Applied for SSA online since local office is officially closed after 5 weeks of hearing nothing I contacted Prescott office.nWhat a pleasant experience. Yes the wait time for someone is long but weu2019ll worth the wait.nHe was fantastic. Looked up my file and there were some questions to be answered but he was going to transfer my file to his desk so it can be completed as soon possible.

I'm trying to get off disability and cannot get an appointment. Have been trying to reach the national and local line since November 15th. I went in person to the Prescott office only to be yelled at and disrespected the moment I walked in by a clearly unstable, angry security guard, officer Campbell. This man is very aggressive and in the wrong line of work. I am literally 5 ft tall and a very nice person. For my own safety I will not return. When I arrived there was only one person in the office and when that person left they still would not see me. Even though I was the only person there.

We went on a Tuesday morning at 11:45 and our wait was about 2 minutes after we checked in. The gentleman that helped us was extremely knowledgeable and thorough as well as easy to understand. His name is James and he was awesome. We were out of there in five minutes. Very positive experience!

When you call you get a recording saying someone will be with you. After about 20 minutes, the recording says they are busy and to call back another time.nnAt least when you call the IRS, they tell you they are busy upfront instead of putting you on hold for 20 minutes first.nnA new low in government service.

Non of the phone numbers work. You can't call in and get an appointment and you can't walk in to get one either. It's been 5 weeks and can't get a single contact with anyone from this office.nThis office can't get it's paperwork right so it screws people over and then they just make it impossible for you to do anything at all

This is the MOST frustrating experience I've ever had. I've tried to reach my local office in Prescott to make an appointment for weeks. I call every day, and I hold for hours, only to be told to call back another time. I will now call my state senator's office to see if they can get through. What a complete joke. They should just close the office if they can't serve anyone. Awful!!!

WORST customer service ever and I have been working with social security offices for more than 20 years on behalf of permanent foster placements. I am accustomed to the top secret extensions, the long hold times, the long waits in the office even if you have an appointment, and have a ridiculous amount of patience when it comes to government bureaucracy but this takes the cake. Because we were never given a card when the I have tried every possible way I can to acquire a replacement social security card, the website, the national line, hours on this line on hold, only to be told my niece has to personally request the appointment. This child is in school and cannot spend hours on hold during the day. There are no in person drop in times. If you are not going to provide service just close the office. If I could give a negative star review I would.

All the times I was calling them about replacing my SSN card, they were very nice, gave details information, sent back my passport the next day, and processed my replacement card really really fast. Very impressed ud83dudc4f. Thank you very much ud83dude00. This was in June 2021.nnBtw, I had to call SSA office in Phoenix to get direct phone number in Prescott SSA office. The phone number listed on google wasn't working at that time.

Unfortunately I cannot give any less than a single star or I would. I have been out of work for over a month now due to a work related injury. I filed an online application AND sent in a paper application with all necessary documentation over month ago. No progress has been made and every time I call, the line goes silent after it says it is connecting me to an agent and then it hangs up. I also tried calling the 1-800 number on SSA.GOV, it does the same thing. I emailed and was told to contact an office. The phone system does not work. How am I supposed to get information on my claim? The local office is also closed to appointments only, which I cannot get in contact with to make an appointment. For a government agency this is unacceptable.

Voice mail is a train wreck. One message says Please hold for the next agent. Then it goes into another message which is cut off. Then it says all agents are busy. Good By.nnWill someone down there please fix your Voice Mail tree so we can at least be put on hold until someone answers.nnIt never should hang up on a customer.

This office has the most caring, understanding and helpful personnel of any SSA office Iu2019ve ever dealt with. They went above and beyond to help me, they were responsive and always got back to me as promised. Great teamwork and outstanding customer service. This office deserves an award for customer service and the highest recognition for their staff.
    Susan Wood
This office has the worst customer service ever! They hang up on you in person and the voice recording tells you that they are busy, call back later then hangs up on you! This is most unprofessional. Certainly they can do much better!

If I could give 0 stars I would. They never sent my newborn son's SS card. They did this with our second daughter too! We only got one for our oldest when she was born! WHAT. AN. UNBELIEVABLE. PAIN. (NOT because of the new baby name needed to be in our mailbox, nice try blaming USPS; USPS gives us all kinds of unwanted mail with the old owners' names on mail and delivers our business mail fine without the name on there). So it's March 2021 and they are totally CLOSED like it's 11 months ago shelter in place right when covid hit and can't possibly provide appointments in person so I have to mail in a bunch of stuff, most of it is fine EXCEPT they say I have to mail in my ***actual DRIVER'S LICENSE***. NOT A COPY. I NEED THAT TO DRIVE.Don't worry, you can provide a military ID (nope), passport (nope), or state ID (nope) as an alternative, says the SS rep. Because everyone has a copy of each of those of course. WHAT PLANET DOES THIS HORRIBLE AGENCY OPERATE ON BECAUSE THIS ISN'T HOW THE REST OF THE BUSINESSES IN THE COUNTRY OPERATE AND IT IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!

I work at a bank. We sit with clients and help them call SS to update their direct deposit info. This office is 9/10 times rude, rushes you, hangs up on you while you're talking, and generally treats you like you're a burden to them by asking them to do their job. I'm a pretty chill person, so I don't mind mediocre customer service, but mediocre would be a vast improvement over the way this office treats the general public.

I was impressed with my recent visit. Needed a new SS card. Security was tight, I appreciate that. Easy to sign in kiosk. Wait wasn't so bad. Friendly staff helped me get the job done super fast once my name was called. Got my card in the mail in like a week.

Worst experience of my life. Now days in order to have a government job the requirement should be at a minimum a Bachelors or a Masters degree. The folks here are completely incompetent or lack training. For example, I recently became a U.S citizen and I went in to update my information and get a new social security card reflecting my citizenship. They literally send me the wrong social security card which reflected my residency and not my citizenship three times. This means I had to visit this office three times and spend over 6 hours resolving this matter. I hope they send me the proper documentations this time and hire more competent employees or provide the proper training, therefore someone does not have to visit their office a total of three times to get something right. At times I do not even feel upset at the situation I feel sad at the lack of brain power to conduct a task right once. Please someone help this office out either hire employees who have a higher level of thinking or do the proper training so people do not have waste their time in trying to get something correct several times.

U might have to wait awhile. But for a walk in office I thought the waiting time was very reasonable. I've waited longer in a doctor's office with an appointment! The staff is knowledgeable and friendly.
    Diane Carr
can't even get to a Service agent - every time I call I get a recording all agents are busy...have tried multiple times on different a=days and different times.
    Seth Hinesley
Terrible customer service, associates never answer the phone.
    Kasey Kelley
I got here about 7:30 and waited for them to open there was about 10 other people there after i got there. I would say that it was very fast and the case worker knows what she was doing. It cold just be me but it was way better then waiting in phoenix for over 2 hrs just to get someone.

The representatives here are always congenial, helpful, as well as cordial.nI know that sometimes having to take a trip to a governmental office can be tedious and distasteful, although the staff here is very pleasant, making one smile when walking out, as well as walking back in, if the need arises.
    Blair _Playz
Small office but great system of Team Work and Customer Service! They keep things moving, getting you in and out as quickly as possible.
    John Stephenson
As of 4/28/21, the office isclosed due to safety issues(COVID). It would be so helpful if that was posted on the website, or at least ON THE FRONT DOOR!
    Chuck Hartrick
I had an appointment and after a reasonable wait, was called to a window. The gentleman that assisted me was top notch. Things could not have gone more smoothly. Totally pleased.
