouldn't have employment involving the public, especially those of us needing disability assistance. It takes a lot of humility, empathy, and patience and I just don't see any of these in this office. What canI say... That's the government for you I suppose.

Had a nice experience. Waited less than one minute for my number to be called, Mr Pittman was courteous and knowledgeable and handled my business in 5 minutes and I was out the door! Went on a Wednesday morning about 9:30. Thanks Mr Pittman!!!

Awful. Every customer in there at the time complained about the crass and unprofessional service received . The only person in there that offered mutual respect was the security guard. The districts managers card was in high demand that day. Absolutely disgraceful to Active Duty Personnel. Be prepared to make more than one trip with their guidance on what documents youu2019ll need .

I just need a physical ss card for my daughter to get her register for school and they gave me the run around . I went back to back 3x . First time the lady was nice but told me I need to bring her my daughte ID , she gave me s list and 2 of the options were US passport and school record ( report card ) I just brought my driver license . No big deal I should have been prepare. So I went back the 2nd time with passport and report card and sign in again , when my number was called another lady took my information and she input in the computer because she was still in training . They send me back out the waiting room and wait again . I waited and was call to Window 4 , her voice was sweet and soft but with a major attitude problem. I explained to her that I was there Earlier today and I just need to bring the US passport and the school report card to verify my daughters identification. And she told me that the report card have to be signed and be certified even though my daughter name was on the report card the name of the school and her birthday and her grade and that she promoted to the fourth grade. So I asked , why didnu2019t yu2019all tell me this when I was here the first time ? And on the list that they hand out to me didnu2019t say anything about School administration sign and make a certified. Finally she have the. Nerve to ask me u201cdo you even have a Social Security numberu201d? I told her I do have one and she look it up and it links to my child SS # and she said all she needs is to make it Certify and signed by the school. Itu2019s was around 4:30 , I sign in the 2nd time and everybody was off the clock . I Told her I was born in Memphis Tennessee just like you and she say it in a very sweet and soft voice but in a very evil way with a very evil smile sheu2019s very racist. Securitynguard however is very nice. I wouldnu2019t go to this location again . I donu2019t usually write review unless itu2019s super bad or super great . She makes me feel like Iu2019m illegal and I donu2019t derserve any respect .

We went to social security on December 10 for my stepdaughter. She has a vision disability. Every state that we have been to her benefit follows her because of her condition. We were awaiting Medicaid so we can get her prescription but the keep denying her prescription pickup at the phamacy and we were wondering why. On today December 20 we went back to social security for answers. They told us that the employee name Mark that handle the case didn't register any of the information into the system that my wife and daughter had told this guy. Thank God that she didn't lose her eye sight because I would had been very uspet.

Ms. Adams you should practice more kindness. You are condescending and not very nice at all. Cannot believe that you hold the job you have. I wish I could let the public hear how you talked to me. I pray you never get treated the way you treat others.
    Marquita Bradley
The security guard was nice and I was able to physically drop my application in the drop box

Don't ask a question, even if they give you info that conflicts with what another local office tells you (which by calling the other offices found out this lady was WRONG ud83dude02). Customer service is not something they know exists.nn#GovernmentEfficiency

Their security guard is a waste of tax payers money. He spends half the day awsy from his desk on his cell phone. He told me I could not have a stainless steel bottle of water. I have diabetes and FT Cirosis. He expected me to drink from an nasty public water fountain. He was explained to quick. Im old, but I can still kick his little ass.

I had a question by phone and even though there was a lengthy wait time, when the phone was answered by Mr. Pittman, he was polite, upbeat and pleasant to speak with. With so many negative comments and the fact that I was dealing with a government office, I was expecting the worst but I was very pleasantly surprised. Thanks for the help.

SPOKE WITH WENDY TODAY OUT OF MCMINNVILLE, TN, SHE WAS OUTSTANDING AND VERY HELPFUL GREAT ATTITUDE AND SHE WENT THE EXTRA MILE TO ASSIST ME.
    Mamush Kidus
The young lady working at the front desk kept sayingI don't knowfor almost all the questions we asked. when the waiting time is longer than an hour, you should have been better equipped to answer the most basic questions.

I ordered my glasses from VA but lady said I didn't. I had an outside exam and ordered my glasses from VA around December or January this year
