    Smooth experience getting ss card replacement on 4/18/2022. I called to schedule an appointment, but they told me on the phone that I might as well to just walk in because appointment can be made only for a date in a few weeks. So I just drove there. No appointment required. Mask still required but they will give you one if you don't have one. 15 minutes wait time. Just remember to bring all documents needed.

    I have spent not less than 20 hours over the last few months to get an appointment to do a simple status update. I even drove up to the place and was advised by the security personnel to 'not give up' on calling. I cannot imagine how long will things take once the docs are submitted. The team is hiding behind the COVID excuse. It looks like the experience is totally different in other SSA offices.

    This SSA office doesnu2019t deserve any stars at all! I have been trying to call this place in the span of 2weeks. All I heard was endless background music however there was that only ONE time it stopped and thought someone answered BUT NOu2026.I was talking and nobody was there and then it sounded like they hung up the phone. So Rude!! Does this place stopped operating?! Why no ONE and I mean NOT A SINGLE ONE answer the phone?!     Honest question, what's the best way for people to make an appointment if you're not having people come in in-person, online, and no one is picking up the phone? I've called in so many times and I either get a busy signal that then hangs up, an automated system that tells me my call can't be received, a long wait that then hangs up on its own, or a long wait where the phone actually rings and at some point it almost sounded like someone picked up but no one spoke and then the call hangs up. What other options do people have?

    I have been trying to contact ANYBODY, SOMEBODY!!! I call and it goes on a loop, they have my wrong address so they are sending me ultimatum about terminating my kid SSI if i dont send somePapersthat i NEVER received!!!     I agree with the recent reviewers that no one is picking up the calls. I have been calling them since yesterday and today. It's an urgent matter that I need an appointment. I called the SSA in Newark, managed to speak to someone, but told me that I have to call the SSA in where I am residing - seriously frustrating. Below are snapshots of how long I've been waiting multiple times. This is unacceptable.nnUPDATE: So I decided to call the Newark SSA and told them that it's been difficult that NO ONE picks up the call in this SSA location. The staff also mentioned that she had another caller who said the same. I mentioned that there are others who are in the same position and to look at this Google review. She expedite the matter by informing her supervisor to straighten out this SSA location. She got my information and number so that they will call me for an appointment. So I highly suggest y'all contact SSA Newark if you still experience the same treatment from this location of NO ONE picking up your calls and report it to SSA Newark staff. All the best folks!

    This office is so unreliable. You cant call during your break time, you need to take a day off just to call this place and wait for hours!! So unreliable.
    They do not answer the phones. I wish I can post the picture of a screenshot of how I let their phone ring for 3 hrs. I called Monday-Friday to get a person and 3 times someone just picked up the phone and left it . I can literally hear them typing and doing whatever in the background. Then they hung up. I was furious because I need help and canu2019t get it.

    If only I can give 0 stars, I would. The people working in this location are so rude and inefficient. I submitted my documents for a name change two months go. Followed up after one month and was told they had to quarantine for two weeks documents they received. I told the lady that it's been 1 month already! On the second month, I received a letter they could not grant me a new one because I could not provide my lawful status which I did. They just didn't do their research properly! A co-worker of mine submitted the exact same documents in the Staten Island location and hers was processed in 3 weeks without question. Soooooo slow and inefficient!

    Employees were so rude and unhelpful. I need to make an appointment at the facility; however, when I was there they told me they can't make an appointment for me. I was advised to make an appointment online but there isn't any online site to make an appointment. I have been calling and continued to be disconnected for a total of ~5 hours now. I have been placed on hold and while on hold my call has been disconnected. This is extremely frustrating and a waste of time when they could have easily made an appointment for me while I was there.
    unfortunately the call wait is super long and i kept getting disconnected, but after 2-3 hours i was connected with Ms. Palacios who was very nice and helped me with my problem

    Horrible. Needs major improvement. I had to waste my full day of work, the lady on window 11 was not helpful and did not know how to answer my question and made me wait to see a rep. OVER THREE HOURS. This office must understand that for people that have a full time job is unacceptable to wait an entire day. Impossible to get information over the phone. They just want to waste the time of real taxpayers!! I saw how they made arrangements to put other people ahead when they talked to the guard. Again, unacceptable. The information I was inquiring about was not even related to me! And all this to make me come another day! If the people in the front window knew what they were doing, this would not happen.

    As other people have noted, the office is overloaded. However, the people I dealt with on several visits couldn't have been nicer. They were patient and thorough. The long waits are crazy but....you can thank Congress for underfunding all Federal agencies like this one. IF and it'a big IF, Congress would properly fund the agency, they could hire the 10 additional people at this office they really need to be able to service all us citizens in a time fashion.
