Had to get my last name changed over because I just got married. They needed my original social security, original birth certificate, marriage license and another form of ID (gave my Medicaid card). Was told Iu2019d get everything back in the mail. Received my new social security card with last name changed but didnu2019t receive any of my documents. Called numerous times didnu2019t get a hold of anyone. Got a call a few weeks later stating the address I gave them on file was invalid so the documents got set back to the office. I was confused because I clearly got my new social security card with the same address. Was told to just pick it up at the office. Made it to the office, had to wait quite some time just for them to tell me THEY LOST MY ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS! No sympathy just a u201csorry, Iu2019m not sure there is much we can dou201d ??? My original documents and there isnu2019t anything you can do? Still havenu2019t been able to get a hold of anyone at the social security office since then and itu2019s been 2 weeks ! Iu2019ve called every day. No answer just on hold for hours till I get fed up. I still need to switch over my license and I canu2019t even do that without my birth certificate. I live states away from my birth home u2026 itu2019s not that easy to get a document like that. Worst experience here ever!!

Ive never been to a prison but I imagine theyre not much different that this cement block of a building. This place is FREEZING, icy, cold, depressing IF you can manage to get ahold of their staff who hasnt been in the office since 2020 to make an appointment. When you call you get an address that is different than what is on the social security website and google. So 3 potential options they want me to send my original documents to?? Forget that.nAlso website contradicts itself about which documents to/to not send.nThe actual place is organized out of control. Makes the DMV look like a premier agency. Nobody knew who had appointments, anybody would walk in and skip the line. Wild.nGiving 1 extra star because woman who eventually helped me was fast and I had no issues with her.nAgency overall? Yikes.

Bunch of lazy customer representatives. Iu2019ve called numerous times over a 2 day period and no one picked up the phone. I would hear the phone ring, and then being sent to hold, over and over. This is just poor, and inexcusable for a federal service facility.

None of the employees have the same answer for the same question. First they wanted adoption papers from 40 years ago. They denied me even before I got the papers, and I canu2019t request to resubmit because there no way online, even though I was told there was. This office seriously needs some help. And itu2019s a management down issue, donu2019t try and blame the 9-5s

I was over an hour early for my appointment due to work constraints. The security guard graciously asked the staff if they could help. Shawn - the staff who helped me, came back a little early from lunch just so he could take of me. This is the kind of service we need all around the world. Made my day so much better and made the process of changing my name that much easier! Kudos all around!

This office will not pickup the phone. Iu2019ve tried contacting them countless times over the last 2 months, and they never answer. I called the national SSI line (3 hours waiting for them to answer) and they directed me back to this local office. I tried doing what I needed in the online account, and the account points back to this local office. This local office wonu2019t take walk ins, eitheru2026.this is unacceptable.

After waiting for the 'next available', no one would answer the phone. To make an appointment you have to call this number, but, again...no more ne answers. How does that work?nnOur 'government' wants use to all go back to work, yet they this office is understaffed

I called early in the morning and got through right away The person at SSA was fantastic. Very courtious, well informed about his job and knew exactly what I needed and did it. His customer service was also the best! If you need help they are the ones to go to!

Ms Briggs super awesome to deal with when the system Auto generated a letter that didn't need to come to me. She gave excellent personal service answered all my questions and was very polite and friendly as well as professional. She gets an AAA+++ rating because I am a retired customer service expert.

Spoke with Mr. Jonathan Pope, 430 Mall Blvd, Savannah, Ga. I would like to say that Mr Pope was very professional and helpful. He had no problem going over my concerns (even after me asking him a couple of times). I appreciate the time that he gave and all his assistance. Personally on a scale from 1-10, I would give him a 10. Kudos to Mr. Pope,Savannah Ga office.

I have been in the customer service industry for over 30 years and I know good customer service. Alissa Dallas exceeds the term good customer service. She was very friendly, patient and informative. She gave me information that I did not think to ask for, which was very helpful. She is truly an asset to the Social Security Administration and deserves to be commended.

I have mixed feelings. I had a great experience with Mr. Pope today. He was amazing. He resolved my application problem in 10 minutes. The down side is that it took 2 weeks and contacts with 18 other people who did not resolve the problem before I found him..

The best experience and Customer Service rep. Mrs Dallas has been a God send to me and the Social Security office in Savannah.nShe has pleasantly courteously and genuinely taken the time to research my file in depth, thoroughly accurately in order to find the answers to my many queries. And I always have many.nFurther she has made sure and explained everything in detail and a very kind manner.nThere have been three other ladies who also have helped a lot. Unfortunately I do not remember their names. They are all very helpful.... Kudos to you All.nnThere was a young man who was terrible impatient rude demanding and not willing to take the time. Telling me incorrectly that he sent me am email and when I informed him it was a text and not an email he became even more impatient curt and rude enough to hang up on me. Unfortunately I did not get his name either. I hope I never get him answering my call and also hope other people have not had to be treated that way.nnHowever the majority of the people there have been so wonderful and I am better for the experience.nThank you again.nFili Udvadia

My husband and I visited to get clarification on questions of our benefits as they related to a life changing event. We were fortunate enough to get Ms. Harrell as our adviser. We were very impressed with her handling of our situation on the first visit. She was well groomed and dressed as the professional she was . Her personality was bubbly and pleasant and that made our visit a happy experience. One could tell she was very capable in her job position. She gave us clear instructions and asked us to return with documents when we had filed our income tax for 2019. We visited a second time, and she remembered our situation and, with our documentation in hand, satisfied our problems quickly and efficiently. We were very pleased with the excellent service Ms. Harrell provided. She is definitely an asset to the Savannah Social Security Administration.

After so much irritation dealing with the reps at SSI. Ms. McNeal from the Statesboro GA office came through and she was so patient. I never knew how hard it was to get documents in writing these days. Thanks Ms McNeal for everything

Ms. Kelly was the most positive, kind, and reassuring person I have ever spoken to on the phone. She was very detailed in her answers about what I needed to know and I appreciate that so much. I felt very satisfied after speaking with her on the phone. Positive experience!!!

I worked with a few people here but only had impeccable service from one associate , MR.ORTEGA was amazing , patient , kind and VERY HELPFUL. Changing my ss# due to marriage and having to send in my original birth cert, marriage license , and drivers license only for it to get lost because it was sent back to my address without my lot # on it and he immediately did what he could to notify the main office and his managers to be on the look out for my returned mail and immediately reprocessed everything while I was on the phone and verified the mailing address so it will get to me the second time around ! What great service from Mr. Ortega, I appreciate you and your hard work! Thank you for being you !

There is no option for zero stars so I had to pick one star ...although I would not even give them one single star. The rent-a-cop thinks he's a real cop. This place is ridiculous...they confront you if you eat a snack or drink your coffee or use your phone. The guard is on a power trip. The wait is horrendous. This is big brother at its worst. I am a 63 year old lady and don't deserve to be roughed up for eating a doughnut while I starve and crash from low blood sugar waiting forever to get service. Last time I was here I brought a craft project to do for my Red Hat Group while I sat for hours and was thrown out for having a weapon (scissors). He acted like I was wearing a vest with a bomb. I was gathering up my stuff as fast as I could to get out of there and apparently it wasn't fast enough. From now on I am going to go to the Brunswick office. This is gatekeeping at best.

THIS PLACE NEVER EVER ANSWER THEIR PHONES!!!! SO UNPROFESSIONAL, REFUSING WALK-INS BUT ALSO REFUSING TO ANSWER THE PHONE LINES
    Joebuzz Borg
Tried calling. Got left on hold listing to their music for 20 minutes then it hangs up on me. Called the national number. It hangs up on me while on hold after 10 minutes. Just keeps saying my call is important for the entire call and just hangs up. I believe our government is FAILING AT ALL LEVELS.

I would like to give my appreciation to Mr. Pope in the Savannah office. He has been exceptional in serving his position and representing the epitome of a member topping a performance system. What the world needs more of are people who serve by doing what they are expected to do. Mr. Pope is an example of competence and consistency. In addition, Mr. Shuman has also been exceptional in assisting in helping my loved one. Iu2019ve spoken to him twice on the phone and his service was compassionate and effective.

First off I would like to personally thank MR. POPE! Iu2019ve been struggling with my application for weeks, because of miscommunication, and wrong information. Today when I got in touch with Mr. Pope, not only did he go OVER AND BEYOND to fix my issues, he was polite, patient, and courteous! He got my issue resolved quickly, and apologized for all the miscommunication Iu2019ve experienced these past weeks. The level of Costumer service is so hard to find these days! I appreciate him immensely..

Horrible experience. Staff have no idea what they are doing, security guard states appointments only but can not help with general questions! Forget trying to call, people answer the phone, introduce themselves and then say nothing while you hear them having conversations in the background!!!

I had issues with the Direct Express Card Services:-/. First they told me my card was mailed on May 24th. Today I was supposed to receive my first SSDI payment and my card still isn't here, June 9th. I called Direct Express back and they told me I wasn't in their system. Online at SSA it says a deposit was made to the card. So I called the Savannah SSA office. Got a hold of this young lady who was very polite and super friendly. Mrs. Briggs went above and beyond to help me. Thanks you so much. Mrs. Stewart ROCKS as well. Everyone at the Savannah office is so helpful and kind. Bless them all.
