We visited the Social Security Office at 700 Grant St. , Pittsburgh. Zip 15219.nWe would particularly like to compliment Mr. Joshua May, the Officer who not only gave us the appointment date but attended to us on the day of the appointment. He was very courteous and understood our requirements with a great deal on empathy. He was kind and patient and explained everything to us in great detail, so that we understood what to expect and when to expect. Our entire work was accomplished in half an hour and though he informed us that we would get the required documents in about three weeks time, we were pleasantly surprised to get all our documents within a week. Please convey our sincere Thank you to Mr. Joshua May and the Team Members responsible for the work done.

The man who handles my case is actually very nice & informative. Besides that- they suck. One time I called for a general question/information on my sons ssi payment card because there was some confusion prior to this call. They told me about 2 weeks and I called because it had been over a month. A lady answered & said u201cit takes 2 weeksu201d and hung up. Didnu2019t answer any part of my question whatsoever or take my info. I called back- same lady answers & I said I just called and you hung up on me. She rudely like sooooo rudely screamed (not even joking, almost unbelievable) u201cI didnu2019t hang up on you now what the hell is your nameu201dnnI was in shock.

I have been calling to get in touch with the man who works my daughters case for 3 months. I have literally called every week, left voicemails on his machine & talked to customer Service representatives who sent him an email every week for him to get in contact with me and still have not yet to receive anything. (No call back, no email or letter in the mail) Iu2019m so frustrated. Everyone also acts as if they donu2019t have his supervisors number.

This SSA office is like a model for all government offices. Secured, clean, people are helpful and fast service. Kudos to the people maintaining it that way! Thanks!

Been waiting 30 minutes for a call they scheduled. I had to leave work early for this call & waste vacation time! I made this appointment in November 2021 & they chose the date & time! Told me to have the enclosed form ready when they call....you guessed it! No form enclosed! Disgusting!

Sarah is great but the gentleman I spoke to prior to her had a rude tone & made a very rude comment to me. They don't realize it's your money they are dealing with & they make it so hard for you to acquire the smallest detail.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I got married and need to change my name, I've talked to 3 different people and ALL of them have been extremely rude and they have all told me COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THINGS. The lady in the morning is the most miserable person I have ever spoken to. If your job is to deal with stuff as important as people's identity, maybe you shouldn't hate your job.

The worst service. People donu2019t even help Or answer your concerns if you have any questions. I called to ask for an appointment and the girl just said she didnu2019t have any appointments available and she hung up on me.nHonestly if you donu2019t like your job just quit!

Everything is over the phone right now. I called in to figure out name change information. The woman didn't like that I asked to speak with someone else to confirm information she was giving me (I had been previously given different information), so she hung up on me. When I called back, she was the one who answered again, and I spoke for less than twenty seconds before she hung up on me again. Professionalism at its finest ud83eudd26ud83cudffbu200du2640ufe0fnnJust so it's clear I wasn't being a Karen, I called SSA directly, and they gave me very different information than that given to me by the woman who hung up on me.

I sent out my documents which includes all original copiesnand passport via fedex overnight. I sent out on Feb 17 and it was received at the SSA office front desk on Feb 18 11:40am. I called to check if they received as it showed on my POD that it was received by someone named M.CARTER. I called the SSA office to ask if they received. The representative was extremely rude and unprofessional. Asked me to wait whereas I only called to ask if they received it.

I arrived around 9:20 on a Monday and was out before 10 - it was starting to get busier as I was there but the process was quick and painless.nnI was changing my name after my wedding - brought the application, marriage certificate, and passport and that was all I needed. The actual time at the counter was only about 5 minutes.

I called the office and was looking for Shawn (the supervisor), I dealt with him in the past and had a great experience! Unfortunately, today when I called, some guy picked up the phone and was extremely RUDE. The explanation of the process that i was calling about was also really poor!!

I know this place has a lot of negative reviews but I just spoke to someone named Cassidy who answered my question and got me taken care of in 2 minutes! Super quick and easy!

I went there at 2pm today for social security ineligible letter and I was out by 2:45. Everyone was polite and it was crowded still my work was done in 45mins. It took 2 minutes at the counter to actually take the letter. I don't know why people gave such bad reviews. If you have all the documents you don't have to worry.

First of all the Security Guard was so friendly. The bathrooms were clean although the doors plus handles to them were truly the stuff of nightmares. I must admit that the Security Guard , tall white haired gent with an engaging smile, was chatty , helpful and I got the strongest feeling that we TRULY had a connection. My kind sir if you happen upon this and share my longing then please feel free to contact me.

Got hung up before even finishing my question. Thatu2019s rude and I donu2019t know what do now.
    H Miller
Great... fast and friendly. Just make sure you look up all of the documents, etc. you need before you go in, or else you're wasting a trip. Not because they're unhelpful, but because they literally can't help you if you aren't prepared.nnBut that's just common sense. :)

Been 4 weeks since i applied for SSN. the office is unresponsive. Most of my friends got it within a week. I have no idea what's going on with my application with no means of tracking it. I stay in anxiety of how long is this going to take.

Yesterday, july 10th i took time off of work to visit the social security office. On it's website it said its hours were 9-4pm. However, when I got there at 1pm i found a sign stating its hours which read wednesday 9-12pm. wtf?

What kind of customer service is only opened when most people are working and isn't open on Saturday and Sunday. Never thought I'd say it but these offices are even worse than the DMV's
