I have had some bad experiences with people over the phone dealing with the SSA. But Mrs. Meadows was truly helpful. If you want to talk to someone that's really a professional and goes out of her way to help. Ask for Mrs. Meadows

I called over and over to get a paper sent to my doctor to get something on my disability check changed but it was never sent. The last time I called I talked to a sweet lady named Mrs.Westfield and she sent it to him. If it weren't for her he would have never received it.

Very rude security upstairsnFull restriction with Covid ( mask , 6 feet, not a full capacity) I donu2019t get it why this is the only place that still requires this

The phone message is garbled, the website does not supply email contact, or information regarding death notification. Poor design, poor service.

My husbands entitlement date was incorrect because this social security office did not accurately identify all information given, so his insurance was dropped out of nowhere and has no insurance until they fix it. It took over 24 hours of constant calling weeks ago to get someone to listen. One person out of literally 5 reps here finally took the time to research the problem then found out someone had fixed it already the day before we called and didnu2019t bother to tell us or them. I now itu2019s been sent to payment center, which they said could take u201ca while.u201d We were told we could call for updates at any time and we HAVE, so many times with no updates. Actually, one rep said no your entitlement date has not changed !! Itu2019s so scary being without insurance when someone is literally ON disability for the help and this negligence has caused a ton of repercussions to the disability in question. Sad excuse for an office thatu2019s supposed to help assist people!!!nnEDIT: thank you to the only person in this place thatu2019s been helpful though, CONSTANCE

The dbag I just spoke to told me theyu2019re u201crequired to have ambiguous instructionsu201d regarding which documents I need to send but that also, u201cI should just send proper documentation if I want a replacement card.u201d He then hung up on me. Negative stars. The whole administration needs new leadership.

This office has been a nightmare for my disabled husband trying to deal with his mother's estate. After wrangling with both SS and the IRS for seven months, the only thing he needed at the end of the year was the 1099, and as he was having shoulder surgery at the first of the year and would not be able to drive for a month, he called and asked if they could mail him one. He was told yes, so he sent off the request. Waited a month. Didn't hear anything. Meantime we are getting our tax stuff together and our agent says he can't do her estate taxes without the 1099, so I take a day off work and shovel him into the car and we go down to the office where he hobbles up to the third floor and the rep gets him a 1099 in less than five minutes. If she could do it that quickly and easily, why couldn't someone have done that same thing when he mailed in his request?

I cringed at the thought of even calling a government office for information, let alone experiencing the drama in person so I'm totally shocked to say: I LOVED IT HERE!nThese folks have really got it together, from my initial call to security and my visit. I'm amazed at how friendly everyone was and how quickly I was taken care of.nMake your trip as smooth as possible : Hop onto the SSA website, check what you need to bring and even make a call if you're unsure.nTime: whatever Google says, add a couple minutes to grab a parking spot in the garage across the street and use a crosswalk.

This is the worst place to try to get anything done we as a community need to report to higher up to get some people out of here there rude and unhelpful. It's not right that everyone has almost went bad to work and this place thanks its better then the rest of us that they can't even see people face to face its a shame something needs to be done and people need to be held accountable .

First of all, this office has moved from its former location on Magnolia Street, where they left their signs that saySocial Security Administration, now withfor salesigns in the windows and graffiti on the doors. A person would think that there would be a sign or a name on the outside of the building that the Social Security office was in, but there isn't.nnThe address is 145 North Church Street, but the address of the building can only be seen from straight-on, so you essentially have to be right up on the building to be able to tell which building is the correct building. The building is shared with other companies, only one of which has an signage on the outside of the building.nnOn the bright side, the building is very close to the parking garage. Just cross the street.nnOnce inside the building, there are still no signs and no directories, at least not readily visible. The address sayssuite 300,but since there are no directories or labels on anything, 300 could be a broom closet for all anyone knows.nnI had to ask the woman who sits at the front desk, for another company, where the social security office was and I'm sure that's not her job and she probably doesn't get paid any more for telling people where the social security office is at all day long.nnThe office is on the third floor.nnWhen you get in the office, you take a ticket, by entering in your language and SSN and what you're there for. I was only sitting down for about a minute before my number got called. I was in and out very quickly. There was hardly anybody there, maybe because they couldn't find it? I was pleasantly pleased with the service once I got in, but getting there was somewhat confusing.nnIf they put up some signs, that would be great.

Being unable to speak to a human due to the inability of the phone screening software to answer a simple question caused me to be placed on hold and left for dead. After waiting for over an hour, I gave up.nI guess I can take more time off from work to drive there to ask the question in person.nI never thought any organization could possibly match the apathy and inefficiency of the DMV. I was wrong...

Everyone was very helpful and friendly. The difference between Greenville County and Spartanburg were like night and day. The office wasn't stuffy or somber like most other SS offices. Even the security guard was cracking jokes to put everyone in a good mood. It took maybe 30 minutes and Keith made sure everything was done as quickly as possible!!! Thank you to everyone!
    Hello Darlin
Best experience one could have WHN you go in with potential problems. The gentleman who waited on me did all he could and advised me how to remedy the situation. I did have to come back the next day and was in and out in no time. The young lady who assisted me was very courteous, fast and efficient.

Nowhere online or in the building lobby does it say that it is closed to the public. I had to walk up to the third floor and as I was reading the sign posted on their door, the security guard came out and yelled at me that I needed to leave. Rude as hell.
    Charmaine Lyles
Now a drop would be nice for you to drop off your documentation. The man said they have one its in rhe lobby but they haven't been open for over a year

Better place than in the hidden hole in the wall it was in 30 years ago. A small strip mall that I believe doesn't exist any longer. Great improvements to downtown thank you to our city board of directors & a special thank to Me. George Dean Johnson & Johnson Development. Downtown now needs more entertainment & events to bring out our local talents, no matter if is in arts or in human resources. Wee have the educated people in our area so now we all should start thinking outside of the box. We can help our local community if we use our minds wisely. Untapped talent being wasted is just that...WASTE!!

Never call the office manager out for a lie because he will get his panties in a wad and call for security and one of the other times I went up there the little Asian guy that works there decided to yell at me at window 3 and say what what you want more money I think it's interesting on how I have to call the Greenville office to get the truth that the Spartanburg office won't tell me at the Spartanburg office originally was a hole in the wall somewhere and needs to go back to it

There white guy there with the tattoos is a racist and don't submit your paperwork correctly. He acts like my SSI check is coming out his pocket.
