Like many folks, I had to put a lot of things on hold because of the Pandemic. Despite calling the SS National number and not getting any help, I finally waited until the SS offices reopened in San Diego. Although I was hesitant to go because of the bad reputation, I was incredibly pleased and impressed with my experience. The entire staff, from guards to representatives were incredibly polite, understanding and efficient. I went in with no appointment and waited a little over an hour. Once I got to the window, I was out the door within 5 minutes. Highly recommend. All the employees are bilingual and speak Spanish. If that is something that is important to you, I would highly recommend this South Bay, Chula Vista location.

I called multiple times yesterday, 2/28 was on the line for 4 hours just to get through, finally i got through and line was dropped... i cried out of frustration...ntoday, 3/1 was a different day.. Melissa Gomez was GODSEND, the best customer skills, patient, understanding with my frustration, worked with my application transferred from Richmond ( sent online app since December 2021) worked diligently with my application while being on hold. Repeated her responses patiently to my concerns since our phone lines were not very good. Melissa is a ROLE Model, excellent customer service skills. Blessings will come your way. , I believe it!!

After several calls, a woman answered us, super rude, we just wanted an appointment for a procedure for my daughter for her social. She just hung up on us telling us to go downtown, we called again and nothing! awful care

Went this morning to get my 10 month oldu2019s gender corrected. I had the old birth certificate, the new birth certificate, the hospital verification paperwork, the hospital amended paperwork, the social security card with application as they asked me to have when I spoke to them when making the appt and he STILL wanted another form of identification like a passport or insurance card. The person I spoke to on the phone said having both birth certificates was good to have as forms of identity. I had to take off of work for my appt, i donu2019t have time to keep going back and forth. I made the appt with the records stated and then he put on the refusal that I didnu2019t have the documents required when i had so many. When i asked him for the number so I can make a complaint he gave me the wrong number.

I was applying for a name change on a social security card w an original document court decree. My application was rejected 3x for...not including an original document.I came to understand that the rejection must have been occurring because the processors were failing to find the offical seal/stamp on the flip side of the decree; it appears that further training for attention to detail is required. I made an appointment, went in, pointed out that the seal was on the reverse side of the decree, and my application was approved in <5mins.

not one person that works here has any clue what they are doing !! they have messed up my case over 10 times telling me that I owe them money when they are the ones that owe me back pay. Each case worker tells you different things about your case they have no idea what they are doing.

Was on hold for approximately 45 minutes to ask for help making an simple appointment and asking for information. The gentleman who answered the phone was EXTREMELY condescending and rude for no reason.

This is the 3rd call today and a few days ago it was the same. I have been dropped and have water over 1/2 hour every time to talk to no one. I understand the office gets busy but for real!

No one picks up the phone. Systems says by appointment only. Main number also takes for ever and they donu2019t give appointments to local offices, this is a merry go round of inefficiency

To say these representatives are rude would be a huge understatement. Canu2019t answer a simple question without the worst attitude. If you hate your job, find a new one.

I called to find out how to update my social security card and the lady that answered was super helpful. I wish I got her name, so I could commend her on her positive attitude.

I arrived at 9:02am assuming, wrongly, that there would be a parking spot. Nothing. I parked at the gas station hoping I would not be there too long. Ha!nEntered a room full of approximately 50 people already seated and waiting. That is when I realized I should have made an appointment. (I am just a bit slow.) Where did these people park??? There are not 50 spaces!nSo I call on my cell to make said appointment. I am informed I will have to wait 1 hour 15 minutes to speak to someone regarding applying for benefits.nDisgusted. Typical of our top heavy government.nI tried to apply online but the brilliant website claims I donu2019t know the answers to my own identity questions.nOne star.

I have been to this location multiple times as it's the closest to my house.nnFinding a parking at this location is easy as they have a lot of parking spots.nnOne of my favorite reasons to come to this location is that they have a little coffee area outside of the front doors to the left. The lady there makes fresh coffee and snacks which is great when the Social Security Admin. has a little wait for your number to get called.nnThe employees, manager, and security guard are very helpful and friendly (which is usually hard to say for government employees).nnI will definitely be coming back to this place in the near future.nnThank you.

As of March 4, 2021, this office is closed and customers are directed to conduct their business online or via telephone.nHowever you won't find that out until you've driven all the way there in the pouring rain and find yourself locked out without prior notice.nAnd that's why this place gets three stars.

Office review ( Not S.S. Administration)nTheir Customer Service is GREAT!.nThe security officer at the door is very friendly and he was 100% alert on everybody. He help me and 6 other citizens guiding us on how the office works and waiting times. Having a person who likes his job is the best.

I wanted to set up an appointment for a social security card replacement but the man who answered the phone consistently cut me off mid sentence and was mocking me.
    Georgie
With everything that's going on I understand that they could be closed one thing they could have done is update their times or let people know that they are closed, so that people are not wasting time driving to find out at the door at their closed. I was not the only person to arrive and become annoyed. Idk who runs it. Not everyone was laid off or furloughed, someone could have updated this.
