I had been calling for a week. Been holding and frustrated. They were telling me this and that was wrong. I called and got help from I think mrs Ninnette Lennon. She was the bomb. Had to deal with the bank and their mistakes. She made it a good day. Thanks Mrs Lennon!

Security Guard is the coolest nicest dude but the rest are hard up with power. And if you get married & want to change your name on your card you'll have to send certified copies of marriage license in which is fine but then you have to create an online account which cant be approved until you apply for the confirmation number which takes weeks to come in the mail. i been waiting on my confirmation number for over a month now. so i still dont have an online account because my letter hasnt come..They never answer the phones to help me figure this out.nEdit: I finally got my letter with confirmation number. But it won't let me login to my online account. So what am I supposed to do?

Needed to update my name on my SS card. Walked in got my number, waited maybe 15 minutes in waiting area before my number was called. I had everything I needed and was in and out in less than 30 minutes. The gentleman that assisted me was very helpful and friendly

It was terrible. My wife retired on August 1. We went to the SSO on July 17, 2015 to fill out her paperwork for Medicare and Social Security. We were there for some time, spoke with a representative and were under the assumption that all her paperwork was completed for everything including her Social Security Benefit. Yesterday we receive a $500.00 bill from medicare so she calls them. Nothing was in the SS system to show she had filed. Today August 7, 2015 we went to the SS office in Whiteville which pretty much blew us off. We waited again for our turn and finally got a representative. At first she would not beleive we had come to the office on July 17. Then she found where my wife applied for medicare. After some conversation with her hand on the emergency button we were told that there was no one to help her at the office, they were to busy and we should go home and file on line. i asked for her name, her supervisor's name and whoever that Supervisor's name was. Her response was,What do you need that forWe never got anyone's name.nWhat a heck of a way to do business and treat people. I am a retired Police Detective Sergeant and a retired Correctional Programs Supervisor for the prison system. Never in public service did I treat people that way.

After having a very negative initial experience with this office, I was dreading my return visit. But then I met Connie, an enthusiastic, well-informed, polite, Social Security EXPERT. She was outstanding in every way. Thank you, Connie!

Whenever I call, the operator wants to know everything, social security numbers, why I am calling, etc. I know with whom I want to speak, and really, since that operator has no bearing on what I need, they do not need to know why I am calling, and any social security numbers. I am lucky, though, my caseworker is a nice lady, very patient with me.
