Long wait time on hold(to be expected they have only a skeleton crew in the building). Spoke to a very polite woman who couldn't find any of the paperwork in their system. Paperwork gets scanned in so anyone at any office can find it. Has not been done yet paperwork sent in over 2 months now. Was told that she found the person handling the claim, directed me to her, to me to hold on she would transfer me over. I ended up with voice mail and now I've been waiting days for a response. They had no issues processing a stopping benefits for my daughter instead of the paperwork I sent in.

My wife and I are preparing for Medicare. We faxed completed forms to the Worcester SSA office per instructions. After we did not get any acknowledgement of the forms being received, I attempted calling the office. After 45 minutes on hold, I gave up and hung up the phone. This is a fine example of our many years of taxes hard at work. UPDATE: We called the toll free number for the SSA and they provided us with a different phone number from that posted online. The second number was answered quickly and the personnel were very helpful. I recommend not using the phone number on this link, but call the national number instead.

If I could give it -5 I would. Completely unprofessional, disrespectful and negligent. Not only can their data entry people not figure out how to put in an address but they sign you up for stuff you didn't ask for. You sit on hold forever and they hide behind covid to excuse their slipshod work ethics when they are busy hanging up on you. There are only 3 people that actually do their job and the rest can't seem to even return a call. If possible avoid this place like the plague. A totally worthless government installation. I can't imagine how much tax dollars get siphoned off to pay their bloated salaries. The place is rotten from the top down. Themanagersdon't even call you or their own staff back. Talk about the barrel making the apples rotten.

I spoke with Cassandra from the National Office after waiting for more than an hour plus it was the second time same day (was over and hour and they could not hear me on the phone so ended the call) and she was very pleasant and helpful with my situation. We did not resolve my situation and it was not the answer I was hoping for, but hopeful it will be processed very fast. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Applied for SS in a timely manner 2019 and was denied as I am a State employee. Reapplied when my husband applied for SS.NOW I am eligible for Medicare benefits under him.nReceived a call from NJ stating they can not override a letter stating I will have a penalty because I applied later they told me to appeal. So I did in March 2021.nI have never heard from them stating I have an appeal pending. They never return calls. You can not get a extension number .I hot the supervisor extension because someone knows a person who works there.nThe supervisor did call me in the Spring,he confirmed yes appeal is there, yes he can see I applied on time and reapplied and it should be OK.nNow 9 months later im still paying penalties, still never heard from worker.nCall a few days ago after holding for 30 minutes ask woman to take down my cell number she said she will not call me back if we get disconnected..WOW..so I explained situation. Also asking her if she can see any progress on my case. She seemed very confused and uninformed to see what's going on with case. She said she can only put me threw to worker. I said she has never called me back..it's been 10 months. Asked to be connected to supervisor that worker is voice-mail is full..phone bank person disconnected me REALLY!!!nI worked for the State I know every call is noted on the computer with what was said and all form letters are shown on computer.nI left a message with McGovern office 10 months with no contact is unexceptable

What everyone else is saying. Can't get through. Have to call repeatedly only to have to try again. Several times the line just went silent. I did miraculously manage to speak to someone last week only to be told someone else will call me this week to make a critically important appt for insurance coverage. No one has called back. Fri will be a holiday. COMPLETELY AWFUL (NON)-SERVICE!

This past year (2021) my wife and I have had to contact the Worcester SS office regarding Medicare Part B forms, sign up, etc. and retirement questions. Every time we called we received very good service. On different calls we spoke with Sadie, James and Peter and all answered our questions thoroughly and we never felt rushed. When you make the call it does take some time on hold to get to a person but we always received the help we needed.

JUST LOOK AT ALL OTHER RECENT REVIEWS, Avoid this place at all cost, Called and spoke with a SANDY SULLIVAN which could only give meI don't knowas answers, then get told im being difficult and un helpful. If you ask to speak with the office manager they will hang up on you and when u call back and say your name they will continue to hang up on you. This office also permanently damaged my Marriage certificate. Madison Place does not reply to voicemails (waited patiently over a week for a call back) If you have had a bad experience file a formal complaint against this office or nothing will change! There is no excuse being miserable, and complaining to callers about the work from home situation, or the long hours, or being employed by the state when so many are out of work. You don't like your job? Quit and ill work the job with a smile.

Called looking for clarification. The woman was rude kept going around in circles then got mad at me when I asked for clarification and told her what she said made no sense. She flared, whined about working from home from 13 months which I tried to tell her I understood that but she kept giving me contradicting information. She yelled at me then when I tried to diffuse she hung up on me.nnI immediately called back, recieved another woman. Clearly working from home based on background noise, which is fine. I do understand having to work from home! But you know what? She was professional, gave me my answer, reassured me of their process, and gave me reassurance. There were no circles. She explained what to expect and sent me on my merry way.nnFirst woman needs to do better.nSecond lady, excellent customer service.

Sady or Sandy, whatever her name is...has got to be the most incompetent, and unpleasant person to ever answer the phone. Not only did she hang up on my husband twice for being annoyed with his questions for information, she insisted that my husband wasn't an American citizen and refused to help in any way. Reading through all these comments about how this office runs, im not suprised she's employed there.

Horrible service! Horrible experience. Very unprofessional and these people do not do there job. I've been trying to get my case together since November 2020 now here it is June 1st 2021. I called every month every week to switch everything over to my new address and new situation. With no help from them. There only job is to process paper work and handle peoples cases. They litterally get payed for being rude, in consistent, and unprofessional. This is the second month i didnt receive my check at all and it could take up to 6 months to recover the money back and this is how i feed my kids. Seriously a shame. They wont even answer the phone for me

    Carrie Arbuckle
Nowhere on the website does it say that they are appointment only, so my daughter went there twice. Once on Friday at 3:30 & they were closed. Ok it's a government office so she figured they banged out early. Just went again today and still closed, with no sign on the door or anything. I called & low & behold they are appt only so I go through the phone prompts and get hung up on 5 TIMES in a row trying to make an appt. Make that 6 times.

One of the oldest SSA buildings in the State. Case-workers dont respond back to voicemails. The building is closed during Covid with employees working from comforts of home. I was told they had a stack of 800 faxes they were behind. I expected better service than Lowell and Fitchburg offices but this one looks worse and has the worse wait times and staff performance.

Called 4 times in a row and was hung up on each time. Once a female answered for a second in a quite unpleasant tone and then hung up once I began to ask my question the other three times they picked up the call and hung up without saying anything.
    Janny Pojani
Waited thirty minutes for them to finally answer and received attitude!!! The lady hung up on me after asking why I need a translator for someone I can translate for! No help at all I wish I got the ladies name! Just dont bother calling all they do is hang up.. SO RUDE!!!!

I arrived with my son to get a replacement social security card, and waited almost 3 hours just to be called. They have a very poor system for waiting. You check in at a kiosk to get a number. A tv displays what u201cnumbersu201d they are on. Do not expect the numbers to be in order! I had number 118. As the numbers got closer to mine, I thought I would get called soon. But, the next thing I knew it jumped to 148, 130, then to 85. So, you have absolutely no way of knowing when it will be your turn . I saw people arrive and get called that had gotten there an hour after I arrived. This has got to be one of the worse managed agencies as far as customer service.

I'm only giving 1 star because it's the only way to leave a comment if I could without giving a star I would!! A friend of mine has been trying to contact a representative on a number of occasions regarding her case and has left nearly a dozen voice mails over at least 3 months withABSOLUTELY ZEROresponses not even a letter in the mail. I understand that they are an extremely busy organization but... to not reach out in any way is just ridiculous to me.

I went here for an appt, and was completely misled by the staff. As others have said, the wait is long but the woman we met with congenial, so we left there feeling pleasantly surprised. However, even though she encouraged me to contact her with any further questions, she was insanely rude every time I reached out to her. At first I thought it was just one off communication, but it was like talking to a completely different person from thereon out.nnI'm honestly not sure what the point of reviewing necessary evils like this nightmare building could even be. I doubt anyone thinks they'll be having a quick & pleasant experience at the SSA, but I'll tell you this: I'll NEVER forget the name of the rep I was forced to speak with. She's so unabashedly unprofessional that I wouldn't be surprised if I experienced reprisal for reporting her; here or via SSA.
