Having waited a month to receive my new social security card for name change after getting married, I decided to call and check the status of my application only to find that they had no record of my application. Even though they had sent a letter back with my documents saying that they were reviewing my application. Don't know how that happened. So, now I get to do the whole process over again. The representative I spoke with on the phone was nice, but it irks me that they sent me a letter saying they had my application when they supposedly have no record of it. Advice to those mailing in for a card, check to make sure they actually have it on file and are reviewing it. The representative with whom I spoke said it should take approximately 2 weeks at most for them to review the application and send you the card.

The service representatives are very helpful and good at their jobs but we the people need to be able to see and talk to them face to face sometimes. But the covid has thrown everything and everyone off their game. Good work Social Security Administration, Sincerely Mr Larry Barron Sr

I was so worried about doing a name change after getting married due to the bad reviews online. I completed and mailed in my application, original marriage license and driveru2019s license through priority mail as directed. My original documents came back a few days later with a letter stating that my application was being reviewed. I received my social security card today with my new name. The process took about 2 weeks, and I had absolutely no problems at all.

The Social Security Administration has been doing a great job in helping people who have issues with their social security checks and deposits with solutions to their problems and doing it despite the problem that Covid 19 has caused. Thank You Social Security Administration for all that you endure. Sincerely Mr Larry Barron Sr

Have waited over a month to receive my new social security card... They also have my physical license stating they needed it and would not accept a copy in order to get my name changed. Can not reach social security or this branch no matter how many hours I sit on hold.... Huge problem that needs to be addressed!! Worst ss service ever and stupid that the branch is closed so there is absolutely nothing u can do.

Name change after marriage. I was a liitle concerned after reading the reviews BUT mailed documents on 11/2 via priority mail. SSC received on 11/3. Received returned documents via certified mail on 11/8. Received receipt which I can use to change DL on 11/10. Should receive new card in 2 weeks. Service was great in my opinion.

I have never been able to get anyone to answer the phone. I don't know how anyone is able to make an appointment as there is no online appointment scheduler.

For them to be working from home, they are truly some of the laziest people Iu2019ve ever had the displeasure of working with! Very unprofessional also. What exactly are they doing that they canu2019t keep up with their caseloads? They need to clean house at this office. It seems that the assistants are the only ones of any use. The caseworkers are lazy, incompetent, and donu2019t follow up on SERIOUS MATTERS. u201cManagementu201d is even worse! I will be filing a formal complaint against this entire office. This is ridiculous.

I got a divorce in beginning of February and legally changed my name. I sent in all my paperwork to get a new SS card mid February. I've called twice since then about the update on my name change. They finally sent me a letter last week saying my card is on the way. I check the mail and I finally received it my new card!! Open the card really excited to pull it out and it still has my married name!!! They never changed it.

I've been trying to get my name changed on my ss card since February 2021, I sent in the documents they asked for, the end of July I finally received mail from them which was my original documents back and no ss card, saying one of my documents will not work as proof and I will need to send my ORIGINAL DRIVERS LICENSE. They held my docs for over 5 months and think I'm going to send my original drivers license? How I suppose to drive? Everyone I spoke to was rude and act like they did not want to be bother. My question is WHY THESE PEOPLE STILL WORKING FROM HOME WHEN EVERYTHING ELSE HAS OPEN BACK UP INCLUDING THE SCHOOLS, AND WHY THE ATTITUDE WHEN YOU'RE NOT DOING NOTHING BUT ANSWRING THE PHONE TELLING EVERYONE HOW YOU CAN'T HELP THEM WITH IMPORTANT SERVICES. This is a mess and sad. They should have came up with a plan to open back up to the public that's safe for them and the public, it's going on 2 years now and they still don't have a plan to reopen. This is not acceptable ud83dude11 ud83dude12

Daughter was born last year and there was an error in her name spelling by 1 letter... 1 letter. So we call this office. They say yea sure send in the stuff. We dont have the SSC but theyre the social security office right.... 2 months for them to send us a letter back saying we cant find her ssn. We obtain that to help them out and then 3 months go by and they reply get a court order. I know covid has affected things but the communication and logistics of this office is very poor. I would advise anyone else having issues to write their local representative to request a resignation of whoever is in charge there. Thats what Im doing.

I found out that they falsified my claim documents, they are very ruide to me, they will not allow me to view my file without payee, will not give me proof of overpayments paid, filing pension and annunity payments as a retired government worker. Will not provide my original SSA 1099 Statements. THE ALJ AWARDED ME SSDI PAYMENTS!!! THEY CLAIMED I ASKED FOR RETIREMENT BENEFITS AT 50 YEARS OLD, they falsified my claim!!! Mr. Sanders at SSA LOCKLAND AVE.

I was able to speak to a live person. The hold time was not very long. The gentleman was helpful with my inquiry.

It didn't take Covid to make this office a complete chaos. U have a disabled daughter and she has been since birth. I'm not sure why my minimalbincome causes her to not get the benefits she deserves. They say I make too much money and keep taking her benefits and I don't make anymore than $10 an hour. Wheb I get a job paying a little more they quit ckly catch that but the 6 months I've been without work and calling they drag +++ to do anything to get her what she needs.

I called at about 3:30 PM for some help with changing my name. The lady I spoke to was very friendly. Unfortunately, she put me on hold and left me on hold. I waited about an hour with my phone just on speaker because I assumed she had run into an issue. It turns out that the office closes at 4 so I guess she just decided to leave me on hold all night.
    Claire Bo_BG
Could never get anyone to answer the phone. It would ring and then I'd be put immediately on hold again. I can not go up there because they aren't open to the public. So how am I suppose to take care of my personal information?

This office is unprofessional, needs to be re-trained, and verify information before processing or sending it out. I have went through a heck of a time with this office, they have made 5 mistakes in my claim and in processing my back payment. Let me go ahead and tell you I am on SSDI, so all monies I worked and paid in myself. Due to the employeeu2019s mistakes I am now up to $1,000 in fees and late fees, from their mistakes! Not one person has offered to tell me how to get this refunded and when I did ask, told me it was impossible. I have all documented, they act as if they donu2019t care that they mess up your money, turn in paperwork in-correctly or not at all, speak to you rudely, do not return calls in the time they state they will(even managers), cost you money as well as being taken to court to be evicted from your home. I have lived in my home almost 11 years, NEVER had such problems with my rent. This is ridiculous and persons making such mistakes with societyu2019s monies should be terminated. I am disgusted with this place, if you canu2019t tell. I worked hard for my money, just as they do, and at this point I am walking around broke until they fix all their mistakes. Prayers appreciated that I am not evicted from my kids and Iu2019s home.

I send in my application and paperwork over 3 weeks ago and they said they didnu2019t get it and I have to return send it very unprofessional and donu2019t care type of attitudes I need to go back to work!!! Help me people want to work but canu2019t they need to open the building back up!

Clean, comfortable and private setting to conduct business. Automated sign in upon arrival seems impersonal, but it expedites service delivery. I signed in forotherservices and kicked myself thinking the wait would seem forever. I was called in less than 20 minutes. My issue was resolved in fewer than 10.nnKudos to the staff, security and guests, who appeared calm and patient.

Understaffed! I have had three different occasions where I had to wait over four hours! Been working on a issue with the local office since August of 2018! Still donu2019t have a full resolution. Terrible experiences. I never look forward to dealing with anything government related! I believe it is purposefully setup in that way!

I recieved fast service this morning, going to change my last name since I recently got married. The website was very helpful to prepare myself prior to going in the office. I like the check in process at the kiosk where you take a number. This was a good and fast experience.

While the staff is patient and seem to genuinely want to help, it is obvious there aren't enough of them. Also the order of services called is confusing since numbers are called that aren't on the board at all, leaving it almost feeling personal when you are usually already down on your luck when you come in. Also with the extremely long wait times and the fact that they serve elderly and disabled people they could be a little more lenient on the food and drink rule. I understand neatness, but when you are diabetic and have to risk losing your spot by going outside to eat something to keep your blood sugar up it seems a bit extreme.

Places like this always get a bad wrap. I honestly think some of that is due to the majority of their patrons making zero effort to be prepared. I just did a name change in 9 minutes with no appointment. Everyone was polite and pleasant.
