From the minute I called in to the moment I sat in front of the agent that assisted me, my experience with this office was out of this world. I also want to give a special shout-out to mr Lyon, heu2019s the best.

I have the phone service with them. It took me about 20 mins to speak with the agent; I met Ms. Venessa K. Times, she was so nice and helped me a lot. English is not my first language, so that is why I have a lot of trouble speaking with her. But she was so great; she was trying to help me a lot. Not like other agent, when they can not hear me clearly they hang up the phone.

Wait time is 1hr+ on the phone. Iu2019ve been trying to get my social security card for a little over a year and have lost countless documents, time, and applications. Iu2019m just trying to join the military bro. Montgomery branch ud83dudc4eud83cudffb

I don't speak or write English very well but, the bad times are over. I got my documents from the drop box. I also want to thank the agent who assisted us from the automatic doors. He really knows the procedures and what to do.

You would think dealing with the government they would work faster. We need faster people, the people they have working here is fat, lazy, slow and always late.... GET FASTER PEOPLE

They never answer the phone and never get a call back, they are pointless. Wish I can give less than 1 star.

Due to Covid it was recommended to call for an appointment. I've been on hold for 20 minutes, the phone beeped and the line was dead. I called back and have been on hold for 30 minutes. The line just beeped and there's no response yet. This is our government at work!

I had read the comments which were very negative but I had to call. I was on hold about 15 minutes and the lady was very curtest and promptly did an amazing job. Best experience Iu2019ve ever had had with social security.

Mrs. Brooks is truly the epitome of professionalism and her expertise and knowledge is truly unmatched. Our family had a great informative and engaging meeting with her. Great job.

If you haven't been to the Social Security Office yet! Except to be there a long time. Pack a lunch! The wait doesn't bother me much because I plan my day with the notion that there will always be alot of people conducting business at the Social Security Office. They are always packed even on their short day. I have always experienced excellent service from all of the workers I have ever encountered. They have been friendly, professional, knowledgeable, caring and helpful, every single person I have ever encountered. The security guard can really agitate people but I guess they're just trying to do their jobsud83eudd37ud83cudffdu200du2640ufe0f . They need to pay close attention to how they enforce the rules. When they make people upset. It makes it hard on the Social Security staff. So thats something they may want to work on as a team. I've personally never had any kind of problem or ill feeling about the Security Guards but others have.

I really dont understand how EVERYTHING ELSE has opened up but the social security office! They could have put safety requirements in place and opened up. Why do they think people are okay with sending their original identification in to a place that's known to lose paperwork!!!
    Kathy Griffin
I went to the office expecting to have to wait so my wait time didn't bother me. The workers, except for the rent-a-cop, were all very professional & polite. The rent-a-cop, during my visit, was a tall, middle-aged white guy that was a total jerk to everyone...he seems to enjoy being rude. My only other complaint is that, if you have to bring your children, please control their behavior. My parents managed to control mine, I controlled my own children & I expect others to do the same.

Well, I gotta say, just like anything in life- your experience will be what you make it. Be patient. Plan ahead. Come prepared. This office deals with hundreds of customers daily, so expect a wait. Donu2019t get mad when you get in there, and thereu2019s 30 ahead of you. Anticipating this will hopefully set your mind to be in better spirits to wait with the rest of us.nHave some empathy for the clerks people. No doubt they get dumped on by EVERY single person that walks up to their window. Customers whou2019ve waited and are tired, hungry, in pain, running late, impatient, frustrated... imagine being in their position before you walk up to the window. Be kind to them, and theyu2019ll be good to you.nAll of these piffy comments, judgmental jerks stereotyping all visitors as u201cwaiting for a hand outu201d,... well- not surprised their experiences were unpleasant. Just sayin.

They are so so rude, unprofessional, and extremely loud. Ms Cole been on the phone twice with me already, and every single time she just talk over me when Iu2019m trying to answer her questions. The Montgomery Social Security Office needs some work.
    Dale H
Wow! Typical government agency customer service. Slow and rude. And the security guard treats folks as it they are ignorant. No signs to assist and 30 service windows that should be manned. This is a two story building with probably over 100 employees which I would bet most are probably surfing the internet. And how hard is it to control your kids so they don't run all over the place being loud.
    Shawna
So incredibly frustrating! Only need a SSN for my baby because I still havenu2019t received it after filling out the paperwork in the hospital months ago. After waiting an hour, they couldnu2019t help me, and you cannot make an appointment, fill out paperwork online or via mail for this request.
    Kristine Jones
Wonderful experience. The security officer was friendly, the person who checked us in was very nice, and the woman who helped answer our questions was amazing. She was thorough, kind, and exceptionally competent. It was the best experience I've ever had at a government office.
    Dorisetta Moore
My experience today was pitful it brought shame to me as a Government worker myself. Yesterday I went in to get a replacement card with my son we had the wrong documents. My son's wallet was stolen do we are trying to get replacements. WRONG catching pure hell with SS office. Yesterday the man at the intake office and the 1800 number told me that I could use Medical Documents. I go get those this is also listed on the website. Today I go in and the intake man tells me,oh no my people told you wrong we cannot use this. I told him my situation and he told me to take my documents to the probate office and get an ID. To make long story short Social Security is giving out different information concerning medical documents either you take medical documents or not if you take certain ones specify. Because leaving it up to Intake window you get confusing information. To be born in the USA it sure is hell getting a Social Security Card but someone sure can steal your identity boy I bet getting that Straight with these people will drive you crazy. Pitful

Worker was late calling me. I got upset w her. While on phone w bank getting intro she State I need to get off the phone. She could've waited n got route # no later her attitude was very uncomfortable. I was nervous not a good experience. I walked out will ask to see some one else
    LeeAnna Simmons
Workers are insensitive they will talk over you and cut you off as if you're nothing!!!! They need to know and understand they can be replaced also!!!!! I can't believe they have people like that working with people with disabilities and so forth to only be discriminated against and torn down. SAD SAD SAD
    Amy Kaplan
I waited on hold for 30 minutes only to be pushed through to a line that doesnu2019t allow you the option to continue holdingu2026.I just have a simple 20 second question!
    Courtney Edwards
All I see is people complaining about others peoples kids and them running and being loud. You have to be one hell of a grouch to complain that children wont sit still and be quiet for such long wait periods that happen at the SSA. Children are wired to play it is not there intent to bother you however to expect a child to sit still especially young kids is ridiculous and to parent shame is bad on you. You don't know people's story , you don't know what is going on with them and honestly if you can keep your toddlers calm and quiet that long kudos to you. But all kids are different and if they are not physically accosting you get over yourself.
    Tim Thornell
When you walk through the doors there is a sign that points to the left and ask you to sign in at window 2 (or something) wellllllll, don't go left or else you will be sitting for an additional hour for no reason. The check in window will be straight in, across the sitting area. Don't waist your time asking the security guard anything unless you plan to ruin your mood for the rest of the day, HE IS A JERK AND I TOLD HIM SO. The check in window personnel was the friendliest but after that prepare to sit for awhile. My advice is to rub some VICK'S under your nose before going in. It seems the two times I've been in there are some visitors that come in that forget to shower and they can surely stink up the room. Sitting with that smell can certainly make for a long wait and your wait will most definitely be long. My advice to visitors is to make an appointment before going. My advice to SSI is to fire that JERK you call a gaurd and hire someone that's at least helpful and has the personality of at least a dead skunk in the middle of the road. I'm having to go back in this morning and I'll be certain to avoid this badged employee if at all possible. I pray this visit goes smoother than my past 2 and I'll pray yours does as well.

I canu2019t belive they expected that I send my original documents to them. Some documents their requesting cost over $500 dollars to replace.

If you come early and their lobby is open, it doesn't matter if its cold or not they make stand outside in the cold or rain instead of in the lobby until the doors are open......nI don't like that at all period! People are old, people have disabilities and making people stand outside in all weather conditions is cruel!
    Tyreese Edwards
I HAVE NEVER HAD A GOOD EXPERIENCE THERE! THEY TAKE ALL DAY LONG! ALL OF THE WINDOWS ARE NEVER OPEN AND THE SECURITY GUARD IS VERY RUDE NOT TO MENTION #CERTAIN MEMBERS OF THE STAFF! LONG STORY SHORT IF YOU NEED TO GO BE PREPARED TO SIT ALL DAY LONG! NOT TO MENTION YOU CAN NEVER GET THROUGH THE PHONE LINES. SMH. THERE HAS GOT TO BE SOMETHING THEY CAN DO TO MAKE IT RUN BETTER
    nita easterling
I had mrs poole to yell at me and say she couldn't help me but i did find one guy there who did so kudos to you it took a few mnths though
    Eddie Edwards
Do not go here if you have a job. Customer service is the worst and the clientele are all waiting for their handout along with their brood. If that isnt bad enough, the rent a cop treats patrons like inmates. Go to another office in a non janky town
    MoRella Du2019Ville
Hated the machines that never forwarded me to a PHYSICAL PERSON. Trash. Try again and never leave your social security cards with your parents. I didnu2019t get to ask how much is a replacement or anything.
