I've been to the office twice and both times they were professional and quick.nGetting an appointment took awhile, but otherwise it was a pleasant experience.nToday, I spoke on the phone with a representative who was professional and helpful. The phone wait was very short, which is a pleasant surprise.

Very disappointed they where disrespectful and not helpful and they hang up on you without helping solve your problems. Never have a supervisor to speak with. And never returned my call.

Just talked to a rep here to ask couple questions, she answered after 10 or 12 rings. Had a such a negative attitude not to help. Like I was bothering her. She did not let me speak or when I spoke she did not want to hear it. Unbelievable!! She finally hung up to my face. I wanted to know why partial income was reported in my social security page, and if I could collect ex-spouse ss before mine. It was that simple. She asked me why the employer gave me 1099 instead of w2. Maybe you can ask that to the employer not me?!?!.

Yall are a joke i have been trying to get assistance and none of your employees are helpful at all and are all very rude and disrespectful and clearly don't know the information that they should know got told multiple different things just for none of them to work

Nice place, the security man has been here for years. He always goes beyond his duty and always is helping someone who may have missed their # being called or whatever. And he remembers everyone and greets them kindly.nToo bad I cant say the same about all the workers behind the scenes. I think some of them enjoy pushing people's buttons. They clearly don't want to help anyone and despise their job. Some ppl. Don't belong working with the public.....I can say that about one older grumpy woman that works here!!!! She is horrible!

Today was my first time ever visiting the Social Security Admin in Abingdon, MD. I adopted a child and needed to get a new social security card for him. My experience could not have been any better from the security guard at the door helping to make sure we had the right forms to the representative that assisted us in getting not only my son's new card but myself a replacement card (which I had not planned on doing today). We were in and out in approximately 15 minutes. The staff was exceptional and very helpful. I wish every government office could be as helpful and pleasant to deal with as this office was this morning. I can't thank them enough for taking care of us.

I actually had an incredibly pleasant experience at this SSA location. I went to the office expecting a long wait and rude employees, as I've encountered during many other government office visits, but I was wrong. The wait was not long, the employees were friendly and helpful and I was in and out in less than 20 minutes.

Great news! I was dreading my urgent visit to the Social Security Office in Abingdon on April 18th and a follow-up visit on April 22nd. In both cases they were walk-ins. I did not have an appointment. In both cases I was seen within minutes of arrival by Gwen on the 18th and Ms. Lynch on the 22nd. They were so friendly, helpful, knowledgable and so efficient that I didn't even have time to read a page in the book I brought with me!!! (In fact, I didn't have time to look up an item on Amazon on my phone!!) Now that's amazing.nWhen you walk in, a Maryland State Trooper is sitting in the lobby at a desk and he directs you to register at the kiosk. It takes less than a minute! Then a ticket pops out with a number much like the MVA with benches and a TV screen much like MVA; however, in February I made 2 visits to the MVA and was there forever and in both cases the employees that were assigned to assist me with license renewal and then automobile registration, made it clear that I was part of a job they hated.nThis was not the case at the Social Security Office so if you have some business you are putting off, by all means do yourself a favor and get that matter handled this week. I was so impressed with the times I spent there that when I went back to clarify a matter and then got Ms. Lynch, I asked for 2 comment cards so that I could formally commend Gwen and Ms.Lynch in writing.n(And oh by the way, if you receive superior service, be sure to go to management and let the boss know AND BE ENTHUSIASTIC because the public is quick to criticize but not so quick to commend!)nAnd to make your kudos count, follow through on making sure that employee gets positive feedback, by asking their boss to let them know a customer was pleased with their superior service, and then if you can, inform that employee what great things you said and to whom and tell them you are going to check back to see if their going the extra-mile was rewarded or at least acknowledged. If it wasn't, track down thatbossand ask why and hold them accountable. (Beware of employers who focus on the negative and dismiss positive feedback and then wonder why employees quit.)

I arrived a little before 11:00 and I didn't have to wait long. A lot more people arrived after 11:00.The guard said the best time is between 3:00 and 3:30. Good to know.

I been disabled since January 28, 2019 and I paid into long term and short term on my job. Lincoln financial had me apply for disability. Once I received it I owed all of it back to Lincoln financial. It was a real scan.

I must say these people were very efficient with what they did despite the young lady that was in there really giving them a hard time when all they were trying to do is their job I myself was in and out of there in less than 20 minutes

Appointment recommended but doesn't guarantee that you'll see someone at your appointment time. Not very helpful but better than a phone call. It's government at it's worst.

Staff not as informed as I hoped they should be. Good for simple questions, but not so much with detailed information. Very disappointed with quality of training. This should be ourgo-toplace, but falls short of my expectations. If this is a representation of our government... I am ashamed.

The wait was less than 30min. That's not bad. The employees I encountered were pleasant!
