The federal website itself doesnu2019t have anything telling you what youu2019d need in order to change a minoru2019s name on the card so I called and asked. I had Crystal on the phone and she was incredibly helpful and set me up an appt AND was humble and listened to me discipline my child without hanging up on me ud83dude05 lots of respect earned and much appreciated help. So glad this office is so down to earth and not robotic. I always get so excited when I call into a government agency and the people are personable.

I don't know how anyone can have a good/great experience, I cant even get anyone on the phone. I keep getting a recording stating they cannot take my call at this moment. You cannot just show up there because of Covid (Which everyone else is back in office.) CRAZY!!!

By far the nicest people I have ever spoke to over the phone. Let me tell you they are on our side. They do everything in their power to make sure we get paid every month. The office in Augusta go way above and beyond the customer service threshold. Ms Richards who I spoke to was amazing!! We talked like we have known each other for years. I was blessed when she answered my call and I thank you Ms Richards. God keeps putting good people in front of me!! So when you get old like me just remember there are still good people in this world that care about us and our well being!! God bless you all at the SSI in Augusta!!

The customer service lady was really rude she caught an attitude with me because I ask her to please repeat herself. She was very bland and monotone, like she didn't even want to be there. I get it can be rough ,but I was really confuse why she had an attitude. She also ask for all my information just to hang up, I honestly do not even know if I have an appointment or not.

Takes a long time to get someone on the phone, had to call a few times before I could reach someone. But once I did, Ms Farmer was very helpful! I think there's a high call volume since they aren't allowing in-person visits so just be patient!

I am rating the call I just completed a 2. The agent on the other line hand very poor customer skills from the beginning of the call. My perception is that she was already previously irritated with another issue before taking my call, answering muffled and with a deep, long sigh after her opening introduction. After explaining my issue with mailing and online access, she harshly states that copies of documentation is NOT ACCEPTED via mail and that my daughter cannot access online because she IS NOT OLD enough for an account and to MAIL IN ANY ORIGINAL DOCUMENTATION. (ID, medical or school records) No explain action why since this does not deem a dire need appointment. Pausing.... because I canu2019t believe the audacity of this government employeeu2019s tone, starting with u201cIu2019m sorry??u201d I restate what is communicated. Poor attitude, Poor service...we customers are not all the same.

I would give this a zero but unfortunately that was not an option. My son was born in April of 2020 and I have yet to receive a sscard for him. They refuse to let me make an appointment because areplacement cardisn't a priority. First off its not a replacement when they never sent it in the first place. Second they want me to mail them my actual id and not a copy. Oh wait there was one more option I can PAY for a passport and send them that. This is ridiculous. Also the lady on the phone needs some serious training classes on customer service skills.

I have never waited this long to speak on the phone with someone, and I was cut off 5 times!!!! If I could give no star I would. Totally incapable and idiotic customer service!n7 phone calls, 4 time wait for 20 min. 3 times cut off for no reason! And all I need is to set an appointment.

This is such an inconvenience for them to still be closed. I need to handle 2 things with my daughter and myself. Because it is not deemed u201ca dire needu201d I canu2019t get an appointment. Instead they would prefer me to send in my original Driveru2019s license, medical card, or medical records in the mail. Uh no. 1 the way USPS is set up it would get lost or take forever. Come on government everyone else is back to work. Including the DMV. Why is the Social Security office any different? I completely understand the importance of keeping everyone safe. Iu2019m on board with that. However everyone else has taken all the steps and precautions to assist with that. How are you exempt?

I would like to thank my Representative, Mr. Guy Walker! Thank you for making my experience with the Social Security Administration wonderful and productive. Mr Walkeru2019s knowledge and his positive attitude were Amazing!

I absolutely have no understanding why we pay people to sit around and take 20 minutes to answer the phone. Absolutely lazy and ridiculous. If everywhere else is open then they can open too. Sick of this.

Just got out of there. It was pleasurably SUPER fast! The elder white officer was very caring and gentle as I asked him too many questions feeling sleepy in the morning( didn't see the pen on the board and asked where the number of my service window was) and he did not get irritated with me. So impressed, if I was the hiring manager there i would gave hired him too-- we need more people like him everywhere !!! Also, I walked up to the window(#13) assigned to me and the black fellow who attended to me was very calm, sweet and knowledgeable as well as attentive! Everything went smooth from the start to the end; I would do business with this place if i have to again. They should keep these same people. Fantastic job!

I had been having a pretty rough day prior to going to the SSA and was not in the best of moods. I walked in, expecting the worst and, to be honest, had a bit of a chip on my shoulder. I was even unnecessarily rude to the security for asking me to not bring in my beverage. They were nothing but polite and professional with everyone they interacted with and although the wait was long, it didnt seem to be due to inefficiency. Once I made it to a window, the clerk was helpful and friendly. One of the best experiences I have had dealing with government-ran offices.

Just wanted to share that I called this office today and the service I got was the very best. I like to give recognition where it's due and representative Terry answered and was the bomb.com he was very helpful and answered all my questions. Its nice that in these hard times people can still be so kind and helpful to one another.

It was fast, efficient, and so easy. This way of handling Social Security issues was the best best interaction we've ever had with Social Security. Hope this stays in place!

First experience was crazy. Crowded to Max. I came with my stroller of my 9 month old. I say sat a closed window to fit me and my stroller. After sitting there 45 minutes another officer tells me to move with no where to sit. Scattered numbers were being called and I suggest they have all windows open and someone to at least handle minor questions and concerns I mean it would help clear the seats, take care of everybody and those who need to report back to work or other things to do can leave. No such thing as a quick in and out or a quick application process. Put those officer to work, if someone coming in to complete a replace card form or new, give me my application now that way when you call me you can take care of me instead of calling my number, then giving me my application to sit and wait till I'm called again. Chaotic and frustrating.

Hi, I would like to thank the Augusta Georgia Social Security Administration for their help and support. A special thank you for Mr. Charles Brown who remained steadfast with his support. Mr. Brown sent me a text the next day asking me to please phone him as he was able to provide answers to my questions. I am very grateful to Mr. Brown and the entire Social Security Administration Team at the Augusta Georgia office. Other employees have also helped me in the past. THANK YOU!!

I was told my documents were in the office and I could just pick them up. I call and let them know just to wait and be told I now need an appointment I have been trying to get my marriage license back since I got married back in November

I went to the Augusta SSA to get a SS card for my disabled brother. I chose a day and time that showed the least number of clients on Google Popular times for the office. My brother and I waited an hour in a crowded waiting room (maybe 50 people) that was probably 50% family members, some with as many as three people with the client. The security guard (who was great) politely reminded people several times to keep their cell phones turned off because of the noise. Our service man was borderline rude and we left without getting a card because an expired drivers license is not accepted as identity.nnBecause of the problems I had with the Augusta SSA, I called Statesboro to see if I could reschedule a benefits application for retirement to their office. The Statesboro SSA opened 6 minutes early with the security officer giving instructions to the waiting clients and guiding them to sign in. She instructed people to mute their cell phones and limit the people coming in to only those that were required for the appointment.nnI was called to a window exactly at 9 am and two other windows opened at that time. Mrs. W, my service woman, was personable, funny, and quickly competent. When I left 40 minutes later with my benefits set up, five windows were open and only about a half dozen clients were waiting to be served.nnI recommend driving the extra miles and choosing the Statesboro SSA over the Augusta SSA.

It's clear one of the clerks here doesn't know how to read forms. Myself and our bank (Wells Fargo) are more knowledgeable on setting up representative bank accounts. It is clear one or more of the clerks does not pay attention to detail and puts the client at fault...when you do things even by the book. Not very satisfied with my experience. In the end I got what I needed, AFTER I pointed out the details to this person.

Literally the most misinformed, incompetent people I've ever had the disfortune of interacting with.
    Caroline Shrewsbury
There was a very rude and aggressive older white male security officer on the day of my visit. He was berating people for not doing the things he would do. He was aggressive about sitting down in a crowded waiting area and even tried to remove people from the office that were only there to use the services. I was embarrassed that the city I live in provided such poor customer service and understanding. I hope that in the future others dont feel attacked by this security officer with his intimidating demeanor (walking around with his hand on his weapon). He clearly has a problem with the amount or overcrowding of people there.

My brother is 18 years old and wouldn't know the answered to their questions if our mother didn't help and point them out to him. The lady they talked to this morning saidTake me off speaker no one can answer my questions but you.First off like I said he 18 years old he's not gonna know all the answers, if any at all. Secondly, why is it that you had absolutely no problem talking to our mother when we were going through the same bs with me? What's wrong with speaking to the woman with all the answers now rather than then.
    Ashley Johnston
It really stinks that they are not open for office hours, but the woman I spoke with on the phone was very friendly and helpful. Wish I had caught her name so I could give her credit, but super grateful for her today!

Horrible experience took my mom to the Social Security office today my dad her husband just passed away. My mom has MS . When you're with someone who is handicapped plus much older it is quit different. I sat down in front with my mom who is in a wheelchair the black officer sorry I don't know his name I'm a white female and he is a black officer.Told me I had to move. First place when you check in it should be private location not up front where people enter the door.He told us to move. My mom again who has MS needed something to drink , I went to her car to get her bottled water. The black officer told me she couldn't have anything to drink, I told him about her MS and the water helps cool her down.He said I don't make the rules. We waited for two hours. The two black officers over looked all the black kids with drinks the black babies.Yes I call this reverse discrimination against elderly people plus people with Disabilities. They kept turning the white people away with a drink.I saw youngblack kids with juice bags and cell phones on but they weren't personally told to put away their phones. The lady behind the desk was very kind.I do hope the elderly cop and middle age black cop loose their jobs. Oh yeah the water fountain was not low enough for my mom poor display.

Very polite an on tues after 2pm there was not a long wait at all. I came back on the 8 Mar 18 for more information about my Medicaid. I was treated very kind an MR TERRY DEBOUSE went out his way to explain this program thanks for the help.

Mr. Brown from the Augusta office of Social Security provided clear explanations of benefits and went beyond his duties, in my view, to answer my questions and provide factual information of which I was mistaken or unaware. I thank Mr. Brown for his time and interest in my claim by initiating contact with me. I cannot expect better treatment and service from Mr. Brown, a clearly knowledgeable and dedicated public servant.
