Dropped off documents for my name change due to marriage in their office drop box. In less than 2 weeks they sent documents back to me (using ups) with a receipt showing my name change and telling me to expect my new card in the mail, 3 days later the card arrived. I am pleasantly surprised.

I have been calling this office the last few weeks and every time I get different information. First I had to wait 2 weeks to make an appointment. I called after two weeks I was directed to call after the New Year for appointments. Today, I finally was able to get the process started to make an appointment and I was hung up on when I asked a question. Worst service ever and definitely reporting. Please go to another SSN office if available. Literally 0 help and itu2019s been a month.

Don't EVER deal with this office. Absolute NIGHTMARE. I was assigned Ms Arico to handle my payee application and all she did was argue and make the situation worse, accuse me of lying, and hang up on me. None of them care and they're all in on it. No expectation of confidentiality or privacy, that's ignored. No respect, that's ignored. I spent 3 weeks getting the proper information to her and all she did was get people involved that had nothing to do with it. If you value your life, your sanity, and your peace of mind, don't get these people involved. They claim they follow a protocol and then they don't follow it. You can't talk to a supervisor, that's not allowed. Total incompetence and disrespect. They don't care about people's benefits or their life, they're just in it for the government position and can't get fired. When you vote, vote to completely defund places like this, because all they want to do is make your life difficult. It's going on 4 months since I've seen a benefit check and all they do is argue, they to control, and uphold beauracracy so they can keep their government jobs and do absolutely ZERO for people who need help.

Their phone line does not work even during working hours a lot of the times. I was yelled at over the phone line at some point. After I managed to get an appointment, I was told to wait for 1-2 days before they will get back to me. A week later, I called to check in about my case, and the woman who picked up the phone talked over me then hung up before I finish my sentence. Absolutely abysmal service, and I wish I don't have to deal with them ever again.

The most unprofessional office when it comes to customer service for SSI benefits. There was some bad seeds working here in 2010. It was the employees who make the least that answered the phone that were so rude and incompetent. Who were mocking mentally challenged people as far as Iu2019m concerned. Not the Case Workers or Managers. Now, I know I couldu2019ve contacted The Attorney General BUT I wish I knew back then. Iu2019m so glad I moved out of the area and transferred my case elsewhere.

I have been disabled for many years.nI have tried to get on disability for over a year now and have been homeless because of it.nI have a many genuine ailments and was denied twice over the course of a year.nWhy do you guys give disability to those who don't truthfully have any ailments but someone like me literally cannot work and gets denied trying so hard to simply be on it and was even homeless risking my life on the streets because of it???...nIt comes down to greed and lack of desire to be of service to those in need. This lack of accountability is truly disgusting. Hopefully my story will never be forgotten...

Went in for a name update. Staff was kind, knowledgable, and efficient. I was out of there in less than 30 minutes after opening. I totally recommend going early in the AM if possible, as the line gets pretty long quickly.

Our wait time was within reason and the representative (Miss Koch) answered all our questions. She was very knowledgeable and gave us a clear path to hopefully a successful conclusion.

They no-call / no-show for scheduled meetings, do not return calls, and send money to the wrong party. Worse than the DMV. Good luck to the elderly, and anyone attempting to help an elderly bc SS sure do not make it easy.

I've been trying to get information for elderly mother who recently lost her husband (my dad) after 70 years. The website is not helpful for the information I'm seeking. Honestly, I am so glad she is not dealing with this because I have been hung up on so many times without being able to speak to a representative that I've starting logging my attempts to get through. It's almost funny. But, not.

CANT GET A SINGLE PERSON ON THE PHONE AND CANT GET ADEQUATE INFO ON THE SITE SO TOTALLY LOST!!!!!nnI have been trying to call this office all day. I was hung up on by the automated system twice waiting for an agent to come on the line. I then waited an hour for someone to come on the line. I cannot seem to get anyone on the phone here at all. Theres no information on the website with directions on how to mail things to the office (want to make sure I send to the right attention, etc) all it says is contact your local office, well some help that is when you cant talk to anyone there since they wont answer. Dont want to just go over there since theyre not open in person, pretty unacceptable!!!

Trying to help my mother with her social security payments, but these guys are impossible to get on the phone. Youu2019ll get cued up in their system then after waiting 20 minutes the system will disconnect you. If you call EXACTLY at 9am, there is a chance youu2019ll get to talk to someone. They are generally nice, but after taking the details of your case and saying they will get back to you, I have never received a call back. This happened three times. Finally had to resort to calling Senator Caseyu2019s office, who is intervening helpfully.

Can not get anyone on the phone called for the last hour keep being hung up on after it rings! Ready to call the cops and show up outside I am furious! The government rules the people but yet you can't access it? Can't go in person either? But if I don't pay my taxes you will be at my door? This country is falling apart and no one cares! Just need to change my last name! So unprofessional! Who ever works here probably has fun hanging up on people over and over.
    Melissa Reed
Absolutely a JOKE Nobody answers the phone And you get disconnected after waiting a half-hourAnd on top of it they're rude and DISRESPECTFUL seems like to me Nobody wants to do their job there At ALL

When calling most are so ignorant only one guy was nice. And they donu2019t return calls. One person was handling my case and I had to write to the head office to get them to do their job now someone else took over. I was told 30 days on August 26th itu2019s September 28th and nothing in the mail YET!!!! And they arenu2019t picking up the PHONE!!! You canu2019t go in cause they say Covid-19 but welfare office is open so why not Social Security they have glass windows so whatu2019s the problem.???? Norristown office is horrible. They need to do there job or let someone else do it.
    Shannon Harper
My mom tried to call the office only to get hung up on. No live person to talk too. Ridiculous! There needs to be better way to contact social security security office and speak to someone live then to get hung up saying all agents are busy.
    Berenise J.G
I have been trying for a month to do an appointment here and just to wait on the phone for 45 minutes to be hung up..this is annoying ud83eudd0cud83cudffc

Mrs. Ryan is amazing! So helpful, patient, thorough and professional! If I was still running my own business, I would ask her to work for me. What a great example of the best of the best in service. Thank you Mrs. Ryan!

Trying to apply for a SS benefit that cannot be initiated on-line so I must speak with a representation at the Norristown office. I find out: Appointments are 3 months out. They can't guarantee that anyone will be in the office to take a walk-in application. It's a 45 minute drive. I did get a call back a full day after I spoke with a call taker, but I was not home. The voice message did not include the caller's extension. I connected with the N-town office call-taker and was transferred to the caller's voice mail. I left my name and number. We'll see if/when I hear back. As far as I'm concerned service is terrible. Why can't we just schedule a call back?
    Diana Raia
I've gone there several times due to working with expats and I've never had a problem. Be sure to get your ticket when you walk in and relax. It's a small office, but I always had a place to sit. It could take you 10-30 minutes before you are called. So I always tell my clients to set aside at least one hour to apply for their social security card. Their bathrooms available and are clean.

I had to change my infants misspelled first name. And they made me come 4 times. Every time I will come in they will ask for a different thing. Why would you tell me things one by one? Illiterate staff. Very Poorly managed. When you argue with them then their basic sentence is oh that window person is fairly new and he/she doesnu2019t know much. Why does that fairly new person has authority to tell me what to bring then ? Why giving out fake information and asking for more stuff which an infant canu2019t have ?nThird time they told me to bring paper work from infants current doctor with doctors liquid signatures on paper??? I had to go fill the form at doctors office to get the records. I came back again and it was a different window this time and that lady didnu2019t even ask me for anything related to doctor.... which was frustrating.nThe worst part is you approved to change my infants social security name on the same paper work which I brought in for the first time and got denied for ? Ridiculous customer service representative !!!!nIf they ask you more paper work for the second time I would suggest you guys do not listen to these dummy window people ! Tell them to call your supervisor or manager who been here that long enough to tell you what exactly you need !!
    Nixon Hossain
Very good Service, and really all persons are very helpful and friendly. God Bless them and God bless USA.

What a colossal waste of time!!! My children are 14 and 16 I need a copy of their Social security card. I called the 800-number was told my wait time would be two hours but I could be called back in two hours and 10 minutes .. fine, got the phone call I asked the person on the phone do my children need to be with me when I go to the office to get there so security card because I cannot get them online. I was told I was correct that anyone under the age of 18 could not get their cards onlineu2026u2026 And that all I would need is a copy of their school IDs to get The cards I repeated it back to her saying I did not need the actual IDs of my children but I could make a photocopy and she said yes. So Off I go to Social Security officeu2026u2026 Take a number I am 188. So I sit and I wait and I wait and I wait. I finally get called I have my applications filled out I have a copy of their school IDs I even have their birth certificate just in case.... I was told that my children needed to be with me.??? I asked the woman at the window why I was told on the phone after a two hour wait that I could bring their copies of their IDs... She looked right through me and just said I donu2019t now I said well I have the birth certificates will that do ??? No they have to physically be here she said.... Seriously she said well do you have their medical ID cards with their birthdays on them I said I have their medical cards but their birthdays arenu2019t on them but I do have the birth certificates that have their birthdays on that. She said they wonu2019t do. Are you freaking kidding me??? My kids are in school. I am not taking them out of school to get thereu2019s a security cards!!!! Yes folks this is our government at work You can come here illegally get a fake the security number Faster than you can get one legally To a citizen actually born here!!!
