Unbelievably rude woman named Laura working at the wilksbarre ssa office. Called in for a simple address change and have never dealt with someone so unbelievably incompetent and rude in the same person. Too many job openings out there in different field to keep her in a position, she clearly hates.

You can not talk to a person at this number!nThis is pitiful for a Social Security Office!!

The most unprofessional experience of my life. I have worked in customer service for over 20 years. While I understand the standards are different in concern to a govt agency; mental acuity and service above all still need to be the forefront. Speaking with a woman who identified herself as Nicole, she continually spoke over me, refused to addressed my concerns, and advised me to do things that were illegal in order to obtain my new SS card, for which I had already sent over the required forms and documentation more than 7 weeks ago. She contradicted info provided to me by other agents at both a state and federal level. When I asked to speak with a supervisor or be given a call back, she refused. She then threatened to hang up on me and did so without (as is her legal requirement) giving me information on how to file a complaint or the extension of a supervisor. I hope whoever sees this investigates this individual claiming to act as a govt agent. At the least: unprofessional. At the worst: criminal. Awful experience!

They say it's open from 9-4. But I'm here at 9:17 and it's closed until further notice due to covid. Just wasted 3 bucks to park. Terrible.

Hot mess! They sent me someone else's personal information including their social security number and the person's spouse's SSI number too. Totally different name and address there were no similarities in their info and mine. I called to tell them about this horrible mistake and breach of security and they ignored me. Imagine who else they did this too?ud83dude33nnThen it took me nearly 2 years to make them understand I live nearby not in NY. I filled out the form they sent me 3 times with my current information. I called, I wrote a letter and they continued to mail everything to my mother with a similar but not the same name who resided in NY. I finally gave up and called NY instead. They fixed everything and sent me the form I repeatedly requested from SSI in Wilkes Barre for.

The agent , Mark, who helped me with an application for Representative Payee, was very nice, patient and knowledgeable. When I realized that I wasnu2019t quite ready to complete the process, he said it was no problem and whenever I was ready to come back and theyu2019d take care of it immediately. The wait time was about 20 minutes but depends how many are there ahead of you. When you get a number, the computer asks what you are there for and gives a ticket according to that, so different agents take care of different situations.

I called the 866 phone number today and the operator that received the call was the worst (Laura) in the Luzerne County PA office. She was not helpful and rude. I asked to speak with her supervisor and she would not transfer and said that she couldn't. I hope no one else have to deal with her today.(:

Your GPS will lead you to the employee entrance and there's no signs to indicate it's the right building. Go around the block and park in the Citizens Bank across the way to avoid paying for parking. Go up the concrete stairs to the left of the building and make a right when you see a glass door. You'll know it's the right place when you see the reception desk and two police officers. To your left is the actual office which will actually have a sign over the door.nnOnce you do actually find the office though, the staff was at least quite helpful.

SSA apparently doesn't read or reply to emails with regard to completed and returned 7162 forms to their office. I have returned both their original andSecond Noticeforms, both registered with tracking numbers. I've E-mailed them several times to inform them also. Tracking shows them arriving and being signed for. So thelost in the mailcan be ruled out. I'm hoping the threat included in the forms, return within 45 days or your benefits may be discontinueddoes not happen due to an in-house mail handling issue.

Negligent in their determinations, in the face of 20+ doctors.

Was told I couldn't use a birth certificate to verify my birthday when they had documents saying you can use it. However the lady, not the one giving a hard time but the security guard, was the most helpful person there........

THIS IS TRULY A GOVERNMENTAL EMBARRASSMENT OF A OFFICE. i HAVE CALLED 10 + TIMES AND CAN NEVER ,not once, NEVER GET A PERSON. AFTER 6 CALLS TO MY 'WORKER' I HAVE NEVER GOTTEN A ANSWER, NEVER GOTTEN A RETURN CALL, NEVER RECIEVED A EMAIL AND/OR A TEXT MESSAGE RESPONSE.I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO OR HOW TO PROCEED. THEY WROTE ABOUT TRYING TO END MY SSI, BUT AS I CANNOT GET THROUGH, AM HANDICAPPED AND HAVE NO WAY THERE, CAN GET NO RESPONSE SINCE 2/13/2018, HOW DOES ONE RESPOND TO A AGENCY THAT HAS PROVEN THEY COULD CARE LESS OF MY CONCERNS, REFUSE TO RESPOND TO MY REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO RECEIVE HELP AND/OR GUIDANCE.I ASSUME THEY JUST DON'T GIVE A DAMN AS THE REST OF trumps agencies, their only concern is how they can take off of the poor, and give to the richest in society. AMAZING, and I know that this refusal to respond cannot be limited to myself. So, as I am at their mercy, I guess I am truly ####ed. The worst part is they will lie and say they never received my calls, messages and emails, otherwise they would have to admit they could care less about my situation. And we know people and agencies like this NEVER admit they do anything less than a perfect job. IMAGINE THAT.

$3 to park, even for 5 minutes.nEntrance is NOT on Coal Street, but along the back.nThere are no visible signs telling you where to go from the street or even if you're at the right place.nGoogle Maps puts you in front of the building where only employees enter.nEmployees are rude and not helpful.
