    Per at the time when I went, it was pretty empty and there was security there also. You have to make appointment at this time. Overall at this time it was good, lady got my task done promptly. Even though you still have to wear those dumb masks. Makes no sense, it's been two years and per our awesome governor Desantis, the theater is done, let's go live in freedom. Berri No-ICE.

    Miss Cortes was so rude and condescending. Was not helpful at all and her attitude was unnecessary. I asked for her manager and was denied. I called 2x and was disconnected to begin with just to get an employee who obviously didn't want to help me and didn't want to be at work. She told me her mngr was namedNievesand that there was no call back procedure and then she hung up. I called back spoke with miss Ginger and she was SO HELPFUL SO NICE and was able to realize that the address was mis keyed on YOUR END. She updated my address and fir me a new card out. I've been in CS for 13 years, active listening, patience & understanding BEFORE responding goes a long way! Nobody wants to sit on hold for 20-40 minutes to begin with so finally getting someone and then being rude is DISGUSTING. Shout out to Ginger!!!! Thank you for your help!

    I have just had the best experience ever at the Lakeland Social Security office...all because of the friendliness and helpfulness of Ms. Williams. She was so pleasant and knew so much about my issue. She even gave me information on what to do if or when my issue wasn't resolved. I have never received this level of outstanding service from anyone else...Ms. Williams is the best!!

    I made a call to see why I never received my social security card that i submitted an application to back in AUGUST. The conversation started off very hostile. The agent didnu2019t even give me his name. I just know it was Hispanic male and found out from another agent it could either be Martinez, Shoqaui, Ramos, Cabrera or Hernandez. He was very rude and hostile from the beginning and didnu2019t even give me any answers to any of my questions. He was very condescending, and told me u201cyou canu2019t win this conversationu201d and proceeded to yell and talk over me when I would ask a question. I didnu2019t want to u201cwinu201d anything. I just wanted answers and he was just trying to overpower me the whole time and just hung up on me without answering any of my questions. I donu2019t even get that type of service at a McDonaldu2019s. Never have I ever spoken to such a rude representative in my life. Lakeland office needs to get rid of that employee ASAP because Iu2019m sure Iu2019m not the only one he has done this to.

    Got off the phone with a guy saying to wait for the call to make an appointment 3 months ago so I decided to show up at the office and talked to the security guard and he gave me a number to call to make an appointment which I did and later today I got a call and made an appointment today. DO NOT CALL THEM TO ASK FOR AN APPOINTMENT. DRIVE STRIGHT TO THE OFFICE AND ASK THE SECURITY. THE SECURITY WILL ACTUALLY HELP YOU.

    This is the rudest bunch of staff members I have ever dealt with in my life. They are handling peopleu2019s personal information and have no care in the world. I am trying to get my childrenu2019s names changed due to an adoption. I sent in my paperwork but because I didnu2019t send my actual drivers license and I only sent a copy they told me they sent my paperwork back. I have talked to 4 different people. 2 gave generic answers to the effects of u201cif you dropped it off it was sent back regular mailu201d, one person hung up on me, and the last girl tried to help me. It has been almost 4 weeks and my paperwork has been lost. Someone now has my kids socials, birth certificates, copy of my license, adoption paper work, and school information. All because they have the worst tracking system ever. They have no records to tell me who looked at the paper work or who would have sent it back. Now my personal information is lost and they are basically telling me there is nothing they can do about it. I just have to order originals of everything and try again. If I could give zero stars, I would.

She patiently listened to my situation, directed me to the document I needed, serviced my request once I faxed it, and even followed up days later with a phone call assuring me that I had made the deadline!     Mailed in my marriage license and certificate, along with my drivers license in order to change my last name. I received the marriage documents back in a timely manner, as well as my new social security card, but I never received my drivers license back. I called and they told me that they never received my drivers license. I'm positive I included it in the envelope, and I had even written a letter that listed the documents enclosed in the envelope. They assured me that their process was secure and that they only have on file that the marriage documents were sent to the office. So now I'll have to pay for a replacement license because they lost it and didn't admit to it. If you have the opportunity, wait until after COVID and make an in-person appointment so you have control over what documents they have!

    The level of professionalism from this office deplorable. Never have we been treated so inhumanly. The staff treats people like nuisances.This is bureaucracy at its worst. I asked for how long a Medicare part B application would take to process and was literally told u201cI canu2019t possibly tell you that because I have to handle it firstu201d Iu2019m not sure what that means?     Tried to get my newly adopted son's social security changed over, mailed in everything they asked of me, they denied it and will not send my wife's SS card back. They say i have to fill out a form with her ID, so if we mail that in she is a week without a drivers licence, how is she suppose to drive? They need to open back up to serve the people and get things done!!! If i could give 0 stars i would.nnUpdate: Called back, spoke with Kat and got it all worked out. If you call ask to speak to her, the others don't seem to want to help you at all. So if a supervisor sees this give Kat a raise.

    This place is deplorable. The staff is rude when they are paid by taxpayers to be professional, courteous, and know how to file documentations without losing them. They lose everything. This office is trashy looking. They would have done better putting an outhouse on the property as it reeks of odors, staff is unclean, security guard looks to be drunk every day or on heavy sedations.ud83dude21

    My first time at the SSA office, in Lakeland,Fl. We stood in line for about 30 minutes minute, we were there early, when it began to rain they opened the doors and we were allowed in the lobby. Quickly the workers took our names and we were seated with our caseworkers my concern was answered with kindness and respect. My Journey was quick and all my questions answered fairly and happily by the caseworker. Many people complain about their experience, could it be their own attitude and not the caseworker? Respect to be respected. These people are only doing their jobs, they're not our slaves to scream and yell at!!!!!

    We must send our ACTUAL Drivers License THROUGH THE MAIL (we all know how safe that is...) and hope to get it back (don't forget to send a sase) which they did NOT tell me...If it gets *lost* we have to make an appointment at dmv( that takes about 4 weeks) to get a new DL/ID just to get a duplicate social security card...WOW

    After my family's experience seeing all the reviews citing lost documents and paperwork does not surprise me. In our case this office lost a critical piece of documentation that fundamentally changed a benefits decision against us. Due to Covid if you have to send documents by mail please push for an in person appointment don't give this office the chance to ruin your family's life.

    I was pretty nervous about going to SS office in Lakeland, Fla today. The reviews were less than 3 stars and I was not looking forward to sitting there all day. I was also not a big fan of the comments of it smelling like body odor. Well I arrived at 8:15 am 45 mins before it opened. I was 21 people deep in line. They opened the doors about 10 mins early to take in people that had appts. Then promptly began allowing the rest of us in one at a time very clam and orderly. The Security guard addressed the crowed to explain a few rules and addressed how you would get your number and be called. He did a great job inside and outside the building. Bravo.... Next there were 2 ladies helping people get their numbers and get seated inside. This was very well organized they asked what I was here for so they could get me on the correct list. Everyone was nice and helpful..You can not stand in the walkways (fire code) and the place did not smell bad. The AC was set low the temp was very comfortable. Much different than the reviews from a few years earlier. I was there for a simple name change and was driving way at 9:32am with my name change complete. I can see how this can be a stressful thing for anyone needing to be there. People just chill and relax listen to what they tell you and follow the rules.

    I was there and the whole place stunk so bad! I waited there past 2 hrs of my appointment time. I had to go to work, and when I finally said something they claimed my name didn't show up on the board. I checked in EXACTLY how the security officer told me. oh and speaking of him, he was a total douche. treated me like trash little does he know, without clients, he doesn't have a job. rude people. someone just called from that office PAST their closing time in regards to my son and I cant even get through them.     When I went inside I only waited about 45 minutes to be seen and I thought I got what I needed handled so I left a happy camper.nnI went in because my mother died and to get my sisters benefits (because sheu2019s a minor) form of deposit changed to my bank account.nnMy mother died in September and we are two weeks away from November and I have yet to receive anything. I went to the office October 4, they send a letter October 12 with my deceased motheru2019s name still as the parent instead of mine.nnIu2019m guessing the lady didnu2019t do something properly but I cannot even call and ask because it always says there are too many callers, try again later.nnItu2019s also impossible for me to keep going into the office for their mistakes. I work during the Social securityu2019s business hours and have already taken a half day once, so this is frustrating!

    Tried to call about if my SS# had been compromised. Had to listen to 10 min useless infomercial before being told it was a 45 minute wait to speak to someone. No option to leave a call back #. Their communication system is obviously designed not to provide assistance, but to make you give up and go away.

    I have been dealing with this office since March 2018, I have not always had the best results, from my point of view. Today all was made right!! I'm sorry for all of the people who have had a bad experience!!nFor the general population at the Lakeland office, hang in there.. Ms. Kat in that office was beyond caring, educated, and extremely helpful to my case.     Arrived shortly after 9 and was in and out in about 45 minutes. The agents were polite, helpful, friendly and answered any questions that were posed. I recommend you have all the paperwork you need for your specific transaction ready (document requirements listed on SS website) and get there early as I understand appointments are no longer available.

    Wait time wasn't bad, oh just a minute, that was the first time they called our number. Went to window told them we just need to leave proofs (birth certificate and ID)they told us to have a seat and they would call by name. Seriously, two hours and we are still waiting for them to call our friends name. This is awful.
