Horrendous and extremely lengthy experience changing my name post marriage.nnI have been given mis information several times during the whole process (information that contradicts what is listed on their gov website).nOnce Lowell office approved to change my own name, it is a month later, and I am still waiting to get my updated SSN card in the USPS mail... I've called over 10+ times now for status updates...nnBEWARE:n1) they use thecovid safetyexcuse thus you cannot schedule an in-person appointment and need to drop off very important documents (drivers license, passport, etc) which they will mail back unsecurely via slow snail USPS mail. You cannot go pick up.nn2) They do not keep any USPS tracking information (unless a few people lied to me) so for all I know, my identity has been stolen because my ssn card is lost in the unreliable United States Postal System.nn3) They frequently disconnect their phones DURING THEIR listedphoneBusiness Hours so it is absolutely impossible to reach a human.nnAll day 3-15-2022 they had the busy tone. That person or persons working today should be fired because their website clearly states that they should have been reachable for public calls today.

Itu2019s impossible to get an appointment. When calling to make an appointment. The representative keeps repeating they can help. But they canu2019t, and they proceeded to tell you that you need to make an appointment but donu2019t want to give an appointment. I have been trying to get an appointment since April 2020 and I still keep getting the runaround. And then they just hang up on you when you get frustrated because they canu2019t comprehend a simple task of making an appointment with a representative .

Khmer / Cambodia translator is awful, doesnu2019t know how to help with translating at all! When she ask in the Khmer language, she should know how Khmer will respond back, last name is stated first before the first name, why can she understand that?! She still didnu2019t make it clear which name to say first in the Khmer language , and keep asking the same thing! My poor mother gotten so confused in the process!

( April 7th) After 2 years closed because of Covid they're open to walk ins again. They're short staffed ( 13 desks/Windows) and only 3 or 4 open. But they were polite and very professional.

My wife called in to request an SSN denial letter to renew her driver's license, first agent said it will be mailed out soon, after a month, never received anything. Called in 2nd time, was told the letter will be mailed out tomorrow. Still don't have it after 2 weeks. Her driver's license expired a week ago, and cannot drive my kid to school. I just want to share my experience with you, never trust what they tell you. They are just wasting tax payer's money.

Mrs. Berrios was polite and pleasant. She is very knowledgeable. Spoke with her a few weeks ago and my issue is already solved.

Absolutely unprofessional and ridiculous. I called many times. Finally got someone in the phone. I'm explaining to them what I'm trying to get done and asking if I can go in asked if I can bring in my documents. She is super rude. Tells me to send in original documents. I ask her how can I send in my license. I need to drive with it. She hung up on me. Call back and she is super rude. Wish I got her name but wow, lack of professionalism. If you don't like your job, find another.

I Called the Lowell SSA office to ask a question, After being on hold for an hour and 45 minutes. The agent that answered was rude and told me I was not authorized on the account I was calling about. I said The person that I am calling for is right next to me and they can go you authorization to talk to me. The Agent said we don't do that and hung up on me. I then called the main SSA office in New York and they were able to help me with no issues. They were able to find the issue but they couldn't resolve the issue only the Lowell office could. This was 3 weeks ago and we are still having issues with the Lowell office correcting the issue. We call everyday and are told something different every time. I had to file a complaint with the SSA office, The state reps office and also the Mass Attorney Generals office. The Lowell SSA office is horrible and they don't care that their actions are affecting peoples lives. They all need to be fired and replaced with people that have some morals.

Regardless of appointment this social security office will make sure they take as much of your time as possible. Employees have zero interest in helping you. How is this place allowed to continue like this??????

Apparently the security guard thinks it's okay for clients to put their names address social security number and how they get their income on a public computer.

Workers can't even get a recorded interview on paper properly. Setting up fraud charges when all they had to do was look at their own papers in front of them. Wasted courts time. Place is a joke. Please hire people who want to work. Not just guess an answer they thought they heard. If their mistake creates another fraud claim. I'm suing this place for lack of listening skills. Still awaiting the call back to fix her mistakes on my interview.called main number to just make them aware. They said I could get appt in September. Wow trying to fix a mistake is such a process. Thank you Lowell office.

Iu2019ve been working on a case with them since end of 2019. Recently got a call from them in June 2020 to send in a few personal documentationu2019s. One month later I havenu2019t heard from them. I give them a call to get an update and they stated they donu2019t have them. Mind you I overnighted these documents and I tracked it which said they received. Those unspoken with on the phone kept saying they canu2019t do anything about it. They really need to keep track of things so they do got lose people personal information.

Incredibly helpful. Clarabelle, I believe was her name, the supervisor was very kind, quick, and helped me get my name changed. I ended up getting sick because of my pregnancy and they were quick to get me water and crackers and make sure I was okay. The two security guards were also very helpful and incredibly knowledgeable. I cannot thank them enough.

Mrs Pedroza was nice. Other than that nothing good to say. They stopped my benefits over one year ago because they decided I didn't qualify for them, they've now refused to talk to representative payee about why & what can be done to reinstate. Which I'm certain has to be against the law. You shouldn't be treated poorly just because you are poor or going through a hard time. Treating people with kindness gets you kindness in return, a little compassion goes a long way.

My husband and i stopped by to start our Medicare sign up. We met with a man named Irving there. He was pleasant and helpful. Very knowledgeable about what we needed and saw to it we got just that. Could not have gone better.

Waiting room filled with entitled people who have no patience and loudly express their opinions. I am blown away at who is getting checks and what they do with taxpayers money. My son is severely disabled and we constantly have to prove it because of the disgusting abuse of our country's system. The employees are slow and bitter because it's New England and they have to deal with the same people who I have to sit next to in the waiting room. GIVE ME, GIVE ME, GIVE ME... Sad that drug and alcohol tests aren't mandatory and people who are completely able and should be working don't have to because they know how to get and abuse the system because they either learned from their parents or a doctor has enabled the behavior. Lowell office is nice but the whole situation is just bad and I always worry that abuse will end the small supplemental check we get ,so the two heroin addicts who are always in the lobby with all their belongings bragging how they have somehow got $1400 each and can continue to to get their fix all the while being homeless using food stamps and shelters . Make an appointment if you can or just go watch the circus its eye opening ..BEWARE don't take photos the lil rent a cop will yell at you

My mother has not gotten her SS pension in almost 2 years. We come to the Lowell office and no one is able to give any information. You submit paperwork and are told to call back in 3 to 4 weeks only to find out that they canu2019t find anything. Unbelievable.

I have not been to the Lowell office, but if I have a question or need help I call the Lowell office, I have never had any rude or difficult customer service, They are very helpful and informative, It sounds to me (my opinion) maybe some of you went in with negative attitudes? You get what you give

Waiting times depend on Day/Time you go. Never any parking in their parking lot which has like 7 spots and shares it with other places, so basically there is never any availability. So be prepared for meter parking and to walk... Also some employees are Rude, unhelpful, & seem to hate their job. while some can be nice, and go out of their way to help. Just gotta hope you get lucky.

Well would of been better if they don't make you feel like you should of taken a different letter. Waiting for a letter is like waiting for the zombie apocalypse to happen. Would not mind as much if they called more c between the many a and b to go up to the windows. If you want to be in and out try and make them work I guess. Hate waiting next time getting an appointment.

Went there to update SS card. Arrived before the door opened. Grabbed a number ticket from a machine. Waited for about 20 minutes before called. It took about 5 minutes to update my information. Overall pleasant experience.

They have continued to hold my health hostage all over paperwork that they are taking their sweet time to do ...and if you think your calling the local office your not its a useless call center thats rude wont transfer you to a supervisor and hangs up on you im done im taking them to court
    Adam Medeiros
Called at 9:30am and automated system said I would be called back in 1 hour. 4 hours later at 1:00pm, I got a call back and the person told me I needed to speak with the local branch (who I called in the first place). I was told to call back the original branch, and that if they left me on hold for more than 5 minutes, to hang up and call back. Essentially the absolute worst process of all time. Would have given 0 stars if it let me.

The wait time after you go in after 930 is ridiculous. They expanded it but there still seems to be 4-5 people working. Iu2019ve been trying to get an appointment but the only time is at 2. Thereu2019s still not a lot of seating. Hope the actually get more people to fill in the rest of the booths
    Jennifer De Souza
Representatives of this office don't even look at their computers, they want you to do things by mail or by phone..Why does Lowell still have aSocial security Administrationfor?
    Katie Farinha
The website lies about what you need and they will not get a supervisor when you want make formal complaint. Very rude, unhelpful. They lie about you need for a replacement s.s.n card.
