I have gone to this office about 4 times and every time I was provided outstanding service by the representatives. They were ALL extremely professional and helpful and provided documents to assist me to make informed decisions regarding when and how to apply for social security. Additionally, the wait time was only shout 20 minutes.

They don't pick up the phone. If you show up the security guard tells you over and over again to call the number, we've been calling it for a month and they don't pick up, we even called the number right in front of him, they didn't pick up, surprise-surprise. Amazing seeing our tax dollars at work

Iu2019ve been trying to get my childu2019s name changed. The first time I was missing documents do they called me 14 days later and had me come in. They refused my documents I brought in snd told me to resubmit them. I submitted them again and waited the 14 days. Not a word. I called several times only to get disconnected or they would answered and Iu2019d get totalnSilence. A month later I finally got a hold of them after spending an hour getting disconnected or the silent treatment. The person who answered was incredibly rude to me. Stated I was missing documents. So instead of contacting me regarding that issue, I had to contact them. Now I faxed everything over again (3rd time) and again will be forced to wait for another 14 days. This field office is a joke.

This place is an illegal amount of bad. Blanca literally never picks up the phone and never calls people back. Id have a better time getting a meeting with the president than seeing literally anyone in that building. Straight trash.

Worst phone service ever!!!!!!! Been calling for two days in a row on my work lunch and different times just to get hung up on !!!!!!!They should consider hiring professional or just open your office so we can walk in and avoid spending days trying to get connected to someoneu2026.

If I could send a negative start I would. This office is extremely rude.Been fighting with them for 6 months now to just get my names changed and they are taking there time. They are only allowing appointments for new time social security number s but not those who have been trying to change their name for whatever reason. Need better people to work here. Maybe someone who is helping and nice!

Ive been on hold for 58 minutes and they wont change my name because they want me to send my actual real ID in the mail. Its illegal to drive without an id on your person.

It's not too crowded for a government office. Security guards are quite nice yet stern enough to enforce the rules. The wait can take a little longer especially if you don't have an appointment. You also have to pay attention to what your queue ticket says for instructions.

On August 27, 2018 I had made an appointment by phone 2 months prior to the appointment so I wouldn't have to wait too long at the Social Security office. I went through the line and when I got to the window the clerk checked me in and told me to have a seat and wait and listen for my name to be called. I waited for 2 hours and I finally went up to one of the windows and I told the clerk that I had been waiting for 2 hours..ALSO one of the security officers there was VERY RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, which in my opinion could cause violence if he treats the public that way all the time!!! He was not helpful at all, especially when it's your first time at a Social Security office. All I wanted was to ask some questions about retirement!

I went to the Social Security Office this morning to do a name change, I expected to be there for awhile. I ended up only being there for about 30 minutes, and the line was already long when I arrived. I got there at about 8:45 and was out the door by 9:15. The gentleman who did the name change was very friendly. Kudos Stockton Office!

If there was a negative star to give me would. Would like to let people know the head person and workers discriminate and deprive u of u writes when u ask to speak to supervisor. Me suffer from terminal illness and them first tell me the worker input wrong and do not know how to fix . Then go back and every time different story blame payment center . So me ask can u call payment center then tell me no. Real funny that call center was able to contact payment center manager but the field office can't really lie. Now me getting evicted because could no pay rent but that not office problem them get paycheck . Me work all me life me no ask to be sick but it happen now what is ur write to have this benefit them mess up so bad causes in needed stress in me life .can't believe person in charge tell me him have no boss but Michael u do have boss and u people deny me of me writes.causing me mental stress that makes me medical condition worse . Thank u for the extra trip to hospital .u have denied me of me writes have caused unnecessary stress in me life.

This is the most unprofessional social security building I have ever been to. For one the security tells you to get a number (nothing else) Okay we get a number and you think its normal like any other place so you sit down. We see a long line in between numbers 1 and 2. On the tv screen it is showing numbers going there so we think thats why its a line because they're calling mutiple numbers at once. We get in line just for the hell of it to see why our number is not getting called, by the time we get to the front we tell the lady we just sat here for an hour waiting to be called she saysyou dont see people lining upObviosly we see people lining up but we were thinking they had numbers to line up, then she cuts me off. If this was the social security in Lodi, you get a number and you get called there's never a long wait when I go we are in and out, also it is clean at the one in Lodi and their security pay attention and know what is going on. There is only two people with their windows open others are sitting at the window playing on their computer, I don't get this.

Called on 12/26&12/27 to work out an issue with Social Security & we succeeded. One item remained to be resolved and so I called 1/2 to do so - after waiting 30 minutes I was disconnected. Called again 1/3 and got through to a JERK - a complete jerk. To this individual we say: Listen buddy...it's 2018 - clean up your act & be professional, there are others in your office who are setting a wonderful example of how this is done. To his boss we say: Fire him...you where looking when you found him, if I'm calling customer service the general job description is to be professional, courteous and result oriented. This guy failed on every front. And for the record ....our one simple outstanding issue - remains unresolved.

So America is opening up but the Social Security Offices remain closed? Restaurants, cafes, stores, and the rest of America is open but federal workers canu2019t come to work?
    G.S. Khalsa
I've always had excellent service at every SSA office I've ever been to, although I had to wait 56 minutes to reach the front of the line last time. It could help reduce wait times if they'd just open up earlier and stay open 'til 6...
