    Poor response on phone calls over 25 minutes no one picked up. Called Greensboro Office several days only to find out from Winston-Salem office that they were experiencing phone issues. Then called this morning to Greensboro again no one picked up.I know we been in a pandemic but these offices can alternate days in the office with their workers to come to work. I am an essential worker so I do understand.

    I've been trying to apply for my Social Security since August 2021, online and by telephone. I turned 62 on October 19, 2021. After many attempts through both ways, I finally got to speak to someone over the phone today 3/3/22 @9:36am. The young man was not friendly. He showed no respect and refused to listen to me. I was not loud(my coworkers can witness to that)nI did not curse or use any bad language. I was just trying to explain my situation and he said I wasn't listening so I told him he wasn't listening to me. He then proceeded to hang up. This person shouldn't be working for this company if he doesn't have the interest in the concerns of the people. All I wanted was some assistance not someone who is there for only the money . Please hire some people with a Godly Heart.

    Got my new card but they misspelled my maiden name which was my last and is now my middle. Iu2019ve been on phone for my entire lunch period and no one ever answers for 4 days. Today it just rings for twenty and then hangs up. I hope the folks working from home are enjoying their vacation. They sure as Hell aren't working anymore.

    My wife and I have been trying to contact the social security administration located in Greensboro. For months, we have sat on the line and never actually had anyone answer. But, today we did have a man answer, he would not identify himself, he was rude, he cussed, and when asked to speak to his supervisor he said no and hung up. We are just trying to get our son who we adopted August 2021s death benefits changed over so he has his money~ this such a terrible person we encountered. What in the world is going on with the SS office? We believe the news should know how we are being treated. Anyone with advice please help.

    My gf has multiple times tried to get her disability funds started since issues with family. The agents except two have been unreasonable and as well talk down to her everytime. So we went in person another office said since we moved to the area we'd have to. Only open by appointment saving grace was the older security guard who was nice to us. We will get an appointment if that's even possible. Since she calls and wait almost an hour to just to talk to and agent. Who half the time rushes and talks bad to her. She is autistic and gets upset because of it. This is horrible, and under no circumstances is this acceptable behavior from people who are supposed to help. Especially when they see in her file that she is AUTISTIC. So yeah only two agents and the one security guard are nice and reasonable. The rest should be fired immediately.nnUpdate. So my gf had an appointment made for a payee. Called today. Once again this office said they would call at 11am. 11am rolls around no calls nothing her and the prospective payee call. Once again this office says.OH we don't have any appointment scheduled for you.What is wrong with you people. If you say you are gonna put in an appointment do it. This was two months ago for today.

    This is a horrible phone service. I have been on hold over 30 minutes several times and been disconnected. How do I obtain services when I can't even talk with someone. This is a real dis service to the people you are supposed to serve. I intend to find some avenue to at least talk with someone or report this to the better business services or newpaper or who ever I can find. This is so unfair. Maybe consumers should get together and sue you.

    What are they really doing in this Greensboro office?! This place needs to be looked into by the higher ups. Iu2019ve been going through the same process since last year & not getting any help to move forward over the phone. After dealing with long wait times and rude phone service now they donu2019t answer the phone. There are no walk ins and phone service only!

    I have been trying to secure a copy of the 1099 form for a young lady who lived in Greensboro and since moved to New .York state. I have sent letters with documentations as I am still her legal guardian requesting a copy of the 1099 form. This has gone on for five weeks. Monday I called at 4:15 pm and spoke with a man who was condescending, rude, impatient, and when I asked for his name, he hung up on me !!! .I will not tolerate this kind of behavior from any one !!!

    I have been trying to call this office and the one in Winston Salem for WEEKS, the past 2 days alone I have called 6 times only to be put on hold for 20 minutes then hung up on??? I need my social security card so I can exist?? And it says they only have phone service right now so this is my only option? Iu2019m currently on the phone as Iu2019m typing this and itu2019s been 25 minutesu2026 and still nobody has picked up

    Since Covid this place has gone down hill.nI'm a victim of identity theft and the only way I can get my name changed is through mail or to drop it off at the dropbox and have them mail it back to me?!nnI'm not sure if anyone has noticed, but the form to change your name has atleast 3 peoples information! Full name, social security numbers, the whole nine! Plus, you have to send your license and other information with it!nnWith someone, such as myself, and I'm sure others have been through identity theft. I DONT feel comfortable sending all my information, plus my parents information through the mail!     Case worker (Thompson) Never answers phone or returns phone calls. During initial interview I told her repeatedly that she had information wrong and she ignored me. When I received my copy of interview to check for inaccuracies which were many. Since then she no longer will communicate with me to fix HER errors and now has got my roommate in trouble and has caused her to lose her food stamps and that has cost me getting kicked out of my place to live

    Iu2019ve been trying to contact someone since September when I got married. I kept getting hung up on by the teleprompter. Finally a week ago I got a hold of someone and she said I just need the application and marriage certificate. Thatu2019s all. I called to see what the update is for when I get my new SS back and they lost my marriage certificate on top of them saying I needed to mail my drivers license in and it had to be original. I asked them how they expect me to drive if they have my license?!! I told them the other woman told me I didnu2019t need to mail it. So now I have to buy another certified marriage certificate , I think itu2019s 60, and then remail it in. This is insanity. Winston location was also even more impossible to get a hold of so that is why I sent it to Greensboro since someone answered the phone

    Iu2019m desperate to get a hold of them but it just wonu2019t work. 20 minutes on hold and then the hold music stops, thereu2019s silence for about a minute, and then it hangs up. Or I call and immediately get User Busy. Or I call and am on hold and exactly 8 minutes into the call the hold music stops and thereu2019s silence until you hang up.     New immigrants, my wife is after the entry into the United States has been waiting for SSA automatically distribute the social security number, but obviously they didn't work, I tried to call SSA, they told me need to be in the local office for an interview to apply for, I hope to call the Greensboro office phone, two hours, yes, you heard me, two hours went unanswered, I don't see any point in them setting up this reservation number.

    I have tried to contact the Greensboro office three times. I have been hung up on once by the teleprompter and then the second time I believe someone picked up but laid the phone down and never responded. I am now on the phone for the third time. Now how are we protecting the public by closing our government buildings but opening our schools? Our government is only taking care of itself. The public needs to wake up and start addressing these matters. Remember, the government was put in place to serve us, not them.

    I've called this office many times. I have a question that will take an instant to answer, and cant be found online. Ive waited 35 minutes each time I call, and then the teleprompter says it cant complete my call. This is so frustrating for people who just want service.

    This place is sorry as hell. Now Noone is available to answer the phone. There isn't even an option to talk with a agent!!! I've been calling for 3wks straight, plus I've been trying to report important changes for almost 2yrs and I've gotten no phone call back from my worker or her supervisor!!! This place needs to be investigated!!

    They wonu2019t pick up the phone and there are multiple people standing outside the door waiting. Nobody is willing to come out and at least answer questions OR answer the phone. The security guard I spoke to last time outside told me to come back at 3 and bring my request to change my name and i could drop it off. A lady answered the phone after 20 minutes and she was pretty rude about it. Security guard opens the door right at 3 for you to use Dropbox.

    My dad is a limited English speaker and definitely needs assistance when applying for social security benefits. Pre covid he would have just waited in line at the office. Since Covid started everything is online. Some people my dads age do not use the internet well. Does anyone understand this? Alot of limited English speakers cannot successfully apply for things online without the help of a translator and someone that is decent using a computer. I helped my dad with applying online so at least we can get the process started. I wish there was more accommodation as this process has been extremely difficult. I guarantee you many of the limited English speakers that have worked for many years want to retire and are going through the same exact difficulties. In the beginning we were able to speak to one friendly rep who inform us to submit a couple forms physically to the Greensboro office. My dad has given me permission to speak on his behalf as we told the original rep. They should have notated that somewhere in their notes. The docs were submitted and good to go. Jackie Beasy left us a voicemail telling us we are good with the identification verification process. We are now looking for an update on his application. As a limited English speaker in my fathers age group , it will be extremely challenging to navigate to speaking to a rep when calling the hotline. My dad is from Laos. Itu2019s already a hard time finding a translator in many settings. We already try to do our best with the limited resources we have and with the combination of calling a hotline+applying online+unable to get any updates= it is getting tiring and feeling hopeless.The call center reps cannot help and are not always the friendliest. They are only doing their job but have never had any luck with giving us any updates. They direct me to the person handling my fathers case Jackie Beasy. I leave her voicemails and call her dozens of times for months and she never ever returns my calls. I canu2019t even find a contact for the office manager. Itu2019s been months and I just want to make sure my dad gets his benefits when the time comes. He is wanting to retire in December. He moved here as a refugee from Laos and worked tirelessly 6 days a week for many years to raise 3 children and rebuild a life in this beautiful country. We are extremely proud of him and all he has done for us. I just hope this reaches the right people and God as we have had zero luck with getting anywhere.

    I donu2019t know why I give it 1 stars it should be zero stars, called to request if I can setup an appointment but he said since Covid only offer through phone call but he hang off the phone. Call second time, I just asking question not even finish talking and he hang off again. Being costumer service is important to listen what costumer is about to ask!! This man pick up the phone twice and if I ever call again, I will turn it off if I heard his rude voice. Hope he know he is there to do his job not just getting paid.     Its horrible. My son just got approved after a waiting a whole year for a response. Now that he is approved. I cant get a hold of anyone in the office. Supervisors are always too busy to talk to u or even call u back. I left plenty of messeges for my sons case worker. When i asked her for a phone Number so we would be able to communicate. She gave me the wrong number. When i finally got the right number (from a another ssa building) she will not return any of my calls or respond to any messeges. No help, no feed back. Would do it in person but the building is closed for appointment only and they wont give me an appointment. Im willing to go in and speak to someone even if it means i have to deal with their abusive security guard. When i call i get told the waiting time will be 15 minutes. Only to wait 25 minutes and get hung up on multiple times

    Like a few others I mailed my application in and tracked it. It was received on Nov. 27th, and I haven't heard anything since. I tried calling, but of course NO ONE answers, or I get pur on hold for OVER 30 minutes until the call disconnects. I finally just setup an account online, requested a replacement card and I got within 2 weeks. My advice is to do it online, and don't waste your time with the one here in Greensboro as they won't get back to you.
